There are only a few weeks left until the group of friends part ways and head off to post-secondary school, each embarking on their own journey.
"Come on, Zoe!" Sophia pleaded, giving Zoe a rendition of puppy dog eyes. "August 1st is a long weekend! You and I will be with the gang in a cabin out in the middle of nowhere!" Sophia bounced up and down with excitement. "Please say yes!"
Zoe glanced down at her camera, feeling uncertain. "I don't know!" A sense of unease washed over her. The thought of the cabin always giving her the 'icks.'
"I’ll let you bring your camera!" Sophia tried to make the offer more appealing. Excitedly, she snapped her fingers together, "and you can have the loft!" she added to sweeten the deal.
Biting her lower lip, Zoe replied, "Taking pictures of the wilderness would be a nice addition to my gallery." She forced a soft smile.
"Excellent!" Sophia exclaimed, jumping to her feet. "August 1st is going to be the best send-off before we part ways." She spun around in a joyful circle. "What could possibly go wrong?"
Zoe raised her brow with a dirty expression, 'the cabin perhaps!' she thought to herself but said nothing, not wanting to ruin Sophia's good mood.
