Chapter 1 — Getting Married To The Cruel Alpha

ALLY
“It is time.” I heard my father say and I lifted my head to look at him.
My heart sank in the realization that in about some minutes, I’d be married to Alpha Dimitri against my wish and unbeknownst to him.
“Don’t tell me you are about to cry,” my father whispered through his teeth with a frown on his face.
His voice, cold and sharp as ever, made me shiver from fear. I bit my inner cheek, an attitude of mine whenever I was trying to hide my fear.
“Remember that this is not for you but for the village. Your sister failed to realize it and ran away. She’s useless and you cannot be useless so no matter what happened today, put it in the back of your mind. And if you don’t care about the village then think about your mother!” He snarled.
“You will do as I have told and you will make no mistake, is that understood?” He stated firmly.
I swallowed the lump that formed in my throat before nodding my head in response.
“I need words,” my father snapped harshly.
“Yes sir,” I replied.
“Good. Now let’s go,” he said and I linked my arms with his as we walked out of the room.
I was close, close to getting married to Alpha Dimitri and it wasn’t my wish. I am not even the one who is supposed to marry him but my sister ran away last night leaving a letter to tell my parents that she cannot marry Alpha Dimitri and she wants to be with who she loves.
Lucy, my older sister, is Alpha Dimitri’s mate but she doesn’t love him and she couldn’t reject him because of our parents.
She couldn’t dare do that because of my father to be precise. He has always been an ambitious man and he loves power. Besides that, Alpha Dimitri has promised to help our small village and help us get involved with the activities of the town.
My sister has a lover but she couldn’t let my parents know because she knew they’d disapprove and when she discovered Alpha Dimitri to be her mate, she wasn’t happy with it.
Alpha Dimitri isn’t a good man. He is known to be vicious and ruthless. He has no respect for anyone and treats women like they are nothing but objects and my sister refuses to be married to a man like him.
Alpha Dimitri on the other hand seems to be fascinated by my sister. It was evident he wanted her and he constantly tried to impress her although he didn’t fail to look down on her at the same time. He was controlling, arrogant, and rude to her. Sometimes he’d threaten her if she made him angry.
As my sister's best friend, she told me everything and how uncomfortable she was each time she walked with him.
“He is unbelievable Ally! I cannot be with him. I don’t want to be with him.”
Those were her words and each time she said them, she’d burst into tears.
Last night, she ran away creating chaos. My father was furious, he vowed to punish my sister once he found her because she wanted to put them to shame.
He refused to let the Alpha know that his mate had run away hours before their wedding as the Alpha wouldn’t be pleased and it would cost a lot to me and my people.
“We cannot let him know she ran away. He won’t be happy about this and he will ruin us,” my father exasperated.
“What do we do? How could she do this to us? She knows that her marriage to Alpha Dimitri would help us a lot and yet she does this?” My mother voiced out, irritation laced in her tone.
Just then, my father's eyes met mine and he stood up from where he sat, taking slow steps towards me.
“You will fit perfectly,” he stated, staring at me with a mischievous expression.
“What do you mean she'd do?” My mother questioned.
“Alpha Dimitri can’t find out that his mate ran away or we will all face the consequences of his wrath and the wedding must go on. What I am trying to say is that Ally here will marry Alpha Dimitri in her sister’s place,” My father explained and I gasped in disbelief.
“But…”
“She looks just like her sister. They are both of the same height, both beautiful, same brown eyes and hair color. I know one can easily tell them apart but he won’t know until he reveals the veil but by then he’d be married to her already,” my father interjected.
“Alpha Dimitri would be furious if he found out that he got married to Ally and not Lucy. You know he fancies Lucy and he won’t let it go easily. We can’t fool the Alpha into marrying someone else. He won’t be happy and we don’t want to see his wrath,” my mother disapproved.
“And you think telling him his mate ran away before the wedding would make it better? He would be angry. He would. It won’t only be considered a humiliation but also a disrespect and you know Alpha Dimitri, he is not a forgiving man,” my father retorted.
“It’s best if this marriage continues as it would save us for this marriage to be canceled. Ally would marry Alpha Dimitri in her sister’s place and it’s final.”
“So are we going to tell him his mate ran away?” My mother asked.
“No. We won’t do that. I have a plan. I know just what we will tell him to make it convincing,” My father replied to my mother.
And that was how it came to be. I couldn’t speak up against my father because he was never a man who listened to anyone. What he wanted must be done and there was no escape. I turned to my mother for help but she didn’t say anything just like she always does.
Tears filled my eyes but I couldn’t let them drop. I was not only getting married to Alpha Dimitri but I was also going to deceive him into marrying me.
I cannot imagine the look on his face once he realizes that he married me and not my sister. The closer my father and I walked toward the podium where Alpha Dimitri and the priest stood, the more my heart raced erratically.
As soon as I reached the podium, my dad left my side to join the others while I climbed the podium to join Alpha Dimitri.
I refused to let myself feel any emotion as it would only create more chaos. I wanted to cry. I wanted this day to be over already. I couldn’t even look toward Alpha Dimitri as the fear of him finding out that he wasn’t getting married to his mate scared me.
“We shall begin the commencement of the ceremony.” The pack priest began and I became deaf to my environment.
I wasn’t hearing anything anymore and I suddenly found it hard to breathe.
I was getting married to someone who wasn’t my mate and against my will. This wasn’t how I envisioned my life and it hurts that I have no control over my own life.
“Ally!” I snapped out of my thoughts when I heard the voice of the priest.
I blinked my eyes as I looked around to realize that I was getting married and had completely zoned out of reality.
My eyes met with my father’s cold ones and I shuddered in fear.
“I will repeat,” the priest said.
“Do you take Alpha Dimitri Stravakos as your husband and to be his Luna and wife, in sickness and in health, for good times and for bad times, to be faithful and loyal to him until death do you apart?” The priest asked.
I took in a deep breath and exhaled before opening my mouth to speak. “Yes, I do.”
“It is done. With the power invested in me by the moon goddess, I now pronounce you, husband and wife. You may kiss the bride.”
That was it, that was how I agreed to years of lifetime pain and hardship.
My heart began to race faster than normal as Alpha Dimitri walked towards me. Then, he proceeded to remove the veil covering my face so he could kiss me.
This was it, the moment of truth, and just like that, he removed the veil and I didn’t fail to notice the shocking expression that formed on his face.
“What the hell is going on?” He voiced out in clear disbelief.

Chapter 2 — The Wedding Night

ALLY
"I need answers. What the bloody hell is going on? Why is she the one I'm married to and where is Lucy!" Alpha Dimitri demanded as he pulled my father to the side.
My heart was beating faster than normal and my hands were shaking from fear.
"Alpha Dim..."
Alpha Dimitri harshly and coldly cuts my father off. "Get straight to the point before I force the words out of your mouth."
"My daughter, Lucy is cursed," my father replied firmly.
"What the bloody hell do you mean by that?" Alpha Dimitri chided.
"I'm sorry Alpha Dimitri. Allow me to firstly apologize to you," my father said then proceeded to go on his knees but was stopped by Alpha Dimitri.
"What are you trying to do? Gather attention? Don't make me pissed, what's happening!" I shuddered in fear from the cold tone of Alpha Dimitri.
"My daughter Lucy is cursed and would bring harm to any man she gets married to and to his pack. This prophecy came two nights ago and I don't dare to cancel the wedding and humiliate a man of your status so I did what I had to do and that's give you my second daughter as it would only make it right," he father explained.
I dislike my father. He has always been selfish and cruel. He doesn't treat my mom, my sister, or me in a good way.
He has no respect or regard for women and I've watched several times as he hit my mom and how he'd lock my sisters and me in a room full of rats whenever we didn't obey him or offend him with no food or water for a day.
He has always been tough on us. He wants everything he wants done without wanting to know what any of us wants.
The reason I had not chosen to run just like my sister did was because of my mother. Tears filled my eyes as I listened to his conversation with Alpha Dimitri.
I didn't want to cry. I was tired of crying because that was all I did last night.
"Ally would bring good luck to your pack, unlike her sister. I'm sorry that you had to find out only after the wedding but all I did was for you Alpha. I would dare not to humiliate and embarrass you," my father said to Alpha Dimitri.
"I won't forgive you. For what you've done, I won't forgive you," Alpha Dimitri said to my father.
"Where is your daughter? Where is Lucy?" Alpha Dimitri questioned.
"I sent her away from treatments and maybe if she can get cured of her curse she would not only bring bad luck to you but also to me," My father lied confidently.
There was no sign of fear as he spoke or a hint of a lie. He just did it effortlessly.
Alpha Dimitri opened his mouth to say something but ended up closing his mouth, nodding his head instead.
He turned to leave only to see my face and he frowned. “I don’t want to see your face,” he uttered before walking past me.
Later that night, it was time for me to leave with Alpha Dimitri. I had not seen him since he spoke to my father the other time and I tried not to look for him as I wouldn’t want to make him any angrier.
Just before I went towards the limousine that Alpha Dimitri was in, my father pulled me to the side.
“You will not make the Alpha any more angry than he already is. You will not cry and now that you are his wife, you will act like it by satisfying and pleasing him as we have to pacify him okay?” My father said through his teeth.
“Yes Father,” I replied.
“Also I don’t have to tell you what to do as his wife. Tonight, make sure to appease him with what you have. You better be good at it or else if he doesn’t show us to treat me as he should then I would not forgive you and come for you,” he warned.
I cringed hard when he mentioned that I should use what I have to please Alpha Dimitri. It was disgusting to hear my father treat me like I was nothing.
I didn’t even know which was worse. Leaving the hell of a house my father owns or going to live with a man as vicious as Alpha Dimitri.
“Do you understand,” my father asked.
“Yea father,” I replied.
“Good. Now hurry up and join him. We don’t want to make the Alpha angry,” he urged.
I walked away from him, looking around for my mother with hopes of speaking to her but I couldn’t find her anywhere.
She didn’t attend the wedding as my father wouldn’t allow her either. I expected her to take the risk and to come and bid me farewell. A drop of tears slipped down my cheek as my chest burned in pain.
I joined Alpha Dimitri in the limousine.
“Drive Peter,” Alpha Dimitri ordered. All through the ride, we said nothing to each other and it made me even more worried as to what would happen when we finally arrived at his place.
I wasn’t surprised to know that Alpha Dimitri resided in a big mansion but it was my first time seeing a place as beautiful as it is. As the driver drove around the water fountain with blue lights, I could not help but be amazed by the beauty of the place.
Alpha Dimitri left the car almost immediately after we arrived and I followed his steps, walking fast behind him while trying to catch up with him as I didn’t want to offend him.
I held my gown in my hand as I followed him, he didn’t turn to look back at me not once, and I didn’t get to look at the mansion not once as I was scared of what might happen.
I heaved a sigh of small exhalation when we finally reached his room. I took a glance around the beauty of the room.
It was spacious, three of my rooms would be enough to fit in it, and in the middle of the room was a king-size bed.
Everything in the room screamed luxury, I had completely forgotten my anxiety as I stared at the room.
I snapped back to reality when I saw Alpha Dimitri glaring at me. I swallowed the invisible lump that formed in my throat from his glares.
“I’m sorry,” I uttered before realizing.
“What did you say?” He asked, taking slow and intimidating steps towards me.
“I’m sorry,” I apologize again not knowing why I was apologizing to him, my hands shaking.
His presence was terrifying. He made me so nervous and scared. I wasn’t this terrified of my own father as I was of him.
He scoffed, now standing some inches away from me. “Why are you sorry? For deceiving me into getting married to you or what?”
“I… I didn’t… mean…”
“Just shut up!” He snapped, cutting me off and I flinched from the sound of his voice.
“You will pay for this. You will pay for getting married to me. You will pay for thinking that you could get married to me and I’m not kidding. You made the worst mistake of your life and I will make sure to remind you of it every day.” He said, putting emphasis on his words as he spoke.
I didn’t marry him because I wanted to but because I was forced to. I couldn’t tell him that either because it would only make it worse. The way he looked at me made me scared. It was evident he didn’t like me and knowing his reputation, he wasn’t joking with his words.
“What are you about to do?” He spoke harshly and I quickly wiped the drop of tears that slipped down my cheek.
“Don’t you ever, I repeat, ever in your life shed those crocodile tears in front of me ever again. They disgust me. I can’t even stand you,” he said through gritted teeth.
“I…”
He cuts me off again. “I don’t want to hear you speak. You don’t deserve to speak to someone like me. You are nothing but a slave. You aren’t my wife. You are useless!”
Ouch! His words hurt. My heart beat erratically as I felt the knots in my stomach tightened.
He walked away, leaving me to stand in the same position in fear of what could happen. My life was officially ruined and no matter how hard I tried to escape it, I don’t think I’d ever escape it.
I didn’t know how long I stood in fear but by the time Alpha Dimitri returned, he had a towel wrapped around his waist.
My eyes fell on his body and I couldn’t help but admire his perfect body and his eight packs. I snapped back to reality when I realized that I was staring too much and looked away.
I’ve never seen a man half naked before, talk more of a naked man and it scared the hell out of me.
“Hey,” I heard Alpha Dimitri's voice and I flinched from the sound of his turn.
“Look at me,” he said and I slowly turned towards him.
I almost lost my balance when I realized that he was already standing behind me and not away from me.
I was able to hold myself and not fall.
“No matter what happens, you are not to come to this bed to sleep. I don’t care where you want to sleep but it will be in this room, either on the floor or maybe you can stand and sleep. I don’t give a fuck, is that understood?” He stated sternly.
“Yes… yes,” I replied nervously, nodding my head.
“Looking at you disgusts me. Your presence is irritating and you will regret it.” With that said, he left and I watched as he got rid of his towel and climbed on the bed.
Tears streamed down my cheek in fear and pain. I have been forced to marry the cruel Alpha and now I had nobody to cry to but myself.

Chapter 3 — Living Hell

ALLY
I felt an amount of cold water on my skin and I jumped off the bed or so I thought until I recalled I didn’t sleep on the bed but on the couch.
I looked around to see Alpha Dimitri with a frown on his face and a maid holding a bucket. So she was the one who poured a bucket of water on me and on the Alpha's demand.
I quickly looked away from the alpha, suddenly feeling cold.
“You may leave Laura. You don’t have to come back either,” he said to the maid.
“Yes Alpha,” she replied before leaving. I shuddered when I heard the sound of the door opening and closing.
My heart began to race faster than normal from fear that it was just Alpha Dimitri and me who were in the room.
“You seem to have forgotten where you are at, haven’t you?” He said, his voice lower than usual but as cold as ever.
“I clearly stated that you should remember where you are at but you slept up till this hour of the day? Where do you think you are? Your father’s house?” He snapped and I shuddered from the sound of his harsh voice.
I gulped down the lump that formed in my throat painfully, avoiding meeting his eyes and intentionally looking at my toes because I feared what I might see when I saw him.
“Do I have to remind you of your place?” He grabbed my hair and I squealed.
“I’m… I’m sorry,” tears formed in my eyes.
“You are what? You can’t be sorry. Why are you sorry? I’ve told you not to say that to me, haven't I?” He chided.
“I clearly stated that you are to wake up early and sleep late because that’s punishment for thinking that you can get married to me,” he says.
Tears streamed down my cheek. I didn’t want any of this either, I wanted to say to him but I couldn’t because I knew that it would only make it worse.
He let go of my hair. “I don’t want to see your face and I’ve warned you to stop crying in front of me, what the fuck is wrong with you!”
“Wipe those tears of yours before I force you to,” he ordered and I quickly used my palm to wipe my tears, looking away from him.
I was shaking in fear. My stomach clenched.
“The next time I’m forced to wake you up, I’d make sure that you regret it,” he said.
“Also, clean the room up before I come back. From now on that’s your responsibility and no one else’s, alright?” He said before walking away.
I heaved a sigh of relief as soon as he left before collapsing to the floor. I cried with my eyes closed, my chest burning and my stomach clenched.
I didn’t know for how long I was on the floor but the moment I snapped out of it, I got up in fear of not wanting Alpha Dimitri to come back and meet me here as it would not end well.
I didn’t know what to do or where exactly to start from so I left the room to go meet one of the maids for assistance so I would be able to do the needful.
Luckily for me, I was able to find a maid as soon as I left the room.
“Hey,” I said awkwardly.
“Good morning Luna,” she said, giving me a small bow.
It felt strange hearing her call me that. I have forgotten that I got married to an Alpha and it was against my will.
I never thought that I’d get Dimitri to an Alpha and worse a man like Alpha Landon and although we got married yesterday, I didn’t expect to be given that title.
“What happened to you? You are wet? Do you need any help?” The maid asked politely.
“I… uhm…” I stuttered, forgetting what it was that I wanted to say to her until it clicked on me.
“Do you need any help? I can help you, just say what it is that you want,” she said again, taking a step closer to me.
“I need to clean the room and I don’t know where to get the needed equipment for it. Can you take me there?” I asked, feeling nervous.
The maid smiled at me. “You don’t have to worry about that. I can clean the room for you. It’s my job,” she said and I shook my head almost immediately.
She can’t do that. Alpha Dimitri would be furious if he found out that I didn’t clean the room up myself.
“You don’t have to worry. You are the alpha wife which makes you the Luna of the pack. Any work you want me to get done, I’d get it done, can you go back to the room now?” She said and I shook my head.
“Just help me with the equipment. I will do it myself,” I stated firmly.
She looked at me frantically as if trying to read me. “Are you sure?” She asked and I nodded my head.
“Alright,” she pressed her lips in a thin line.
“I will go get them for you, In the meantime, you can go back to your room,” she said.
“Thank you,” I sighed deeply.
Just as she was about to leave, I stopped her.
“What is your name?” I asked inquisitively.
“Ama,” she replied with a smile on her face.
I smiled back at her before going to the room. She came back with the needed equipment to clean the roll shortly.
“Thanks so much,” I said to her.
I didn’t fail to notice how she looked at the wet couch with a creased forehead, something I would do whenever I was curious about something.
“It’s no problem. I can help you clean off,” she said.
“You don’t have to Ama, I have to do it myself,” I told her.
“Alright then. I will let you clean up but can I join you?” She asked.
I stopped to stare at her. "I said you don’t have to.”
"Don’t worry, I will just assist. You can clean up while I also help too,” she suggested, still smiling at me.
There was something about her that I liked. Maybe it was how she smiled at me or how kind she was to me.
“Alright,” I said before getting to it.
“What the fuck is going on here?” I felt my heart skip when I heard the voice of Alpha Dimitri.
“Good day Alpha,” I heard Ama say.
“What are you doing here?” Alpha Dimitri questioned.
“I’m cleaning the room Alpha,” she replied, making it hard for me to breathe.
This was why I didn’t want her here. This was why I asked for her to leave and that I’d do it myself. I knew he might come anytime and I wouldn’t want him to come in here and see her with me, it would make him furious.
“And who asked you to come in here?” He asked.
I wanted to speak but I couldn’t find my voice. I don’t dare to speak up. I couldn’t dare to provoke him.
“I simply came to help Luna, she didn’t ask for my help and refused that I…”
Alpha Dimitri cuts her off. “What did you just say?”
“I came to help the Luna…”
“Shhh!” Alpha Dimitri chided.
“Luna? And who bestowed that title on her?” He asked.
“Let this be the first and the last time that you refer to her as the Luna of this pack. Is that understood?” He stated sternly.
“Yes… yes, Alpha.” She replied.
“Good. Now leave this room immediately,” he ordered.
“Yes Alpha,” Ama replied before running out of the room leaving just Alpha Dimitri and me.
“Ridiculous isn’t it?” Someone like you called Luna?” He scoffed, walking towards me.
Although I didn’t dare look at him, I couldn’t help but pay attention to the sound of his footsteps.
“Luna? You have got to be kidding me,” he clicked his tongue.
“What did I say to you before I left?” He asked and I flinched from the sound of his voice.
“Speak up!” He snarled.
“You… you said I should… clean… the room… by… myself,” I stuttered, my voice lower than normal.
“And what did you do after all I said?” He asked.
Tears began to stream down my cheek and I honestly hated how I was quick to cry. I hated how he made me so scared.
“I didn’t tell her to do anything. I told her not to but she insisted,” I said, wiping the tears in my eyes.
He scoffed in disbelief. “And you are lying through your teeth.”
I shook my head, denying his accusations. “I didn’t. I swear I didn’t.”
“Shut up!” He shunned.
“You didn’t then what was she doing here? Did I not see her? Am I blind? Is that what you are trying to say?”
I shook my head, my hands were shaking. “I…”
Before I could speak, he put his hand around my throat, choking me. “You are nothing but a liar! I haven’t said a word even though I feel cheated yet you want to do this?”
“Tell me why, why did you agree to marry me? Your father is lying isn’t he?” He asked, pushing me against the wall.
My back hit the wall as he choked me. I was struggling to breathe, tears streaming down my cheek profusely.
“Look me in the eyes and tell me the truth, where is your sister and what is your father not telling me!” He growled, his eyes boring mine with nothing but pure hatred in them.
Just as he hated me, I hated him too but I couldn’t act out just as he was acting out and that was the difference.
“Speak up!” He snarled.
“I…I don’t know…” I managed to say in tears while struggling to breathe.
“I am not a forgiving man. I don’t forgive and once I find out the truth about all of this, I will make sure that you don’t only pay for this every one of your family. I will make you all suffer for it.” He said through his teeth, emphasizing his words.
He finally let me go and I fell to the ground, gasping for air.
