Chapter 1 — Mistakenly Raised

Lydia's POV:
"Are you Lydia Quinn? My daughter?"
Inside the mansion of the Stormwood Pack's Alpha, my Luna mother stared down at me with contempt.
Clad in a rough, dirt-streaked shirt and black pants, I must have looked like a bedraggled puppy.
A month ago, during the party for their daughter Elise's 18th birthday, Alpha Silas Quinn and Luna Clara Quinn discovered that Elise had shapeshifted into a gray wolf in her wolf form.
But every werewolf in the Stormwood Pack was black in their wolf forms, never gray.
It was obvious they had the wrong child!
So they hastily came to find their real daughter—me.
However, it seemed my mother didn't like me.
I could hear her malicious thoughts.
I can't believe this bedraggled girl is my biological daughter, lost for 18 years! She looks like a piece of tattered cloth! I can't even sense the slightest wolf presence. Oh, Moon Goddess, my own daughter is wolfless! How embarrassing! My wolf spirit Mia sang, translating my mother's thoughts for me.
Mia had a special ability—to read the minds of those with malicious intentions towards me.
"She should be ashamed of herself! A werewolf who couldn't even recognize her own pup for 18 years!" Mia scoffed, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "She shouldn't be a Luna; she should be an Omega, just like your vile and foolish Omega mother, whose weak wolf spirit couldn't even identify her own kind."
"Rein it in, Mia. She's our biological mother." I interrupted Mia's cutting remarks without changing my expression. "Remember why we came back—to reunite with our birth parents."
"Of course, I remember. The Moon Goddess guided us back to find a way to make a breakthrough and become the supreme-ranking Alpha King.
That was indeed why Mia and I, after years of wandering, returned to the pack.
In our werewolf society, ranks are strict; high-ranking werewolves have absolute dominance over low-ranking ones.
And my wolf spirit's rank went beyond even the highest known Alpha rank.
That's also why my mother couldn't recognize her own child—Mia's presence confused her since the moment Mia appeared.
My wolf spirit was too unique. Ordinary werewolves awaken their wolf spirit at 18, but Mia had appeared shortly after my birth.
An infant's body couldn't accommodate such a powerful wolf spirit. To protect me, Mia had disguised me as a wolfless—the lowest-ranking, despised condition of a werewolf with a disabled wolf spirit.
"I don't like our mother," Mia grumbled.
I could hear my mother's inner voice again—she was wandering for three years; only lowly Rogues wander. Oh, Moon Goddess, I hope my real daughter hasn't become a shameless slut!
I didn't need Mia to translate to see the disdain in her eyes.
But I hadn't expected my mother to think so poorly of me, completely overlooking that my suffering was due to their negligence!
When I was born, a low-ranking Omega couple mistakenly took me home from the hospital and raised me. Now that I knew they weren't my real parents, I considered them my fake parents. My fake father was a gambling drunk, and my fake mother was a drug addict, driving our already poor family into ruin.
I often went hungry, and my memories of early childhood were hazy, leaving me unable to find my real parents.
Starving and desperate, I attended the Lycan Council's free school until ninth grade, unable to continue any further.
So Mia and I decided to run away from my horrible fake parents ... and that turned into three years. Last month, guided by the Moon Goddess, we finally came back.
But ... I glanced at my birth mother, who was still looking at me with disdain.
Could such a mother really help me advance in my alpha rank and become the world's only supreme-ranking alpha king?
I shifted my gaze from my mother to my father.
My father, Alpha Silas of Stormwood Pack.
"How are you adjusting to being back home?" Alpha Silas invited me to sit down and had a maid bring me a glass of water.
"I'm fine," I answered, expressionless.
"Good. We owe you a lot. From now on, stay at Stormwood Pack; Mom and Dad will take care of you. Here's a gift for our first meeting." Silas placed a beautifully wrapped box in front of me.
Mia jumped with excitement but said coolly, "Dad seems okay."
I gave a slight smile and glanced at the exquisite box, then slowly unwrapped it to reveal a finely crafted LV necklace.
"The imposter is jealous of you," Mia hummed.
I looked at Elise, who was standing silently nearby, and heard her thoughts—That's the necklace I wanted, and Dad gave it to Lydia. She took what was mine! How infuriating!
Mia snarled, "She's the one who's taken what's ours! Everything she has should belong to us! Why don't Mom and Dad send her back to live the harsh life we endured?"

Chapter 2 — Auctioned Werewolf

Lydia's POV:
Why wasn't Elise sent away?
That's supposedly because my parents are kind-hearted and couldn't bear to part with the daughter they raised for 18 years. They couldn't bring themselves to send her to an Omega family in that small pack to suffer.
For that, I had no comment.
Seeing me lost in thought, Silas asked with concern, "Well, what do you think? Do you like it?"
I maintained my smile, but my tone was cold and distant. "Thank you."
"There's no need for formalities between family." Silas smiled warmly. "Elise, take Lydia upstairs to her room."
"Sure thing, Dad." Elise responded cheerily and smiled at me. "Let's go, Lydia."
I nodded and followed her upstairs.
Although I was leaving the mansion's main hall, my wolf spirit was incredibly powerful, granting me exceptional hearing. Even from upstairs, I could hear the conversations from downstairs.
As I went up the stairs, I overheard my parents' discussion, relayed by Mia, who was narrating their thoughts about me after I left.
Silas: "Did you see the necklace on her neck?"
Clara: "Yes, it looks a lot like the latest item from the Divan Group auction, priced in the ten figures. I can't believe she's so vain—buying counterfeit jewelry to pretend it's real. If people find out the Alpha's daughter of the Stormwood Pack is flaunting fake goods, I'll be a laughingstock."
Silas: "That necklace sold for 1.5 billion at auction. The identity of the buyer remains a mystery, but but rumor had it that it was a big shot from Maland. So, there's no way it could be the real thing on Lydia. It's absolutely a fake!"
Silas: "It's partially our fault. If she'd grown up with us, maybe she wouldn't be like this. But now that she's here in Stormwood Pack, she needs to be properly refined. We can't let her stay this vain."
Clara: "I understand."
Mia growled in frustration. "They're talking about you behind your back."
"I know."
I continued following Elise upstairs.
When we reached my bedroom, Elise's friendly smile vanished instantly.
"Lydia, I'm warning you. Don't think you can come into this house and rule just because you're Mom and Dad's biological daughter! Mom said that even though you're back, I will always be her daughter because my wolf rank is higher! My wolf spirit is Gamma rank. I am their pride! While you, a wolfless one, will never surpass me!"
Her face twisted in mockery. "In case you didn't know, Mom has arranged for us to attend the Lycan Alliance's most prestigious high school together."
I glanced at her coldly. "So?"
"I heard you didn't even finish middle school. If you don't want to embarrass yourself, go tell Mom you don't want to go to school!"
"A tiny Gamma dares to threaten you? Let me out; I'll bite her!" Mia snapped.
I smiled slightly but didn't let Mia out. This small fry wasn't worth it.
And, of course, I didn't agree to Elise's ridiculous request.
When she saw that her rank intimidation had no effect, her face twisted with anger. "Just wait. Once we're at school, I'll make sure you regret it!"
With that threat, Elise huffed and strode off, her head held high.
...
The next day, when I came downstairs, I noticed that Mom, Dad, and Elise were all gone. The maids informed me that they had gone out to eat.
"Sorry, Ms. Lydia, Alpha, and Luna said you just arrived and should rest at home."
Though she was apologizing, the maid's tone lacked respect.
"Rest? They're clearly embarrassed to be seen with you, a wolfless." Mia sneered.
"I understand." I wasn't keen on joining them for social events anyway.
I had other matters to attend to.
Though my biological parents thought the three years I spent wandering turned me into a slut Rogue, the reality was quite different. During those years, I built my empire.
Oh, I was not yet an Alpha King, and my small empire can still be considered only a pack. To strengthen it, I sent my subordinates on missions around the world.
Today, I was meeting with one of my subordinates responsible for operations in Scotsa City. We arranged to meet at an auction.
When I arrived at the auction, it had already started.
Lexi, my friend who was a Delta wolf, greeted me enthusiastically. "Alpha, you're finally here! I've missed you so much!"
We exchanged a brief hug. "When does the mysterious treasure you mentioned go up for auction?"
"Soon, maybe in about half an hour," Lexi replied thoughtfully, scratching her chin with a smile.
I leaned back in my chair, lazily taking in my surroundings.
The auction was bustling with activity.
"And now, the highlight of tonight's event," the auctioneer's voice boomed through the venue.
Clap! Clap! The auctioneer's clapping pierced the air.
Instantly, the once brightly lit venue dimmed as if an unseen hand snuffed out the light, leaving the hall shrouded in darkness.
Only a single warm beam illuminated the central stage, casting a divine-like spotlight where a black cage materialized, containing a figure within.
A male werewolf.
My gaze was instantly locked onto him, drawn as if by some magnetic force, unable to look away.
He leaned lazily against the cage, emanating an innate wildness and defiance.
The light carved out his flawless profile, exuding an aura of innate allure and sensuality. His unique presence created an undeniably magnetic field, captivating everyone in attendance.
Clad in a flimsy, translucent cloth, his muscles teasingly visible under the lights, his chest fully exposed, showcasing a perfect blend of power and wild beauty that made one crave more.
It was apparent that he was a white werewolf, a breed renowned for its beauty among werewolves.
Yet this one was exceptionally handsome and sexy.
D*mn, he was a treasure among white werewolves!
He hit my preferences squarely, making my heart race and breathing quicken.
The man in the cage seemed to sense my presence. From among the hundred gazes, his eyes found mine.
His eyes, deep and starry, twinkled with an alluring brilliance. His beautiful lashes fluttered slightly, like feathers tickling the palm of my hand, igniting a tingling sensation.
Then, I heard a voice, sultry and magnetic, whispering from the depths of my soul, "Buy me!"
My breath hitched, and my heart seemingly stopped. I looked at him in disbelief—
This werewolf could establish a mental link with me!?

Chapter 3 — Passive Linked

Lydia's POV:
I was stunned.
In my entire life, I had never encountered a werewolf who could initiate a link with me!
This meant that this white wolf's rank was at least equal to mine!
How was that possible?
I was going to become an Alpha King!
"Mia! Who the h*ck is this white wolf? How can he break through your barrier? Aren't most white wolves just beautiful but useless Omegas?"
In the werewolf society, white wolves were rare because most of them were weak but stunning Omegas.
Years ago, white wolves were often sold as slaves and playthings for high-ranking werewolves. It wasn't until the Lycan Rights Accord was passed that their situation improved somewhat, though they still appeared in underground auctions.
So how did this white wolf manage to break through the barrier and link up with me?
Ordinary werewolves had to wait until they were 18 to gain the ability to shapeshift and acquire their wolf spirit. But I had Mia since birth.
Mia didn't belong to any known werewolf rank—Omega, Delta, Gamma, Beta, not even Alpha or Luna could suppress her.
Mia once told me her powers were too strong for me to handle as a child, so she disguised me as wolfless to protect me.
Three years ago, Mia told me it was time to master her true power.
We left my foster parents, and under the moonlight, Mia took control of my body. We leaped and ran through the forest, reveling in the freedom.
During those three years, we encountered many powerful werewolves. Mia could break through each one's defenses; even the most formidable Alphas could not withstand her if their willpower wavered.
In those three years, no werewolf had managed to bypass Mia's defense and establish a direct link with us.
But now, an exception appeared!
"Buy me!"
The white wolf's call became clearer. For the first time, Mia was passively linked with another werewolf's wolf spirit.
"Mia, what's happening?" I felt uneasy and restless.
Mia, however, offered a curious smile, rubbing her furry ears against me tenderly—"Don't be afraid, sweetie. This is the will of the Moon Goddess. Accept his request."
Mia's words soothed my anxiety.
Still, I felt a twinge of annoyance as I coldly used the link to communicate with the werewolf, "Give me one good reason why I should buy you!"
"You'll make a hefty profit. I'll pay you double once I'm free."
"Deal."
I severed the link.
Double the price?
Why was a man this wealthy captured here?
I frowned slightly and glanced at the auctioneer.
The auctioneer had already started, "Bidding starts at one million."
"One and a half million."
The first bid came from a pot-bellied old man, leering at the white wolf.
White werewolves were always the most sought-after "goods" in the black market.
"Two million."
"Three million."
A husky, rough voice rang out, and I saw it belonged to a bald man.
Disgusting old men!
"Five million," I raised my paddle.
"Six million," the bald man countered.
I calmly raised my paddle again. "Six and a half million."
I looked at the white werewolf in the cage. Despite being trapped, he radiated dignity and a fierce aura like a noble king. He definitely didn't belong in a cage.
A smile curled at the corner of my mouth. "Mia, listen to that old man's thoughts."
"He wants to bid more but is hesitant. He's thinking about ... Oh, do you really want to hear his obscene fantasies?" Mia teased me.
The pot-bellied man glanced at the white wolf and suddenly shouted, "Can we inspect the goods first? If it is defective, I won't bid anymore!"
His shout roused excitement in the crowd.
"Inspect the goods! Inspect the goods!"
"Strip him! Let's see if he's just as pretty underneath!"
Everyone wanted to take advantage.
The man's face darkened further.
I frowned and looked at the auctioneer.
The auctioneer seemed to communicate with someone and then nodded. "Alright! But only one person can inspect."
"I'll go!"
The pot-bellied old man rushed forward, but I smirked, my fingers twitching lightly.
An auction catalog flew at the old man's ankle, causing him to yelp in pain and collapse.
No one touches my prize!
