Chapter 1 — Bound By Fate
Brianna’s POV
The crowd buzzed with electric excitement, the scent of pine, sweat, and anticipation thick in the evening air. The entire Bloodfang Pack had gathered near the training grounds. Cheers echoed, bodies pressed close together like a sea of blind devotion.
I stood at the farthest edge, arms crossed tightly over my chest, letting the shadows swallow me whole. I didn’t cheer. I didn’t smile. Let them scream for their saviors if they wanted to.
The Alpha triplets had returned.
So what?
To the others, this was a glorious homecoming. To me, it was just a cruel reminder.
Two years ago, during the rogue uprising, my parents had been slaughtered. Ripped apart like they were nothing. The triplets? They weren’t here. They were off in some hidden territory, training for greatness—preparing to become the next leaders of our pack.
They were too busy becoming legends to save the people who mattered.
A trumpet blared. The crowd hushed as one.
Three figures stepped onto the stone podium like war gods returning from Olympus.
Ryker. Rowan. Reid.
Each one carried power like a second skin.
Ryker came first—tall, broad, and grinning like he owned the world. His dark curls framed a face carved from arrogance, and his eyes danced over the crowd with heat and mischief.
Rowan followed—calm, composed, deliberate. His gaze was sharp, his aura controlled and grounded like the forest after a storm.
And then… Reid. The one who didn’t smile. Who stayed just out of the light. Silver eyes glinting like frozen steel, arms folded, unreadable.
Then it hit me.
Pain. Heat. A low growl from deep inside my chest.
My wolf stirred. No—roared.
My vision swam as something ancient snapped into place. My knees weakened, breath catching. The scent that slammed into me was unmistakable—musk, pine, and the electric charge of a storm about to break. It wrapped around me, tangled with my soul.
No…
This wasn’t happening.
They weren’t just the Alphas.
They were my mates.
Ryker’s eyes found mine like magnets drawn across a field. His smirk faltered, replaced by something darker—hunger, recognition.
Rowan followed his gaze. His brow furrowed, jaw tensing. The thread had pulled tight.
Reid didn’t move. But his gaze sliced through the crowd and landed on me. Ice meeting flame.
My stomach dropped.
Not them. Anyone but them.
I spun on my heel, pushing through the pack. The air around me felt too thin. My skin buzzed like it didn’t belong to me. I needed to get away.
A firm hand closed around my arm.
"Running away already, little wolf?" Ryker’s voice was a smooth taunt, warm against my ear but sharp beneath the surface. "Didn’t even come say hello."
I wrenched free. "Don’t touch me."
His eyes gleamed. "You felt it too, didn’t you?"
"I felt nothing," I hissed. "And even if I had, I’d rather rip out my own heart than be tied to any of you."
Rowan stepped forward, his voice a low rumble. "We didn’t choose this either."
"Good," I spat. "Then rejecting you should be easy."
Reid said nothing. Just watched. Always watching.
My chest seized. Burning, aching. The bond screamed at me, furious at my defiance. My legs buckled.
Pain exploded down my spine—sharp, wild, unbearable.
I collapsed.
Strong arms caught me before I hit the ground.
Rowan. His scent overwhelmed my senses—cedarwood, smoke, and warmth. Too close. Too intimate.
"You’re burning up," he said softly, concern flickering in his voice.
"I don’t want this," I breathed, barely holding on.
But the darkness didn’t wait. It pulled me under like a tide.
I woke with a gasp.
My sheets clung to me, damp with sweat. Moonlight streamed through my window, casting pale streaks across the floor. The burning had dulled, but the ache remained—deep and rooted, like something living inside me.
I paced the room, muscles tense. I couldn’t do this. I wouldn’t be a pawn in fate’s twisted, cosmic joke.
I couldn’t sleep. Not with everything that had happened. Not with them in my head.
My wolf was restless. Agitated.
Damn the mate bond. Damn the triplets.
I pushed off the bed and crossed to the window, shoving it open to let the night air in. It didn’t help. I still felt like I was suffocating.
A sudden sound behind me made my blood run cold.
The faintest click like a door slowly closing.
I froze. My breath caught in my throat.
I turned around.
A figure stood inside my room.
Tall. Dressed in black from head to toe. Face covered, only his eyes visible, dark, murderous eyes that didn’t blink.
"What the hell…." I barely got the words out before he lunged.
I stumbled back, heart slamming against my ribs. A blade glinted in the moonlight. I reached for the lamp on my nightstand and hurled it. It crashed against the wall, shattering into sparks, but the figure didn’t stop.
I screamed.
He tackled me, sending us both crashing to the ground. My elbow cracked against the floor. Pain radiated up my arm. I struggled, kicking and clawing, but he was too strong. The knife was at my throat.
This is it.
I’m going to die.
Then the door burst open.
"Brianna!"
Liam, A pack warrior.
He tackled the masked figure off me with a feral growl. The two of them crashed into my desk. Wood splintered. The knife skidded across the floor.
Liam fought with everything he had shifting partially, claws slashing. But the masked man moved fast, too fast. One wrong move, and…..
Steel flashed.
"No!" I screamed as the blade sank deep into Liam’s side.
He staggered back, blood soaking his shirt. The attacker took one last look at me like he was memorizing my face then vanished through the window.
I scrambled to Liam’s side. "Stay with me please, Liam don’t you dare…..!"
He coughed, blood staining his lips. His hand gripped mine, shaky, weak.
"They’ll come back…" he rasped. "They’re not done. They won’t stop… until you’re dead."
"Who? Who sent him?!"
But his eyes had already gone glassy.
I sat there, frozen, hands soaked in blood.
He died in my arms.
My chest heaved with shallow, panicked breaths.
The scent of blood was thick, metallic, inescapable. My hands shook as I backed away from his body, bile rising in my throat.
My ears picked up something, movement outside.
I turned toward the window. Shadows moved in the forest line beyond the pack walls. Watching. Waiting.
Not even the mate bond could protect me now.
Chapter 2 — Fighting Fate
Brianna’s POV
The blood was still warm.
Liam’s lifeless body lay at my feet, his final words looping through my mind like a curse.
They’re coming for you… and they won’t stop until you’re dead.
But why me?
I wasn’t special. I wasn’t a warrior. I wasn’t touched by prophecy or fate… unless you counted the cursed triple bond I was desperately trying to ignore.
Liam had taught me how to fight. Had patched me up after my first shift. Now he was just another body on the floor.
The door slammed open.
Three shadows entered.
Rowan. Ryker. Reid.
Of course they came. The bond would’ve yanked them toward me the second my knees hit the floor, soaked in blood and shaking.
My wolf snarled in my chest, furious at the thought of rejecting them. I shoved her down. I was still in control. Barely.
Ryker was first to speak, his ever-present smirk completely out of place in the middle of a crime scene.
"Well," he drawled, scanning the carnage, "someone had a killer evening."
I glared daggers. "Not the time, Ryker."
Rowan knelt beside Liam, examining the gash carved across his chest. His jaw clenched, eyes dark with calculation. "This was clean. Surgical. A message."
Reid said nothing. Just stared. Arms crossed. Eyes unreadable. Like I was a puzzle he couldn’t quite solve—or maybe didn’t want to.
I scrubbed my bloody palms on my jeans. "Someone tried to kill me. Liam saved me. Said they’re coming for me."
Ryker leaned against the wall like this was just another Tuesday. "Looks like someone wants our mate dead before the fun even starts. Rude."
"Stop calling me that," I snapped.
Rowan stood, wiping his hand with a cloth he pulled from his coat. Calm. Precise. "You can fight it all you want, Brianna. The bond is real."
"It changes everything!" My voice cracked. "The pack doesn’t allow this—three mates? It’s unnatural. If the Elders find out—"
"They already know," Reid cut in, voice cold and final. "They’ve felt the shift. You think you’re hiding it? You’re not."
My stomach dropped.
Rowan’s voice softened. "You’re not safe here. Come back with us to the palace. You’ll be protected."
I let out a bitter laugh. "Oh, how heroic. The three Alpha Princes swooping in to protect the girl who never wanted them."
"None of us asked for this," Ryker said, his tone losing its teasing edge. "But here we are."
"I don’t need your protection," I growled, but the sharp ache in my chest flared again, the pain pulsing beneath my skin like fire. I gasped, struggling to breathe.
Rowan stepped closer. "That pain? That’s the bond reacting to your denial. Keep resisting, and it’ll only get worse."
"Then maybe I’ll break it," I snapped.
Silence crashed over us like thunder.
Even Ryker’s smirk faded.
Rowan’s eyes darkened. "You don’t know what breaking the bond would do. To you. To us."
I turned away.
Not because I didn’t believe him.
But because I did.
That night, sleep refused to come.
My mind spun with unanswered questions, a storm of dread and confusion. Who wanted me dead? Why now?
I stepped outside. Moonlight cut through the trees in silver blades. The forest was silent, blanketed in eerie calm.
I needed air. Space. Anything but walls closing in.
Leaves crunched beneath my boots as I wandered. The scent of pine grounded me until a twig snapped behind me.
I didn’t turn.
"Are you stalking me now?" I asked, my voice flat.
"Just keeping an eye on the girl who thinks she doesn’t need anyone," Ryker replied, stepping from the shadows. His shirt was half-unbuttoned, his presence annoyingly magnetic.
"I told you to stay away."
"And I told you I don’t follow rules."
We stared at each other, tension crackling in the space between us. My wolf stirred inside, pacing, drawn to him like fire to oxygen.
"You think you can ignore this," Ryker said, his voice dropping, "but the bond doesn’t go away just because you wish it would."
"I don’t want it to be real."
He took a step forward. "Too bad."
I backed up until bark bit into my spine. He caged me in without touching me, arms braced on either side of my head.
"Tell me you don’t feel it," he whispered. "That pull. The heat."
"Stop."
"Admit it."
"I won’t."
His lips brushed my cheek, not a kiss, just a whisper of contact—and my breath caught. My wolf howled in approval, desperate for more.
I shoved him hard and stepped away, trembling. "Stay away from me."
Then I ran.
Not because I feared him.
But because I feared what I wanted.
Morning came too quickly.
Two guards stood at my door, silent, armored, and grim.
No words were needed.
The Elders had summoned me.
I was escorted through cold hallways to a chamber I’d only seen once as a child. Inside, five Elders sat in a crescent, eyes sharp, air thick with judgment.
I stood alone in the center, the silence suffocating.
"Brianna," Elder Marius said, tone devoid of warmth. "It has come to our attention that you are bonded to the Alpha triplets."
I didn’t respond.
"The bond has been sensed," Elder Therin added, face tight with disdain. "Three Alphas. One mate. It violates everything we stand for."
"I didn’t ask for this," I said quietly.
"Intent is irrelevant," said Elder Elara, her voice softer, though no less final. "This cannot continue."
"So what are you saying?" I asked. "Someone tried to kill me last night, and this is what you care about?"
Marius didn’t flinch. "You must reject the bond. Formally. Publicly."
"And if I refuse?"
"You’ll be exiled," Elara said, regret in her eyes. "Your connection to the pack will be severed. Permanently."
I felt the floor tilt beneath me.
Exile. Alone. Disconnected from everything—everyone.
"We’ll give you until sundown," Therin said. "Choose wisely."
The sun was low when I stepped outside the chamber.
And there they were.
Rowan. Ryker. Reid.
Waiting. Watching.
No words passed between us.
They didn’t beg. Didn’t plead. Just stood there like monuments—anchored by the same fate I wanted to run from.
The decision was mine to make.
But either way…
Something inside me was going to break.
Chapter 3 — The Breaking Point
Brianna’s POV
They say fate is inevitable.
I used to scoff at that. Thought it was just a romantic excuse for people too scared to fight for what they really wanted. But now? With the mate bond sinking deeper into my soul like a brand I never asked for?
I was starting to believe it.
And I hated every damn second of it.
I stood before the Elders, every muscle in my body coiled tight. The council chamber was colder than usual—stone walls, harsh light, and the suffocating scent of incense and judgment. They sat like statues, all stern expressions and eyes that saw everything... except me.
"Reject them," Elder Maynard said, his voice like cracked granite. "You have a duty to this pack. The laws are clear."
I swallowed hard. My throat burned. My wolf paced inside me, ears flat, tail low but growling, ready to defend what was ours.
"I….." I began, but a voice cut clean through the air.
"She’s not going anywhere."
Rowan’s voice cut through the silence like a blade. Calm. Deadly. Commanding. His presence filled the room like a storm rolling in.
He stepped forward, standing beside me without hesitation. His hand brushed mine—not touching, but enough to ground me.
"She’s our mate," he said. "Exile her, and you exile all of us."
Gasps rippled through the room.
Reid was next, quiet but unshakable, like ancient stone. "We don’t stand apart in this. We stand with her."
And then Ryker.
Leaning in the doorway like he owned the moon and the stars, arms crossed, that damn smirk on his face. "Go ahead. Try laying a hand on her. I’ll decorate this place with your limbs."
The Elders did not appreciate the visual.
"Three mates. One female," Elder Maynard snapped. "You know what that means. The prophecy….."
"It's just a story," I snapped, unable to take it anymore. "You’re scared of something you don’t even understand."
"The Blood Moon Triad," another Elder whispered, like even saying the words summoned a curse. "One woman bound to three fated mates. It always ends in blood."
I flinched.
"Enough," Elder Maynard growled. "You have three days, Brianna, Reject them or leave the pack. There is no in-between."
The room spun. My chest tightened. My mouth was dry, but I refused to show weakness.
Three days to destroy myself—or destroy everything I’d worked for.
I turned on my heel, storming out, my wolves—yes, mine trailing behind like shadows.
Outside the chamber, I spun around, fury rising like fire.
"Stop following me like lost dogs." I whirled on them.
Rowan didn’t flinch. "We’re not letting you go through this alone."
"I am alone. Don’t you get it? If I accept this—you—I lose everything I’ve built here."
Ryker scoffed. "What have you built? A lonely cottage on the edge of town and a reputation for biting everyone’s head off?"
I shoved him. "Go to hell."
He grinned. "Only if you’re coming with me."
"Enough," Rowan cut in, his tone sharp. "She needs space."
Reid stepped closer, his eyes unreadable. "We’ll give you space. But not distance."
I hated how that sounded. Like a promise I might not be strong enough to run from.
That night, Ryker found me.
Of course he did.
I was training behind the old barracks, unleashing every ounce of rage on a worn-out punching bag that had seen better days. Sweat clung to my skin, my knuckles were bruised, and I still wasn’t satisfied.
"Trying to beat the bond out of yourself?" he asked, voice smooth, lazy.
I didn’t even glance at him. "Piss off."
He didn’t.
Instead, he stepped into the ring.
"Let’s spar."
I spun toward him. "You’re kidding."
"Scared I’ll kick your ass?"
"I will kick your ass."
He smirked. "Prove it."
Something inside me snapped. Maybe it was the pressure, or the confusion, or the way his presence made everything ache. But I stepped into the ring, raised my fists, and nodded.
"Fine."
The fight was savage.
I moved fast. He moved faster. Every blow was real, but underneath it, tension buzzed like a live wire. I landed a jab to his ribs. He slammed me down on the mat. I flipped him. He flipped me harder.
Our bodies were locked in a battle we couldn’t name.
And then—I had him. Pinned. My knees on his chest, my hands gripping his wrists.
I was panting, sweat trickling down my spine. His eyes burned into mine—dark, unreadable, hungry.
"Say it," he breathed.
"Say what?" I hissed, even though I knew.
"That you feel it. The bond. That you want me."
My stomach twisted. The bond pulsed between us like a heartbeat. I hated how it made me weak, how it made me crave him.
I hated it almost as much as I wanted it.
"I don’t…." I began.
But he surged up.
One motion. One blur.
And suddenly, I was beneath him, his body flush against mine, heat radiating between us.
His lips crushed mine—hard, bruising. Desperate.
I froze for a second.
Then I kissed him back.
Just for a second.
The bond flared, a wildfire ripping through my veins. My body arched, aching, needy. His hands tangled in my hair, his lips devouring every shred of doubt.
Then reality slammed back.
I shoved him off. Hard.
His chest was rising and falling fast, eyes wild with something he couldn’t cage.
I stared at him like he’d burned me.
"I’m not yours," I whispered, voice trembling.
"Could’ve fooled me," he muttered, still breathless.
I turned and ran—ran until my legs burned, and my lungs screamed and the weight of it all nearly crushed me.
The woods were cold that night.
Dark. Too quiet.
I leaned against a tree, trying to calm the storm inside me. But it was no use. Everything felt like it was slipping. The bond. My control. My place in this world.
I’d always thought I was strong. Independent.
Now?
I wasn’t sure of anything anymore.
A snap of a twig made me freeze.
I turned quickly, scanning the trees.
"Ryker?" I called, hoping maybe he followed me again.
But no answer came.
Only silence.
Then, in the distance, I saw it.
Red eyes.
Watching.
Unblinking.
A chill shot down my spine. My wolf went still.
Who the hell was that?
And why were they watching me?
