Chapter 1 — The Ancestor's Back From The Dead

{Elara Croft pov}
“Aah!”
My stepsister, Ivy Croft, drove a silver dagger straight into the gland at my nape.
Pain slammed into me. Deep in my soul, my wolf, Astrid, screamed.
[Master! Help me!]
She was being ripped out of me.
“Elara, don’t blame me, sis.”
Ivy crouched, head tilted as she looked me over.
Her pretty, innocent face twisted in my blurring vision.
“Not my fault you’re that slut’s Omega.”
She opened her hand.
A ball of light struggled between her fingers—my wolf soul, Astrid.
Eighteen years of swallowing my pride, and this was the only thing I had.
Tomorrow, with Astrid, I could join the Werewolf Investigation Bureau, leave the Croft Pack, leave all of them behind.
Just one more day.
“Give Astrid back to me,” I rasped, blood bubbling in my throat.
Ivy’s eyes went cold.
Her fingers clenched.
The light shattered. Half her body blurred with the phantom of a gray wolf—Mange. She opened her mouth and swallowed the shards of Astrid’s soul in one gulp.
“No!”
I shrieked.
Blood flooded my throat.
“Sis, your Astrid really is top-shelf. Perfect boost for my Mange,” Ivy said, rolling her shoulders, smug as hell.
Footsteps sounded behind me.
“Ivy, hurry it up. Don’t let this piece of trash make us late for our engagement party.”
My fiancé, Darian.
He stood behind Ivy with an arm around her waist, looking at me like I was something he stepped in.
Three months ago, he held my hand and said once I joined the Bureau, he’d get engaged to me.
I bit down hard.
Blood flooded my mouth.
For eighteen years, I suffered under my stepmother Valeria and Ivy, all to awaken my wolf soul.
I ignored Darian’s betrayal.
I only found out right now that today was their engagement party.
All I had to do was make it to tomorrow, join the Werewolf Investigation Bureau, and leave the Croft Pack.
But they wouldn’t even give me tomorrow.
“Relax, darling,” Ivy cooed. Then she cut me a vicious look. “Shove her into the forbidden abyss. The wolfsbane black fog down there will melt her into sludge. Not even the Moon Goddess will find her.”
She raised her foot and kicked me in the gut.
Weightlessness hit.
My body dropped straight into the dark.
Wind screamed in my ears.
Ivy’s face above me blurred. My mind started to unravel.
So this was my life, Elara Croft.
Weak. Swallowing it. Ending with nothing left, not even bones.
I refuse—
Thud.
Darkness swallowed everything.
{Elara Moon pov}
My name is Elara Moon.
Ancestor of the Moon Pack, fallen a hundred years ago.
Once upon a time, my name alone made the whole werewolf world shake.
A hundred years back, on the night of a lunar eclipse, thirteen of my allies betrayed me.
They tied me to a cross. Holy fire chewed through my body. Thirteen sigils fell from the sky and pinned me beneath this abyss.
My soul writhed down here for a century, devouring every poor bastard who stumbled in.
They got so terrified they sealed this place off as forbidden. No one dared take a single step.
I still needed at least a hundred more werewolves to stockpile enough juice to be reborn.
But today, an Omega woke me up all the way.
I opened my eyes.
I was reborn in the ruined body of an Omega named Elara Croft.
Abdomen pierced by silver, gland at the nape gouged out, multiple fractures, wolf soul ripped up by the roots.
An empty shell. Same name as me.
And a descendant of the Moon Pack.
Times really went to hell. A century later, my bloodline’s an Omega, living under someone else’s roof, can’t even protect herself.
Pathetic.
Fine. She brought me back. I’ll settle her score. Then I’ll go find those thirteen bastards and settle the old debt from a hundred years ago.
I rolled my neck and swept my gaze over the cliff wall.
A fist-sized crystal was wedged in a crack, pulsing dark red.
It was born from my body and power, nourished for a century—packed with supreme energy.
I pried it out and swallowed it whole.
Boom!
Savage power tore through me.
My stomach wound knitted shut.
The sliced-open gland sealed in an instant.
Bones shattered, inch by inch.
Then snapped back together in a blink.
Every reknit doubled my strength.
“Roooar—!”
A soul-shaking wolf howl ripped up my throat.
Dominance that puts every Alpha on its knees.
Pebbles rattled down from above.
A colossal white wolf phantom unfurled behind me.
Pure white from nose to tail. Eyes blazing gold and red.
[Master, I’ve waited a hundred years. You finally woke me!]
She threw her head back and howled. The wolfsbane black fog, the kind that could melt even top Alphas into sludge, scattered like it had just met its king.
My sovereign white wolf soul, Seraphina, awakened.
I landed on my feet.
Flexed my fingers.
Power flooded back into me.
Hell yeah.
“Ivy Croft. Darian… You have no idea. You thought you killed trash, but you woke a demon.”
I smirked and got ready to launch out of the abyss.
“Whimper… whimper…”
A thin, muffled sound drifted from a pile of broken rocks nearby.
I frowned. Since when did something alive sneak into this pit?
And I didn’t sense it at all.
Interesting.
I followed the sound and flipped a boulder that weighed a few hundred pounds.
A tiny wolf pup stared back at me—snow white, with a little tuft of gold fur between its brows.
Blood stained the corner of its mouth. Hurt, eyes half-lidded, body curled tight.
That bloodline… not ordinary.
I grabbed it by the scruff and lifted it up.
Its eyes popped wide. All four paws flailed in the air, and it let out a garbled whine.
“Little guy, you’ve got guts, sneaking into a forbidden zone.”
I gave it a once-over. Nasty internal injuries.
I dug a smaller crystal out of the cliff and shoved it into its mouth.
“Open up!”
The pup froze, then swallowed on instinct.
Suddenly, its golden pupils shrank.
“Wuu—!”
It thrashed, snapped at my fingers with its tiny, fake-ferocious mouth.
All puffed up, fur bristling.
Goddamn, how is anything this cute.
I, Elara Moon—who wiped out three major Packs a century ago, hands stained enough to dye the whole Silvermoon River red, the monster everyone whispered about—
Now I just wanted to squish this angry puffball out of shape.
“Hey, got quite a temper, huh?” I rubbed its chubby cheeks with a fingertip, then pinched those fluffy triangle ears. “Biting your savior? Careful, or I’ll eat you.”
The little white wolf froze solid.
Seraphina’s aura rolled over it.
Under absolute bloodline suppression, its ears drooped. It let me manhandle it, eyes burning with aggrieved fury.
I tucked it into my arms.
“Let’s go.”
I sprang upward, moonlight pouring down from above.

Chapter 2 — Yanking The King's Ear

{Kael Storm’s POV}
Pain.
A ripping agony tore through my nerves.
I snapped my eyes open.
Gasped for air.
Cold sweat slid from my temple and dripped onto my jet-black suit jacket.
The car was dead silent.
The Rolls sat on the road outside the restricted zone, engine purring low.
I’m Kael Storm.
Lycan King of the werewolf world.
But things are boiling under the surface. Packs are getting antsy. I’m staying in the shadows as an LBI executive, watching everything.
LBI—the Lycan Bureau of Investigation. It answers only to the throne and can dig into any Pack’s business.
Lately, the abyss in the restricted zone has been acting up nonstop.
Rook, my beta, drove us here. I summoned my wolf-spirit avatar, Liora, to dive to the bottom and suppress the wraiths.
Down there, wolftoxin black mist smothers everything—thick enough to rot a top Alpha’s glands in three seconds.
Only Liora’s unique body can handle it.
This disturbance wasn’t like the others.
At the bottom, Liora sensed something waking up.
Ancient. Terrifying. Something that shouldn’t exist anymore.
[Master, in the abyss there—]
A pillar of light exploded from the depths.
Liora’s voice cut out.
Blood filled my mouth. I spat.
The light slammed into Liora.
Her power got force-sealed. Her body shrank fast, regressing into a cub.
I shut my eyes, forced the blood roiling in my chest back down, and tried to reconnect with Liora.
Suddenly.
A grip on the back of the neck.
A hard drop. Weightless.
My real body jolted with it.
Someone had Liora by the scruff.
Who.
[Liora, how the hell is anything alive down there?]
I tried to talk to my wolf, but got nothing back.
Instead, heat flooded in.
A high-density crystal stone got shoved straight into Liora’s belly.
My brow knotted hard.
In this state, Liora couldn’t absorb power like that.
The crystal would force-lock her mind and drop her into deep sleep.
Then I’d have no way to call her back.
[Liora, listen up.] I rammed the command through the link. [Fight back with everything you’ve got. Don’t you dare embarrass me.]
I forced Liora to resist. Opened her jaws. Aimed for the hand holding her.
Bite.
Ready to shred the reckless fool to pieces.
Next second—
A fingertip pinched Liora’s cheek.
Rubbed.
A wave of shame shot up the bond and slammed into my brain.
The right side of my face went hot.
…How dare she.
I clenched my fists till my knuckles popped.
The finger got bolder.
Moved from cheek to ear. Two fingers grabbed the furry triangle and rubbed hard.
A tingling started at the tip and ran down my spine.
My ears burned.
A Lycan King should never react like this.
But Liora’s body loved it.
[Master, this big sister rubs so nice. She smells so good. I wanna sleep in her arms.]
[Shut up.]
[But she really smells amazing… Don’t you smell it, Master? Like moonlight on snow…]
[You’re my wolf-spirit. Keep some damn dignity.]
[But she’s so warm…]
Pathetic.
“You dare bite your savior? Keep it up and I’ll eat you alive.”
A woman’s voice.
Cool.
Arrogant.
Laced with a pressure that crushed everything under it.
My hand yanked at my shirt.
My heart went feral.
That was bloodline suppression from the Supreme White Wolf, gone for a century.
After the last ancestor of Moon Pack was put down a hundred years ago by the Thirteen Packs together,
there shouldn’t be a single white wolf left.
Liora froze.
So did I.
Humiliation.
Fury.
Bloodlust.
And a twitch I couldn’t name.
My heartbeat stumbled. Then sped up.
Damn it.
“My King!”
“Call me Alpha.”
Up front, Rook whipped around, tense. “Alpha, you look rough. Did the wraiths break the seal?”
“Someone…” I ground out.
“Is yanking my damn ear.”
The air froze.
“What?!” Rook’s eyes bulged.
“Who would dare? Isn’t Liora in the abyss? No one survives there—hell, not even a top Alpha, except her!”
“I said,” I cut him off, “there’s a living person in that abyss, and she’s yanking my ear.”
Rook shut up.
I closed my eyes again, feeling for Liora.
The wolftoxin fog in the abyss was plummeting. That all-corroding poison was thinning out, like something was forcing it away.
No.
The fog was bowing to that woman.
In a blink, I flashed to the rim of the abyss. It was empty.
The seal on the zone had loosened.
The century-old marks of suppression remained, but what they held was gone.
I felt for Liora again.
Soft fabric.
Warm body heat.
A steady heartbeat.
Liora had actually curled up in that woman’s arms and fallen asleep.
Spineless.
Fuck.
My eyes snapped open. Killing intent ripped off me in waves. Golden wolf eyes flared in the dark. Pebbles shook loose from the cliff.
I blinked back into the car.
“Drive.”
“Alpha, where?” Rook was still reeling.
“Croft Pack.”
I said it cold.
Rook blinked.
“Croft? That third-rate little Pack? Why—”
“That scent.” I shut my eyes, tracking where Liora was moving.
Blood. Wolftoxin. And… a clean note that smothered the rage that never stops churning in me.
“It’s heading to Croft Pack.”
Rook didn’t ask again.
The Rolls growled and shot into the night.
I leaned back, fingers pressing my temple.
That cool, arrogant voice kept echoing in my head.
The Supreme White Wolf.
The ancestor of Moon Pack was suppressed a hundred years ago. No way she’s back.
Thirteen Packs sealed it. A century of wolftoxin in the abyss. Anything should’ve turned to dust.
But that bloodline pressure doesn’t lie.
“Rook.”
“Yes.”
“Pull the last three days of surveillance on the zone. And any recent anomaly reports from Croft Pack.”
“On it.” Rook paused, glanced at me in the mirror. “Alpha… Liora, she…”
“She’s asleep. In someone else’s arms.” My voice was ice.
Rook went quiet for three beats.
“…I’ll step on it.”

Chapter 3 — Blood For Blood

{Elara Moon pov}
The Croft Pack estate blazed with light.
Today was the day Elara Croft was supposed to die—and Ivy’s engagement party.
I stood in the dark outside, listening to the music and laughter rolling out of the house.
“That jinx Elara finally croaked. Ivy awakened the Moon Goddess bloodline—now that’s something our Croft Pack can be proud of!”
My so-called father, Victor Croft, was loud enough to hear through two doors.
He was beaming, glass raised high, showing Ivy off to the guests.
In a pure white gown, Ivy held Darian’s arm, smiling all sweet and delicate. “Dad, even though Sis is gone, I’ll take care of you in her place. It’s just a shame about Moonlight Manor—that was the only thing her mom left her…”
“Since she’s dead, Moonlight Manor is yours,” Victor said with a grand wave.
What a touching scene.
I almost clapped.
Bang!
I kicked the great hall’s wooden doors. Both doors flew off and slammed into the towering champagne tower in the center of the hall. Glass exploded. Screams erupted. “Who said I was dead?”
Silence fell like a hammer.
Hundreds of eyes—shocked, blank, pissed—snapped to the doorway.
I walked in barefoot, backlit by the glare. My white dress was soaked dark red with blood, hanging off me in tatters.
The little white wolf cub in my arms, jostled by the impact, wriggled in protest, then flopped back down like it was over everything.
“E… Elara?!” Ivy screamed. Her glass shattered on the floor. Her face drained of color.
“A ghost!” my stepmother Valeria yelped, ducking behind Victor.
“Ungrateful brat!” Victor didn’t look happy to see me—he looked furious.
“What are you doing coming back looking like a damn ghost? Trying to humiliate me?”
I ignored him and locked on Ivy. I took one step, then another, leaving a trail of bloody footprints on the marble.
A few Beta bodyguards lunged, growling.
I didn’t even look their way. My fingers flicked, tapping each of them at the base of the neck.
Grunts. Bodies hit the floor. Three seconds flat.
Silence, again.
I stopped in front of Ivy.
Staring at the terror in her eyes, a thought struck me.
Darian suddenly jumped in front of her, his Alpha pressure slamming toward me like a wave. “Elara, since you’re not dead, you should’ve crawled into a ditch and stayed there. You think you get to stir up shit?”
“Not your call.” I tilted my head. My right hand shot past him like lightning and closed around Ivy’s throat.
“Not yours.”
His Alpha aura fizzled out in front of me.
Pathetic.
He thought that little Alpha juice could make me bow.
“Mmph—!” I lifted Ivy off the floor. Her legs kicked weakly in the air.
“Stop!” Darian’s face went white.
I ignored him. With my left hand, I pulled a greasepaper-wrapped lump of rotten meat from my pocket, its stench gag-inducing.
I pried Ivy’s jaw open and shoved it in.
“An engagement gift I brought you back from the Abyss, little sister. Swallow.” I whispered it right against her ear.
Ivy gagged wetly, tears streaming.
“You… you lunatic!” Victor shoved through the crowd toward me, shaking with rage.
A heavier wall of Alpha pressure crashed over us, thick with the fury of a man used to being on top.
I didn’t budge.
I let Ivy go. She crumpled to the floor. I turned my head to Victor’s well-kept face and spoke, pure contempt. “Victor, how’s it feel living high off my mother Emily Voss’s inheritance all these years?”
I paused, a smile curling at my lips.
“You pretty-boy leech who only knows how to live off women.”
“You—!” Victor’s rage spiked. He choked and spat blood.
Guests gasped all around us.
I slapped a document against his face.
“This is the property transfer for Moonlight Manor. Sign it, and get the hell out of my house.”
Victor’s lips trembled. He still wanted to fight.
Fine. Let’s spice it up.
I pulled out the silver dagger Ivy used to stab me.
I wrapped my hand around the hilt, aimed at my left shoulder, and drove it in.
Steel bit flesh. My face didn’t even twitch.
“Ahhh—!”
Ivy’s scream tore through the hall.
She clutched her left shoulder and writhed on the floor in agony.
Blood seeped through her gown at the exact same spot as my wound.
The guests started screaming too.
Pain Link. A cause-and-effect art.
Every pain you’ve put on this body, I can pay back twice.
“Demon! She’s a demon!” Valeria pointed at me, voice shaking.
I yanked the dagger out.
The wound on my shoulder knit shut fast.
Ivy was nearly out cold from the pain.
I fisted her hair and dragged her like a dead dog to Victor’s feet.
I tossed the transfer at him again.
“Sign.”
“Pain Link…” Victor pointed at me, shaking. “You ungrateful brat… you actually learned a forbidden art!”
He tried to throw his Alpha pressure again.
Suddenly, a different pressure dropped from above.
Not jittery like Darian’s. Not blustering like Victor’s.
This Alpha presence was heavy, ancient, and absolute—pure, undisputed dominance that swallowed the whole estate in an instant.
Every wolf there, Alpha or Beta, felt their knees go weak.
Thud. Thud.
All around the hall, people dropped to their knees.
Except me, not a single one was left standing.
“L… LBI executive?” Victor lay flat on the floor, voice trembling.
A black Rolls-Royce idled at the front steps, the LBI badge glinting under flashing police lights.
That aura carried the tang of abyssal wolf poison.
In my arms, the sleeping cub stirred, uneasy, and let out a thin whimper.
