Chapter 1 — PROLOGUE

PROLOGUE
"What are these?" he asked me through his gritting teeth while holding the small bottle tightly.

"Th-that's..." I stuttered in response. My heart is beating so fast I see white. He stepped closer and grabbed my arm tightly.

"Dammit! Answer me! Why are you taking pills?! I thought this was what you wanted?!" his eyes were pinning me with hatred. I was on the verge of tears.

"I-It's---" I tried to speak, but my voice left out of my mouth. I jumped when he suddenly threw the bottle of contraceptive pills against the wall. His voice booming around us. I closed my eyes, silently praying for all of this to be over.

"Answer me! I thought you wanted to get pregnant?! You have to be pregnant! Why?! Have you found someone else?! Is he richer than me?! Smarter?! Extra attractive? Can he make you spasm?" He smiled at his last question, which made my whole face feel hot. I can't let him humiliate me again. I have to make my stand.

"I-It's not like that. I-I'm withdrawing from our agreement." I told him as I lowered my gaze. He seized my arm again and pushed me against the bed, his muscular body above mine, demanding my full attention .

"You can't back out now! Not now, not ever! It's in the contract that if you don't obey what we've discussed, your vegetated boyfriend won't be able to stay with you! That machine is the only thing that keeps him alive, I can make a stop to that machine," he looked me straight into the eyes threatening me with his stare. He smirked as he saw defeat in my eyes. He lowered his face and brushed his nose against my neck , inhaling my scent. "I'm not letting you go," he whispered.

"But he won't be happy if he finds out," I cried quietly. I can't leave, for I know better than anyone else, he could carry out his threat. I can't let anything wrong happen to my beloved . He's the only one I have now, and I won't let him go either.

"You should've thought of that before you agreed to be my baby maker. You should've thought of that before you gave up your whole being," His eyes wandered through my body. "I sympathize with your withered boyfriend, I have licked you all over before he had the chance to do so. You can't have cold feet now or I'll end your lover and I will make your life miserable," he smiled maliciously, then violently ripped my nightgown. I closed my eyes and let him be. If I retaliate now, he will do worse. I felt his hands gently digging over my skin.

"You're a beast," I calmly told him as he busied himself exploring all the depths of my body.

"I know and I like it," He replied, smiling. I closed my eyes and prayed for all of this to be over soon. All of this, including the feelings, slowly growing in my heart. This felt so wrong, I already have someone arranged for me, and he's waiting for me.

Chapter 2 — I

*HARRA
"Hija, your boyfriend's body isn't responding anymore. It's only the machine that's sustaining him. I'm afraid the chances of him waking up is very slim," the doctor stated sadly. I shook my head and smiled at her.

"Doc, if you're implying that I have to give him up, I won't do it. Even if it takes ten more years of him lying there, I'll still wait for him to wake up. Don't worry because I'll pay. As long as his heart is beating, whether it's faint or very weak, as long as his heart is beating, I'll keep hoping that he'll return," I replied softly to the doctor while looking at Yul. She sighed and nodded. She gave me more of Yul's status before leaving. I caressed his emaciated cheek; his once muscular body became limp and lanky. I felt a tear escaping my eye.

"Yul, even if I get into debt as long as you can stay with me... even like this, I don't mind. I can't lose you as well. I'll wait for you. I won't get tired of taking care and waiting for you," I told him, then kissed his pale hand. I brought it close to my cheek. I smiled as he seemed to be caressing me. I cried into his hand, telling him stories of how I am these days. He's the only person who hasn't turned his back on me, and I'll do the same. I won't give up! I was busy talking to him when my alarm went off. It was time to go to work. I groaned. I don't want to go yet.

"Yul, I'm leaving again. But I'll be right back, I'll need to go to work for you. I love you. Wait for me," I whispered as I kissed him on the forehead. I glanced at him once more before finally deciding to leave. I was about to go when my eyes caught sight of the gathering and screaming of women from a distance. I was curious, so I approached and stared at whatever was there.

"What's going on?" I asked the woman next to me, who kept squealing at something. She looked at me and pulled me closer.

"It's Neien Geryon! He's inside! Looking for a surrogate mother! My gosh! If it's him, I'll let him mess me up for free! I'll even bear his child!" she screeched while pulling me fiercely. My arm was about to be detached from my body. Does he not have a partner?

"Who is he?" I asked again.

"Do you not watch the news or read magazines?" her left brow arched as she asked. I shrugged my shoulders. Her jaw dropped, probably shocked that there was someone extra ignorant than her. "He was the heir of the largest business empire not just in this country but abroad as well. He's a multi-talented, outstanding CEO and one of the youngest as well. If I state each of his achievements now, it will take us weeks!" she exclaimed frustratedly.

"If he's that famous and great, why is he still looking for a surrogate mother? He can just simply have anyone he wants," I told her. She laughed at me.

"You simply don't know how rich people's minds work," she answered and turned her attention back to the room where the supreme Alpha is in.

"Not worth my time," I told myself and went to where I work. I work at this Exclusive Bar as staff sometimes if we're short-staffed like today I work on the floor. In my mid-20s, this is my first job as Yul never let me lift a finger before. He provided me with everything I needed. It was a complete 180 from the life I used to have, but I'm still thankful that they let me work here despite not having any work experience and even gave me a good salary to support my daily life and to pay for hospital bills. I was busy serving drinks to our customers when Mama Lia, the manager, approached me.

"Harra, come here. I have something to say," She called, then gently pulled me closer to her. We stopped in front of a table, and I was suddenly nervous. I've never served customers as a hostess. I' ve heard scary stories from them, and I'm scared to experience those horrible things.

"Mama Lia, I don't sit with customers," I cried hushedly as I pleaded with her. She smiled at me and caressed my hair.

"Calm down. This is my almost-nephew, he wants to offer a job. I thought of you right away so I'm sending you here. Don't you need a lot of money? Listen to him first. If you don 't want to, it's fine, we'll have somebody else," she waited for me to agree before leaving me alone with this stranger. I nodded, and she smiled then left.

"So Miss Harra, I'm Darin. I work as a secretary. My boss saw you earlier and he requested your presence with him. He was quite antsy because he wasn't able to go after you. Would you like to come with me?" He urged me politely as he held my elbow, helping me to stand. I immediately shrugged and took steps away from him. My hands were shaking. I don't even know this man!

"I don't want to! And whoever your crazy boss is, tell him I'm not interested in him!" I told him angrily and turned my back on him. It didn't even take me steps when he decided to speak again.

"Your comatose boyfriend's life depends on him," he declared. I shifted my gaze to him as I threatened him with the most intimidating look I can muster.

"WHAT?! Who are you? What the hell do you want?" I asked fiercely, hiding my nervousness.

"Come with me and my boss will explain everything to you. Boss is quite an impatient man. He doesn't appreciate waiting for other people," he said formally as he glances at his wristwatch. I was just stunned. I didn't know what's going on and what I did to make this happen. Are they after me? Just who are they? My head was spinning with the possibilities of events that may occur.

Chapter 3 — II

The drink before him looks like it was about to boil as he stares at it. His knuckles turned white from the tightness of his grip on the glass. Tilting his head to the ceiling and letting out a heavy sigh. His expensive wristwatch feels like it is moving slowly as he watches it. He isn't used to waiting as his time is always gold. He fished his phone to call his secretary when his office door opened. His eyes focused on the woman he was waiting for. She stood behind his secretary, her head pinned to the ground. Truly like how she was described, a fragile woman. Seems like she has to be protected from the winds as it may scar her skin. Her delicate features failed to hide though she was wearing a dirty waist apron and an oversized shirt with messy tied hair. He was scanning her when his secretary cleared his throat.
"Boss, we're already here," his secretary smirked at him.
"Leave," he responded impatiently. His secretary kept smirking at him as he raised his brows. He finally left when he shot him a look. They're finally alone. He can just sense her though she was a bit far from him.
"W-what do you need from me?" her lips trembled as she spoke. The man can't help but toy her a little. He closed their distance and stared down at her.
"You're Harra, right? What took you so long?" he asked her as he stroked her cheek. She flinched and backed away.
"W-what!? Don't touch me!" she yelled at him furiously. His patience is so short that this ticked him immediately. He grabbed the woman and forcibly leaned her against the wall. He even heard her faint grunt, but he ignored it.
"You don't tell me what to do, I do," he brought his face closer to the terrified maiden and inhaled her fragrance. Her eyes gleamed with tears.
"P-please... I-if you need money I can't give you anything. II don't remember owing you anything!" she closed her eyes to avoid the intent stare from the stranger. She heard him click his tongue and felt him shift closer. Now she thinks if she ever forgot to pay on someone or owed them in some way that she forgot. If she did, when and how did that happen? So many wild thoughts run through her mind. She just hopes that she can come out of this alive and still able to work.
"Look at me," it was an authoritative command from him that she felt the need to immediately look at him. Her eyes met his, and now she felt terrorized. She crossed her arms as she felt cold sweats. Looking at his eyes sparked fear in her being. The familiar fear she felt somewhere at some point in her life. Her heartbeat started to race faster now than it was before, almost breaking her ribcage.
"W-why?" she mumbled as he gazed into his beautiful amber but emotionless eyes. It was beautiful, yet it looked like it was full of sorrow. The bags under his eyes made her wonder if the man had trouble sleeping. Though he has a sharp look, he has this worn-out aura on him.
"You need money for your comatose boyfriend, don't you?" his smile didn't reach his eyes, and it made her shiver. Her eyes widened as she stared at him. Did he have her investigated? What for? Did she really happen to owe them?
"H-how did you know?" she asked. The man smirked and caressed her cheeks. His touch was gentle, but she felt sick with every stroke.
"I have ways. Don't you know who I am?" the man queried again. The woman just shook her head and looked down. She even barely knows why she's here and how she got into this mess. "Oh, so there are real people who don't know me. Then let me introduce myself, I am Neien Thunder Geryon-" he smiled teasingly at the perplexed lady.
"Neien? The one looking for a surrogate mother?" she asked him, surprised that he was that great man they were squealing their lungs out about. He laughed at her gullibleness. She didn't know him for what he's known for. She knew him through the least expected way. His face quickly returned to his cold demeanor.
"Since you already know my purpose. Stop playing hard to get. Let's get straight to business. I want you to become my baby maker," there was no smile on his face as he told her. Harra was stunned for a moment, then snapped back. She pushed the man away from her and kicked him.
"Ridiculous! I'm not selling my body!" Harra yelled as she hurriedly went to the door. Shaking, she tried her best to reach the door and leave the place. But before she could get to the door, Neien dragged her into a room and then pushed her onto the bed. The room was dark, and the only light source was coming from the window seeping through the curtain. His eyes felt so empty that it made Harra retreat away to the headboard. She bit her lip to prevent the trembling voice she was holding in to escape.
"Don't you dare raise your voice on me! You don't yell at me, I do! If you don't want me to stop the machine that keeps your boyfriend alive, just conform to the agreement and sign the papers, "he furiously grabbed her leg and pinned her down.
"I-if I don't want to?!" Harra hissed at him. She wants to congratulate herself on trying to fight back against him. Neien stared at her and smiled devilishly.
"I'll make a way for you to agree. You won't like it when I'm mad," he smiled threateningly as he rested his body on top of hers and stroked her arm. "You'll have all the benefits if you choose to bear my child," he whispered, his hand slithered on her flat stomach. Harra whimpered, staring at the ceiling. She couldn't move because of the fear she felt. She felt like a bird in a cage once again .
