Chapter 1 — Xi Qingchuan, Aren't You a Bottom?

Xi Qingchuan’s grandmother was admitted to the hospital. He wasn’t picking up his phone, so I had no choice but to look for him at his office.
His attractive secretary frantically held me back at the door.
“Miss Xiao, I’m so sorry, but please wait outside for a moment. Our president’s in the middle of something now.”
“Why, is he showering?” We had been married for a while but his staff continued to address me as “Miss Xiao”. It must be something Xi Qingchuan had instructed them to do.
Granny had felt a sudden discomfort in her chest and had been warded. She only wanted to see Xi Qingchuan and no one else. What was I to do if I couldn’t find him?
I shoved the sexy secretary aside and marched right in without knocking. Trailing behind me was the frantic, high-pitched voice of the secretary.
“Miss Xiao, President, I…”
Wasn’t she overreacting a little? We were in Xi Qingchuan’s office. What could he be doing in there that was so embarrassing, that no one should be seeing?
Well. Funny, that. Because…
When I saw what was happening on the sofa before me, I immediately retracted what I had just thought.
What kind of bizarre and sensual picture was I seeing right before my eyes?
On the sofa. Two tall men, one mounted on the other, on the sofa.
Xi Qingchuan was the one below. He was naked from the waist up, the muscular lines of his back sensual and tempting. His pants had been pushed down so low, some form of pixelated censorship was going to be necessary. I could see the tattoo on his left ass cheek. I couldn’t tell exactly what he had tattooed on his ass. What I could see clearly was the hand fondling his right ass cheek.
In fact, I knew the man lying on top of him. It was his soft-spoken, fair-faced, pretty-looking personal assistant, Bai Yu.
Woah. I might have just come across a terrible secret.
The two men on the sofa heard the commotion and quickly got off the sofa.
Bai Yu’s handsome face flushed hot when he saw him. His neck and his face were both bright red.
Xi Qingchuan had gotten up from the sofa as well. He pulled up his pants, plucked his shirt off the back of the chair and put it on. Then, he glared at me sideways, through his long hair.
My legs turned to jelly instantly. I didn’t understand why I was the one feeling guilty. He was the one with a secret that I had just exposed.
“President, I couldn’t stop her,” his female secretary said with a teary voice. Bai Yu brushed past me, his face still colored a deep flush.
A hero knew when to pick his fights. I turned around and followed the two hurriedly, intent to make my escape.
It was then that I heard footsteps behind me. One hand circled my wrist and with a slight yank, pulled me into an embrace.
I smacked into Xi Qingchuan’s hard, muscular chest. My heart almost leapt right out of my body.
My mind was completely paralyzed at this point. I couldn’t even form proper sentences.
“I didn’t see anything. I won’t tell anyone anything. I’ll help you keep this a secret, I promise.”
He suddenly placed his hand on the small of my back. His palm was a scalding heat that burned like hot iron.
“What secret?” His white teeth flashed as he smiled.
“Erm, I’m not going to discriminate against you. When it comes to sexual preference, whether you like men or women, that’s all up to you…”
I was suddenly lifted into the air. He had lifted me off the ground, and then dumped me onto the sofa.
He pressed down on me. I couldn’t help but remember how Bai Yu had pressed down on him earlier.
His shirt was still unbuttoned. I could see his firm, muscular chest and his flat, muscled abdomen.
How could he be a bottom when he looked like this?
I thought I had only thought that in my head. But I had stupidly said it out loud as well.
He frowned.
“It looks like I really have to silence you.”
What did he mean by that?
I stopped thinking altogether. Xi Qingchuan’s face was pressing down towards me. His lips kissed mine.
It was as if I had been wearing a sweater knitted from wool of poor quality, and the sudden snap of static electricity had shocked me and fried my brain.
When I finally came to my senses, his tongue and the faint residue of alcohol had slipped between my teeth…
What was going on?
Wasn’t he a homosexual? Wasn’t he a bottom? Why was he fondling me as well?
We had been married for six months, and he hadn’t given me a proper look the entire time. But now, after I had walked right into his secret, he was…
Snap! My fishnet sweater became a beautiful tattered mess and slipped down my shoulder.
I stared at Xi Qingchuan’s handsome yet glacier-cold face, my eyes widening. Revelation suddenly dawned upon me.
This was a punishment.
The punishment for arriving at his office uninvited, barging in without knocking, and witnessing his secret.
“Xi Qingchuan,” I wriggled underneath him. “Let me go. I didn’t do it on purpose.”
“Stop moving. You’re making me excited,” his soft pants brushed my ear.
My words got stuck in my throat. I forced them out in a strained voice.
“You’re gay, why are you getting aroused by a woman!”
“Guess.” He gripped my bra and yanked, hard. The straps snapped, cutting the skin on my shoulders.
I yelled out in pain. The next moment, an even more intense agony erupted in another part of my body.
“Xi Qingchuan, aren’t you a bottom?” I clenched my teeth and shouted.

Chapter 2 — Can I Ask You a Question?

This must be a punishment. In fact, it wasn’t simply punishment. It was pure torture.
I had never experienced such pain in my life. I felt as if I had been run over by a train repeatedly when Xi Qingchuan finally climbed off me.
He had his back towards me while he dressed, his perfect, muscular back in full display.
As for myself, I sat on the sofa, with only a cushion hiding my chest.
My clothes had been torn apart and now lay tattered on the floor in shreds.
He walked over to the shelves, pulled out a shirt and threw it over me.
I immediately put it on, buttoning the shirt frantically.
I had no pants on though. I was wearing a woolen dress when I had first arrived. A one-piece attire.
Xi Qingchuan’s shirt might look big on me, but I couldn’t simply walk out without wearing anything underneath, baring my legs to the world.
I struggled to my feet, my entire body aching.
“I have no pants.”
He turned his head towards me and threw me a glance filled with irritation and scorn.
“I’ll get my secretary to hand you a pair later.”
“We wear different sizes. Her ass is bigger than mine.”
“I see you’re quite observant.” He buttoned up his shirt, fixed his tie, then shrugged on a suit jacket. He looked extremely presentable, as if he was a completely different man from the one who had acted like a beast a while ago.
He stood before the mirror, adjusting his attire and buttoning his cuffs carefully. His cufflinks dazzled under the light, almost blinding me.
I had just been assaulted for no good reason. I had to find out why.
“So.” I curled into myself on the sofa, hiding my legs under his oversized shirt. “I’m a beard then?”
The reflection of his good-looking face in the mirror displayed no emotions, neither joy nor anger.
Xi Qingchuan’s face wasn’t always devoid of expression. That only happened when he was dealing with me. I had seen him chatting with his friends once. His bright teeth had been in full display when he had smiled.
He didn’t answer me, so I took his silence as a yes.
No wonder. We’ had been married for six months. He hadn’t even batted an eyelid at me. He wasn’t interested in women at all.
So why had he treated me this way today?
Was it because I had wrecked his moment with Bai Yu? He had no other outlet for his urges, and that was why he had used me as one instead?
I don’t have any homosexual friends, so I was rather intrigued by it all.
“Xi Qingchuan, do men like you have urges towards women as well?”
“Men like me?” He finally decided to speak to me.
He was a vain one. He was taking all day with his tie. He could be folding a floral origami statement piece with the time he was taking.
“I’m not being discriminatory or anything. I’m just curious.”
“Are you calling me gay?” He finally deemed to grace me with a glance.
“What else should I be calling you?”
He burst out laughing.
“How did you find out?”
“Bai Yu was fondling your ass. Is there something else I should be looking out for?”
He approached me. His hands pressed heavily into the back of the sofa as he leaned over me, staring.
I couldn’t help but press myself further into the sofa.
His eyes froze over a spot on the sofa. I followed his gaze.
The sofa was made of a cream-colored fabric. It was an extremely pale creamy color. It was dirtied by a stain that I had made, from earlier.
I flushed hot red. Then I heard Xi Qingchuan ask.
“This your first time?”
Was it odd that it was my first time?
My fingers clenched tight around the hems of my oversized shirt. I kept quiet.
It was then that the door swung open. His attractive secretary said, “Mr. Xi, are these clothes acceptable?”
“Leave them there,” Xi Qingchuan said.
She shut the door when she left. She had flung a dress on me.
It was a pale coral color and made of knitted material. The sort of dress that clung to the body. I disliked such clothes.
I held onto the dress, muttering.
“I don’t like this color.”
“Why were you looking for me?” He ignored my comment.
That was when I remembered the reason I had come here.
“Granny has been hospitalized.”
“What happened to Granny?” The expression on his face shifted instantly. “Why didn’t you tell me earlier?”
“Did you give me a chance to say anything?” There was no time to nitpick over the dress’ color and style. I pulled the dress over myself.
Xi Qingchuan grabbed his mobile phone off his desk and marched out. After putting on the dress, I followed him, stumbling in my steps.
We came across Bai Yu as soon as we left the office. Xi Qingchuan said something to him in a hushed tone while I desperately stood a safe distance from them.
Xi Qingchuan turned towards me after he was done and saw how faraway I was standing from him.
“Are we that frightening?” He said, in a loud and extremely annoyed voice.
Yes. Besides, I knew their secret. Of course I was going to stay far, far away from them.
Bai Yu turned and gave me a look. His face turned red instantly.
He really blushed easily, that boy. It seemed that most good-looking boys were gay nowadays. What a pity.
What were the young, unmarried women to do in this day and age?
Women like the young lady Qiao Yi, who fell in and out of love on a daily basis. What should she do with herself?
Bai Yu was Xi Qingchuan’s personal assistant. He naturally followed us to the hospital as well.
We sat in the same car. I tactfully took the seat next to the driver while Bai Yu and Xi Qingchuan sat in the back.
Xi Qingchuan’s car was corporate transport. The seats in the back of the car faced one another. I snuck a look at them from the rearview mirror.
Bai Yu had a beautiful face and fair complexion. He was the typical Korean male beauty. Xi Qingchuan gave off slightly more complicated vibes. He wasn’t especially effeminate, nor was he very masculine. One might describe his looks as refreshing, his features delicate.
I had been taken aback when I had first met him prior to our engagement. How could a man look so handsome? I had wondered then.
After our wedding, I was taken aback once again. How could someone be so difficult to live with?
They looked the perfect match.
One beautiful, the other handsome. It was a pleasing sight, no matter how you looked at it.
Suddenly, I felt a hard kick to the back of my seat. No prize for the right guess. It was Xi Qingchuan.
He got me right in the ass. I was lucky the car seat was of sturdy build, or else my ass would be hurting pretty bad right now.
He had caught me stealing looks at them, and gotten angry.
What a petty man. What was wrong with having a few looks?
Sure, I had walked right into their secret affair, but I had paid a price for that too.
I had had my first time on a sofa in someone’s office.
When we reached the hospital, Xi Qingchuan got off the car hurriedly, leaving Bai Yu and me behind.
Bai Yu was still blushing as he stared at me. Boys who blushed really looked quite adorable. I might suffer the tragic fate of being a beard, but I couldn’t hate him at all for that.
I didn’t love Xi Qingchuan anyway, and he didn’t love me as well. We both knew why we had gotten married.
Bai Yu and I trailed behind as Xi Qingchuan marched ahead swiftly, without us. We took the same elevator. There was only the two of us inside.
I couldn’t hold back the overwhelming thirst for knowledge bubbling inside me anymore. I finally spoke while Bai Yu continued to stare straight ahead, leaving me only his profile.
“Assistant Bai.”
“Please, just call me Bai Yu,” he replied immediately.
“Alright.” I nodded. “Can I ask you something?”
“Please, go ahead.” He was so polite.
“I was wondering, between you and Xi Qingchuan, who’s the top and who’s the bottom?”

Chapter 3 — Casting Pearls Before Swine

Bai Yu had had his neck cranked as he watched the numbers on the elevator’s display panel change. He twisted his head towards me abruptly when he heard my question.
“What?”
“You were on top, so you should be the top. But Xi Qingchuan doesn’t seem like the sort who’s a bottom,” I muttered to myself.
His face was as red as Chinese rock star Cui Jian’s infamous blindfold. I couldn’t see beyond the red. It colored my sight and my world.
He licked his lips, his breath stuttering as if he were breathless.
“Miss Xiao, it’s not what you think it is…”
“Stop right there. That’s not what I’m trying to say,” I explained hastily. “I don’t care what’s going on between you and Xi Qingchuan. Besides, my relationship with Xi Qingchuan isn’t what you imagine it to be. You don’t have to worry at all. I was just curious.”
“Miss Xiao…” His cheeks were flushed, and his ears had turned red.
He looked like a ripened tomato. Fine, I’ll stop asking questions then.
The elevator doors opened. Bai Yu slipped out immediately, looking as if he had just escaped death.
The way he was walking looked rather odd though. It looked as if he was hurting.
An idea popped into my head as we approached the ward. Did some strenuous activity they had engaged in lead to discomfort in some part of his body? I jogged over, then poked the small of his back with my finger.
He turned around.
“Miss Xiao.”
I pulled out a tube of Vaseline from my purse and handed it over to him. He took it unthinkingly, then gave me a look of confusion.
“This is…”
“It’s really effective. Abrasions, cuts, even minor tears in the anus,” I whispered,” it’ll work on them all. Just apply it a few times a day. You’ll recover in no time.”
Bai Yu gripped the tube of Vaseline in his hand tightly. He seemed to be at a loss. It was then that Xi Qingchuan appeared at the entrance of the ward, shouting loudly.
“Xiao Sheng, what the hell are you doing?”
I shuddered frightfully, then hastily waved goodbye to Bai Yu.
“Remember to use it!”
Xi Qingchuan was frowning as I ran over. He glared at me.
“What did you give Bai Yu?”
“Vaseline.”
“What’s that?”
“It’s a moisturizer. You can use it as a lubricant as well, when the situation calls for it.” I couldn’t be more earnest. The look on Xi Qingchuan’s face was so thunderous, you’d think a storm was around the corner.
“Do you think this is funny? Xiao Sheng? You think you have something on me now?”
“I wouldn’t dare.” I raised my hands in surrender immediately. I looked into the ward. Granny was resting in a separate room inside while people crowded outside the room.
They were all from the Xi family. Xi Qingchuan’s brothers and sisters, their wives and husbands, the entire gang filling up the entire private ward.
He gripped my wrist tightly and led me through the crowd. His eldest and second eldest brothers greeted him. He appeared not to have noticed them.
This was the kind of man Xi Qingchuan was, with an arrogance that distanced him from his very own brothers.
He pulled me to Granny’s bedside. She had a blood clot. It wasn’t anything serious. But recently, she had given into her cravings and secretly eaten more slices of shortcake than she was allowed. That had led to sudden light-headedness, which had been why we had sent her to the hospital.
She looked fine now. She began dabbing at her tears when she saw Xi Qingchuan.
“My darling grandson, why didn’t you come sooner? A moment later, and you would’ve missed me.”
“Granny,” Xi Qingchuan said in a rare, gentle tone as he sat down by her bedside, “that’s complete nonsense. You just need to watch your diet in the future, and you’ll live to two hundred years old!”
“Won’t that make me a demon? Besides, where’s the fun in living if you only get to eat the boring stuff?”
Granny held onto Xi Qingchuan’s hand. Her eyes suddenly turned towards me.
“Hm? My dear Sheng Sheng wasn’t wearing this dress when you left! Why did you change out of your clothes?”
“Erm.” I didn’t expect Granny to be so observant. I was at a sudden loss for words, unsure of how to explain myself.
Her eyes suddenly widened. She smacked her thigh loudly, as if a revelation had just dawned upon her, and then laughed cheerfully.
“I know, I know. It’s alright to be late because of that.”
Blood rushed to my face then.
Granny continued teasing us while assuring us that she didn’t mind at all. Xi Qingchuan appeared visibly relieved.
He might have many flaws, but he was at least filial. He was Granny’s favorite amongst all her grandchildren.
The butler brought Granny’s dinner over. Plain porridge and pickled cucumber. Granny glanced at her dinner briefly, then turned her head to one side.
“Take this garbage away and throw it to the pigs. I’m not eating this.”
“Granny.” Xi Qingchuan’s eldest sister-in-law pushed her way through the crowd and took the thermos from the butler. “The doctor said that you almost fainted because you’ve been eating food that’s too greasy. You’ll have to keep to a healthier diet for the time being.”
“You’re the one filled with grease. My blood pressure skyrockets at the sight of you,” Granny said, waving her arms around wildly. “Get away from me.”
Out of all her daughters-in-law, Granny disliked my eldest sister-in-law the most. My eldest sister-in-law wasn’t very tactful. No one would enjoy listening to her when she put things across in such a manner.
Xi Qingchuan took the thermos and shoved it into my hands.
“Deal with this. I’ll wait for you outside.”
As if I had a way with Granny.
Granny was the nicest person to me in the family since I had married into the Xi family though. Her love for her favorite grandson must have spilled over to his wife.
Xi Qingchuan left the room. Gradually, the rest followed as well.
I twisted open the thermos and poured the porridge out. Granny’s face was dark as a thunderstorm.
“Get someone who likes this stuff to eat it. I’m not going to eat it.”
I held the porridge as I sat in front of Granny. Then, I scooped a spoonful up.
“Grandmother, do you wish to see me go?”
“What do you mean by that?” The old lady gave me a side glance. Every time she did that, one of her eyebrows would naturally twitch upwards. It was fascinating.
“Xi Qingchuan doesn’t like me. There’s no way you don’t know that. Now he’s given me this difficult task. If you don’t help me, he’ll definitely use this as an excuse to kick me out of the family. Granny, you won’t have anyone to play with you anymore after that.”
Granny stared at me like an owl, one eye narrowed and smaller than the other. She was probably weighing the pros and cons.
She thought for a long while, before she finally pouted and spoke.
“Fine, fine. It’s my fault for liking you. I’ll eat it.”
“Awesome!” I cheered as I handed the bowl of porridge over. “Granny, I’ll sneak some meat floss in tomorrow for you. It’ll make the porridge taste better.”
“You promise?” The old lady’s eyes burned when she heard the mention of meat.
I had some experience with old folks. I had one in my family as well. My father’s father. He disliked everyone else in the family, but he quite liked me.
The old lady was nearly done with her porridge. I picked up the thermos and came out from the ward.
Xi Qingchuan’s voice suddenly rang out beside me.
“Xiao Sheng.”
He startled me. I froze, then turned around.
“You nearly scared me to death.”
“Did Granny eat her porridge?”
“She almost emptied the entire thing,” I said, lifting the thermos up.
His eyebrows rose.
“I know you could deal with it.”
I took that as a compliment. I continued down the corridor with the thermos in my hand.
He threw something at me suddenly. I caught it without thinking. It was my tube of Vaseline.
“What are you trying to tell me?”
He brushed my shoulder as he walked past me, ignoring my question. I chased after him.
“Does this mean you’re the bottom?”
He stood at the lobby, waiting for the elevator. I thought for some time and finally decided to shove the Vaseline back into his hands.
“There, you need this more than I do. It really works, I swear.”
“Xiao Sheng!” He flung the Vaseline into the bin. A perfect shot. Then, he entered the elevator.
Every time I tried to be helpful, I ended up casting pearls before swine.
