Chapter 1

Dharani

POV

Now I am Mrs. Dharani Akash Mehra, sitting on his king sized bed and waiting for my husband to come. I don't know anything about my husband. I just know his name. I don't even know what he does or anything about him. It's an arrange marriage but I am happy that he helped me to come out of the hell and I will be thankful to him for this.
I came out of my thoughts when I heard the door sound. My heart started beating at its fastest rate. I can see him through my veil. He is coming near me and I am feeling goosebumps. But suddenly he held my hair in his fist.
"Ahhh" I cried in pain and he made me stand still holding my hair. What is he doing? Why is he hurting me?
He fisted my hair so tight that I thought my hair will come out of it's roots.
"What do you think of yourself?" he shouted at me angrily.
"What did I do?" I asked him and he left my hair and slapped me on my left cheek. The slap was so intense that I fell on the ground.
He came to me and held my hair again and made me look at him.
"Don't you dare to question me again or else I will make you regret for it" he said to me dangerously and slapped me again.
"What do you think that you can become my wife so easily? Did you look at yourself anytime in the mirror? Do you know how disgusting you look?" he said to me with so much hate.
It is usual for me to get abused but I never thought that my husband will also be one of them. Just now I thought I will be free from that prison but no. I came to another hell.
"I don't consider you as my wife! You don't even have the standards to become my maid" he said to me and I just stood numb listening to him.
"And remember one more thing never try to enter my room without my permission and you don't have right to stay in my room so get out if here" he yelled at me making me flinch at his tone.
I ran out of his room as soon as he left me. Tears are flowing down my cheeks. Why does this happen every time to me? Why God? Why? We sin have I done that you are punishing me like this?
I went to kitchen and sat in a corner. Even in that house I used to sleep in the kitchen but I never thought that the same will repeat again.
I don't know what is written in my fate but I can't live this life anymore. I want to die. I can't take this anymore but I remembered my grandma's words. She told me to be strong and fight for myself on her death bed. I was in my thoughts but soon I slept there in the corner of kitchen.
Akash
POV

Next day I woke up and went downstairs to check what she is doing. I looked for her everywhere and at last I came to kitchen and saw her sleeping at the corner of kitchen.
Finally she came to know what her place is. I took a jug full of water and threw it on her face. She woke up with a jerk. She rubbed her eyes and looked at me. I went near her and held her arm making her flinch and made her stand.
"Do you think you are a princess here that you are sleeping till now?" I asked her. She nodded her head in a no.
"Are you dumb?" I shouted her and she nodded in a no.
"Then tell me in words" I yelled at her.
"N.... no" she answered.
"Listen to me carefully. You are not my wife. You are just a maid in my house and you don't have any rights to live anywhere in this house. You are permitted only to the maid's room and you will do all the works of this house. One more thing, don't you dare to break these rules or else you will be punished" I said to her dangerously and she shivered listening to me. 'Good, she is in control' I thought and jerked her.
"Now go and prepare breakfast for me and yeah don't you dare to have your food before doing your work" I said to her and she nodded.
"Words" I shouted at her.
"Ye... yes" she answered looking down.
I left her came to my room. It's good that I convinced my parents that we will stay alone here. If she breaks any of the rules, then I will show her the hell.
I got freshen up and went downstairs and saw her arranging the dining table. She heard my footsteps and looked at me. I didn't care about her and went to dining table.
She served me my breakfast with shivering hands. I took a morsel and it tasted so you. So she is a very good cook too. I had my breakfast and turned to talk to her but she is not there.
"Where the hell are you?" I shouted and she came from the kitchen with juice.
I went to her and held her arm.
"What the hell are you doing inside the kitchen?" I shouted at her.
"I told you right? Not to have food until you complete your work? Then why are you drinking this?" I shouted at her and took the glass from her hand and threw it down making the galas break. She flinched to it.
"Tell me" I shouted at her.

Chapter 2

Dharani POV
*************
I served him his breakfast and waited for him to tell something but he didn't said anything and continued having his breakfast so I thought to bring him juice and went inside. I poured the juice in a glass just then I heard him shouting and I went outside the kitchen to see him fuming in anger. I gulped down looking at him like that. He came to me and held my hand tightly.
"What the hell are you doing inside the kitchen" he shouted me. He looked at the glass and thought that I was having the juice.
"Tell me" he asked me angrily.
"I.....I brought this for you" I told him but in a fraction of second he slapped me.
"Don't you dare to say lies to me" he said to me.
"I.....I am not lying. I really brought this for you" I told him crying.
"I told you right not to tell lies but you don't get anything at the first place right" he said and dragged me over the glass pieces.
"Ahh" I cried in pain but he didn't stopped and dragged me and took me towards a room. He pushed me inside the room.
"Stay here until I come home then you will get to know what will happen if you lie to me" he said and locked the door. I fell on the floor with thud. My husband is so cruel he is a beast. I remembered the day my marriage got fixed. I thought it was the happiest day of my life because I will come out of that hell but it is the most worst day.
Flashback
I was in the kitchen cooking the lunch for my family members and just then I heard the doorbell and went to open it. I opened the door and saw a man of my uncle's age.
"Yes" I asked him.
"I am here to talk to your uncle " he said to me and I invited him inside the house.
"Sir, please you sit here I will call him" I told him and went to uncle's room.
"Uncle some man Atul came to meet you" I said to him and he nodded his head and I came down.
"He is coming" I told him and went to kitchen.
Later uncle called me and I went to the hall.
"She is ajay's daughter" uncle said to him.
"Dharani he is your father's friend" he told me.
"Hello uncle" I said to him polietly.
"He came here to ask you for his son" uncle said to me and I felt happy for a moment that I will get out of this house.
"It's your choice" that uncle told me lovingly. I didn't said anything and looked at my uncle, he glared at me not to talk anything and I didn't said anything and looked down.
"She has no problem in marriage and she is ready for the marriage. Am I right Dharani?" Uncle asked me, No he is telling me to tell yes.
"Yes" I said slowly and then everyone congratulated each other and that man left us not before blessing me.
"Come to our house as quickly as possible" Uncle said to me and I nodded.
I came out of my thoughts when I accidentally hit my leg to something. I looked at me feet and they are bleeding I let out a dry chuckle and cleaned it with towel.
Later uncle said to me that marriage is tomorrow and warned me not to do any stupid thing. My sister uncle's daughter sanaya gave me a disgusting look and went away and even my brother uncle's son Avinash brother gave me the same look and left me. Why everyone hates me in this house. I don't know the reason for their hatred I am not beautiful and I am not a graduate too then why they hate me. I chucked my thoughts and slept in kitchen. Yeah it is my sleeping place and kept thinking how my husband will be. Is he nice or like my family no no if that uncle is sweet then his son would also be sweet. By the way what's his name I don't even know his name. I kept thinking and I don't know when I drifted into deep sleep.
Later at early morning I woke up and aunt asked me to wear a wedding dress and gave me a wedding dress. It's my mother's dress and now I came feel her she is with me.
Later we went to register office and I looked at my husband for the first time. He is so handsome and talking with someone in his phone. For a minute I thought I was not anyway matching to him. Because he is like greek god. Later they asked us to sign the marriage papers there I saw his name Akash Mehra and we exchanged the garlands. First time l looked his eyes, he have deep black eyes like midnight. Later my uncle came to me.
"Now there is no relation between you and us" uncle said and went away leaving me with them.
Later we went to his house and some of his cousins took me to his room and told me to wait there.
Flashback end
I came out of my thoughts. I sat there like that only while crying. I even didn't felt hungry because I spent so many days without eating then one day is not a problem for me. I looked around and got to know that it is a store room. I thought to look what is here but my feet are paining alot. So I dropped the idea and sat there. After so much time I heard the door opening sound and I looked at the person and there stands the devil of my life.
"Well! Well, I think you got some brains till now" he said to me coming towards me. It's like he is coming towards the prey. He fisted my hair making me wince in pain.
"Ahhhh", I screamed.

Chapter 3

Dharani POV

"I am impressed I thought you will try to get out of this room" he said to me. I am just looking down and crying.
"Now go and prepare food for me" he said and jerked me. I nodded and started walking but my feet are paining like hell. I somehow managed to walk to the kitchen and started making dinner. Later I prepared the dinner and arranged the table. I was about to call him but he came down and had his dinner silently. I just stood beside him though my feet are paining. He had his dinner and went to his room not even glancing at me. I cleaned the dining table and the cleaned the vessels. I don't have an appetite to have food so I didn't prepared for myself. He told me to use the common bathroom so I went to the bathroom and cleaned my feet and looked for any glass pieces luckily there are none. I went to kitchen and then took some turmeric powder and applied it on by injured feet it pains a lot but it will give relief quickly. I slept there on the floor of kitchen thinking what will happen tomorrow.
Akash POV

Whenever I looked at her big doe eyes it makes me feel something. Her doe eyes held innocent but I know she is not innocent, she is gold digger otherwise who will marry without seeing each other I sighed and sleep consumed me.
Next day as usual she cooked breakfast for me and I had it.
"You remember the rules right" I asked her and she nodded her head. This girl really test my patience.
"Words" I shouted at her.
"Yes" she said to me and I nodded and left from there.
I went to my cabin only to be welcomed by my beloved father note the sarcasm. It is all because of him I married that ugly girl. Really ugly? you didn't even saw her face clearly and you already like her big doe eyes my subconscious taunted me.
"Good morning Akash" dad greeted me and I did the same.
"So how is Dharani" he asked me.
"Who is Dharani dad" I asked him and he looked at me shocked. Why is he looking at me like that.
"Don't you know who Dharani is" he asked me. Is she that important person.
"No dad now tell me who is she" I asked him being irritated.
"Dharani is your wife Akash" he told me and I realized how big mistake I have done. I don't even know her name.
"Don't tell me that you don't know your wife name" he asked me raising an eyebrow.
"No actually I don't call her with her name I call her with nicknames so you know what I mean right" I got up with an excuse and he seemed to be ok with it and didn't asked me further questions.
Later, I finished my work and went to home only to see lying on the floor. I quickly went to her and patted her cheeks to wake her up but she is not waking up. I took her to the couch and called the doctor. Later doctor has arrived and checked her.
"What happened to her feet Akash" the doctor is my childhood friend so she calls me with my name.
"I don't know sanjana" I told her but I exactly know what happened to her.
"Okay let me check" she said and checked her feet and I saw bruises on her feet and she treated them.
"She is having fever and I gave her an injection and she will be fine" she said to me and I just nodded.
"Take care of her and apply the pain relief cream to her feet" she told me and I thanked her. Later she left and I went to my room without even glancing her. Why should I, she is not my wife and she is just a maid and why should I care about her I thought myself.
But i'm feeling very guilty so I went 2 or 3 times to check her and saw her sleeping peacefully on couch and I applied the pain relief cream in her feet then I came to my room and slept.
Next day I got ready and went down to see her coming outside the kitchen with breakfast. She didn't noticed me and continued her work. I too didn't cared about her and later had my breakfast and left from there.
Dharani POV

I woke up and felt something soft under me. I opened my eyes and saw I am lying on a couch.
Oh god
What have I done and how I slept here. I got up with a jerk and looked for him. If he sees me like this then he will punish me. I got down and felt something under my feet and saw bandage to it. It means my husband treated my wounds and placed me on the couch. I am feeling so happy that he is caring for me. After my parents death I never got love and care from my family and I always craved for love but never got it. I did my morning chores and went to kitchen to make breakfast and I prepared the breakfast and served to him. I thought he will ask me about my wounds but he didn't said anything and left for office. Maybe he is not into expressing emotions. I chucked at my thoughts and did the house chores and had my breakfast as he instructed.
Like this one week passed and he didn't talked to me once. I too didn't tried to talk to him because I am afraid of him what if he hits me or shouts me.
I was in his room cleaning and I heard someone calling my name.
"Dharani" I heard a voice and turned to see who is he. I saw Akash coming inside the room fuming.
He came to me and THAP....he slapped me with such an intense that I fell on ground. He bend down to my level.
"Why did you touched my things" he shouted at me and again slapped me.
"What are you talking about" I asked him.
"Why did you misplaced my files I told you not to touch my things then why the hell you did it" he yelled at me.
"I didn't do anything" I told him in a low voice.
"Don't you dare to tell lies. I already told you not to break the rules and you will get the punishment I think it's time for it" he said to me and took his belt. I gulped thinking what will happen next.
"Please listen to me I didn't misplaced your files I just put them in an order.
"Please" my words were cut off as he slapped me.
"Ahhh" I cried in pain. He slapped me again. Then he left me, after warning don't touch my things.
