The Moons Gift
Olivia Morgan is a seventeen-year-old alpha's daughter, a Siren shifter. She has been dreaming of her mate to have a bond as strong as her parents do. Being a cheerleader and a little to the nerd side, she is well-loved by everyone, but the one person who was...
Chapter 1 : Cornal high
Prologue
Every supernatural creature was told a story when they were children about a great gift that was given to them.
This gift is truly precious, for it is their other half, the other part of their own soul, and it is called a mate.
But since the war that took place long ago, the Elders have forbidden mating between the species of the supernatural world. So since that day when the declaration was signed between werewolves, sirens, warlocks, fae, dragons, and many others, many unfortunate mates who had found each other were abandoned by their other halves
The Moon Goodness saw what her creations were doing and wasn't pleased by it. As time passed by and many hearts and souls were broken, she decided to take matters into her own hands and try to change things for the better.

Chapter 1 Cornal high
“Olivia, wake up!“
Groaning and turning in my bed, hearing my mother's yelling from downstairs, I took the cover and toss it over my head as the warmth and comfort of my lovely bed engulfed me and lulled me slowly back to sleep again.
The door slammed open and the cover got ripped off from my body as hands grabbed and started to tickle my sides. Tossing and turning and laughing out as my brother was so merciless with his tickle assault.
“Wake up sleepy head.“
“JAMES!! STOP IT!!“ “What's the fun in that?“
“Please stop it, I'm up! I'm up!“
Chuckling, my brother stopped and looked me over smiling.
“You're lucky I was the one to get in your room to wake you up, if it was mom she would carry a bucket of water and just splash it all over you." “No, she wouldn't."
“Oh, I saw her getting the bucket already, but if next time you would rather want her to wake you up, okay no problem.
Anyway, you're gonna be late for school if you don't get up already." Looking at my alarm clock I saw I had 20 minutes to get ready so I wasted no time in getting up and running to my bathroom. I don't believe I ever had the fastest shower in my life.
Brushing my teeth, doing my hair, and light makeup, I peeked in my room to see if James was still inside but seeing as he wasn't I got out and went to my closet to dress in my favorite jeans and white crop top.
Taking a last glance at my clock, I saw I still had a few minutes left, so I grabbed my shoes and my bag and rushed downstairs to the kitchen where I found my mother by the stove preparing breakfast for us.
“Ollie, did you forgot to set your alarm again?" my mother asked as she brought a plate of pancakes on the table for me to eat. “I'm sorry mom but I was talking to Lizzy over Skype last night and I just forgot about it."
“How is Lizzy doing?“ Lizzy is my best friend since we went together to the kindergarten.
She and her family went to visit her grandparents as their flock is having their annual swimming, and having a family swim especially the first spring and summer ones, are most important especially in the world of Sirens.
“She is great, as she is preparing for the swim around for tomorrow.“
“Oh that sounds wonderful, am sure she will love it.“
As I am eating pancakes, my brother came into the kitchen and kissed our mom on her cheek, and took a fork in his hand. I looked at him suspiciously as he was nearing my seat, and next, he did, he took a piece of my pancake and showed it into his mouth.
“JAMES!!“
“Mmmm...these are amazing mom.“ “Mom tell James to take his own plate with pancakes, he is stealing mine.
“ Mom just looked at us and chuckled, shaking her head.
“Okay, you ready and done as we have to go?" James asked me as he took his bag and tossed it over his shoulder.
“Yeah am done. Thank's mom, it was delicious!“
“You're welcome, honey. Have a good day both of you and James don't cause Mr.Pinkle trouble."
“Oh come on mom! Even you can't be serious when you say his name!" “I mean it, James!" “Yes okay, I'll be an angel."
I scoffed when I heard my brother say that. We continued on to his car and drove off to our school.
We are shifters, to clear it out, and to clear it more, we are Sirens. Our school is a mix of supernatural creatures and humans so basically no “beasting out" is allowed as our secret as what we are, needs to stay as that, a secret.
We don't particularly mix with other supernaturals as we like it more to stay in our own groups.
“Olivia!“ I heard a loud call for me from one of my friends Mandy.
Turning around I saw Mandy running towards me with her books pressed tightly to her chest and little behind her is Annie my other friend who was also running.
Mandy and Annie are from my family's flock. Mandy's family is the beta of our flock, while Annie's are warriors.
They both were beautiful inside and out.
Mandy with her gold long hair till the middle of her back, with her hazel eyes and darker tanned skin, while Annie was a tanned skin tone, and has the same length hair, only it was dark almost raven-colored like with blue eyes.
They both were truly attractive and tall. Being a shifter it was natural to be attractive just some were more some were less. “O my God, have you heard yet?“ Mandy was out of breath as she came to me and hurriedly asked me.
“Heard what? I just got here." I chuckled at her. James got out of the car and smiled, and said hi to both of the girls while they both sighed, watching at him. Yes, he was my brother and alpha at that, but come on.
“Hello, ladies. How are you both today?" smiling, James winked and asked Mandy and Annie. It was funny to watch them go mute and crimson red. “James, stop teasing my friends," I said firmly to him. He chuckled and shook his head
"I only said hi. Okay, I see Tyler and Max so I'll see you at lunch later." He kissed my forehead and moved along to meet with his friends. “He is so dreamy!“ Mandy looked after James with a twinkle in her eyes.
"Don't want to spoil your bubble, but back to the topic. You were saying something?" I asked Mandy. "Oh yes! Well, it seems the Cornal high school is down, so all the students from there are transferred to continue in our school.
" Mandy said. "Why is that?" I asked her. "Seems that their building has burned down and collapsed on one side so it is fully out of order," Mandy said. Gasping at the news, I couldn't believe what she told me. “O my God! What happened? How did that even happen?”
I was so curious to hear more of the school and all events that followed that story. Mandy leaned over closer to my ear and whispered “Seems that some group of their students got little carried away with matches.”
Winking at me she leaned back. Wow, I just couldn't believe what she said. Who would be so stupid to go and just burn down the high school? The school bell rang. Taking my bag, I followed Mandy and Annie inside.
The corridors were crowded by students. Some whispering the news, Mandy just told me, some giggling, and some looking at the front gates to see new arrival students that will be attending our school with us.
"Students please all gather in the gym and take a seat on the bleachers there, while principal Bennett arrives and gives his announcement. Thank you."
The speaker sounded through the school corridor. Looking over at Mandy and Annie, we set off towards the Gym class and took a seat in the third row on the bleachers. I saw my brother and his crew sitting higher above us as they goofed around, and few cheerleaders flirted and giggled at them.
Rolling my eyes, I turned forward as we all waited on Mr. Bennett. Finally, a few minutes later, Mr. Bennett arrived at the podium that was set in the middle of the courtyard and got closer to the microphone there. "Hello everyone.
Thank you so much for coming in here today as I have an important announcement to give to you all. Getting straight to the point for no further delay, I wanted to tell you all that our school has taken over students of a Cornal high school as their school is for the time being closed down for its renovation.
I expect each one of you to welcome and treat the newcomers with respect and kindness as all the rules our school has, still applies to both sides, you and the newcomers." As the speech was given, the new students entered the gym classroom and took their seats.
“Do you smell something?” I turned to Mandy and asked her. She looked at me confused and took a sniff but shook her head as to say no and I didn't miss her "your crazy" look she threw at me. Shaking my head and straightening up my back, I felt as someone was watching me. Looking around I couldn’t seem to find anyone looking my way.
James nods his head at me as he saw me looking around and silently asking if all is ok, and I nod my head back smiling as yes. "So I expect you all to behave the best way possible, no fights, nor rivals, and of course study hard.
You all are dismissed and can go to your classes. Thank you." Mr. Bennett said as he took the leave from the gym. We all stood up and slowly descended to our classes. Weird was I couldn’t shake off that feeling as I have been carefully watched over.
Mandy must be right, maybe I am getting antsy, well can anyone blame me? My birthday is coming up this weekend.
Chapter 2 : Lunch break
An entire week went by and more and more I was feeling restless.
That feeling of being watched never seemed to go away plus now and then, I would catch the whiff of that intoxicating smell I couldn't get enough off.
The only problem is I never got to find out the source of that smell.
As Sirens mature fully on their 18 birthday, that is an age they get to find their own mates, Ollie’s siren was still being quiet but she could feel her emotions.
It is Friday and that is the best day of the week in my opinion. And why is that? Simple, the weekend is next which means no school day.
Putting my books in my locker and preparing others for her next class, I was feeling goosebumps prickle at my skin, so I turned around to look, but as always I couldn’t see anything unusual.
“Looking for someone?”
Closing my locker I saw Mandy.
Smiling at my friend I just shrugged my shoulders “Just can’t shake that feeling, as someone is watching me nonstop, away.”
Mandy looked around and saw some new kids that joined in their school at the beginning of this week but other than them no one was looking their way.
"I think someone is a little too excited for this weekend." She teased as she winked at me.
Rolling my eyes at her, I just shrugged my shoulders at that again.
“O my God, you might find your mate this weekend. I wonder who it will be. Maybe Tyson? He is always looking at you and he is super-hot…after your brother.” She giggled.
Looking at her, I rolled my eyes at that and chuckled.
“You are acting as it is your birthday.”
“In few more weeks it will be and then I get to find my mate. I can’t wait!” Mandy squealed as she said that.
Laughing at her reaction I looked around for Annie.
“Where is Annie?”
"Oh, she texted me that she has a practice that your dad called her for so she won't be coming today to school."
"Oh, I didn't know that. Okay, let's go to class otherwise, if we are late we will get into trouble and you know how Ms. Friskies hates everyone that comes in after her."
As we walked through the hallway towards the Science classroom, we took our seats as others were being slowly pilling up with other students.
I noticed a few new faces, guessing those must be the newcomers, so I gave a small smile at the ones who were looking around the classroom.
"I can't wait for the football team to come back," Mandy said with her dreamy face that was leaning on her hands-on the table.
Turning around at her as I chuckled at her words, I grabbed my textbook and placed it on the table.
"I hope we don't get a new seating arrangement," I said to her.
“Oh hell, I forgot about that.”
A few minutes later Ms. Friskies entered the classroom as she took a seat at her desk.
As she turned around towards us she spoke.
“Since we got a change in our school due to new students, we will have a new seating arrangement assigned starting from next week. Until then you are allowed to sit as you are now.”
Mandy and I exchanged looks as we both groaned lowly.
"Great," I said in low voice.
"Fingers crossed she doesn't separate us," Mandy whispered.
The rest of the class went by slowly and the sound of the bell ringing couldn’t be more welcomed as it was then.
Mandy and I separated as she was off to her French class and I went to Biology.
Time flew by after that and soon enough we were back together sitting at a lunch table having some fries and cheeseburgers that were on a menu today.
“So is it still on?” Mandy asked me as she was picking at her fries.
“Is what on?” Taking a bite into my cheeseburger I asked her.
“Oh God girl, the shopping for your party you dummy.” She said with an eye roll.
“O that…”
"Yes, that and don't you dare to say no."
Laughing at her serious face, I said, “Yes of course we are going.”
Mandy squealed as few faces turned to look in our way at the sound of her as my hands went to cover my ears at her loud sound.
As we happily chatted about our plans, I smelt that smell again making me turn around to the entrance of the cantina.
I couldn’t exactly determine where it was coming from, but I saw a group that entered.
I took a look at them as they were all tall and well built, I knew they were the new students that were transferred from the Cornal high school.
"They are looking hot," Mandy said next to me.
Looking at them I took them all in.
The one on the left was tall, light tanned skin, light blond short hair, and dark blue eyes. He was well built and easy to the eyes.
My eyes travel to the one on the right as he was talking and probably joking as I could see his smile. He had a nice smile, with pearly white teeth. He seemed slightly taller than the other one with light brown hair that was in an attractive way falling slightly over his eyes that were dark brown color.
Moving my eyes to the third guy that was in the middle. He was looking around the cantina and I took that opportunity to take a look at him as well. He was slightly taller than the other two, with jet black hair that was messy and slightly longer, tanned and a little bulkier than the others. He had a strong jawline and plum lightly pink lips that I couldn't tear my eyes off. I saw as he licked his lips and the feeling of warmth flew through me.
What the hell is happening to me?
My skin prickled as I slowly rowed my eyes over his handsome face and was startled when I felt as an electrifying current flew through me the exact moment my eyes locked with his beautiful light grey ones.
His look was intense as he roamed his eyes all over my body. I could feel every inch of my body as it burned into life with just his look. His eyes moved slowly, painfully slow, from down to up, and slightly stopping at my chest area making my breathing hitch and grow harder. Licking his lips, I saw and I felt his gaze roam further up, over my collar bones, my neck, my jaw, stopping at my lips which made my cheeks go slightly blushing, and finally my eyes.
“Ollie? Are you ok?”
Lightly jumping in my seat as I heard Mandy talking.
Feeling my cheeks blush furthermore, I cleared my throat before speaking.
“Yes, just thinking about shopping and what all we will need.”
“Oh come on, you were so checking out that hottie that is near the entrance.” She poked at my side.
Gasping at her realization as I was caught red-handed I couldn't help my slight stammer showing in my voice.
“N-no.”
Mandy laughed at me as she turned towards the guys I was looking at.
“They are hot. Too bad we can’t be with them.” She slowly exhaled as her eyes were dreamy watching over at them.
I hated that rule or better said law that was forced upon us, no mixing in between species.
Before things were different and no matter who you were you were free to date, go out with, even if your mate turned to be another species, you could freely accept each other, and live your fairy tale happily ever after. But now since the big terrifying war, which lasted for centuries, the Elders made a peace pact that one of the things, as a rule in it, stated that no mixing as pairs or mating between two different shifters communities is allowed.
That rule was a cause of a one to many heartbreaks as many fated mates got rejected because of it, as the heartbreak would cause them to slowly lose their minds or life itself.
“He is watching you.”
Turning back my head towards the entrance I saw the middle one, most gorgeous of them all, looking at me as like he was in some deep thought.
"I think he likes you," Mandy whispered into my ear making me blush deeply.
I noticed he smirked at me as like he could have heard what she just said to me, which made my blush go even deeper if that was even possible.
Trying to get a grip and stop blushing I couldn’t help but now and then take a peek at him again.
They took their trays and walked to a table that was not too far from our table.
He took a fry and pop it in his mouth chewing slowly which was oddly erotic to watch as I couldn't look away.
His muscles flexed drawing my eyes to his arms as my breath got caught in my throat. Following the movement of his arm as he picked another fry and put it in his mouth I saw he smirked, and I noticed I got caught by him as I was ogling at him. He winked at me as I blush again purposively making me turn back towards my table.
I couldn't help but wish for the ground to open and swallow me as to how embarrassed I felt.
What is wrong with me…?
Chapter 3 : Shopping
After the school was finally over, Mandy and I said our goodbyes as we will be meeting a little later to go shopping at the mall to get ourselves new dresses for my birthday party.
James was waiting for me near his car as I was slowly descending from the front stairs towards him with my books in hands.
He waved me over as Tayler and Max were with him still goofing around next to him.
Looking around as I was walking, my eyes went to the edge of a parking lot on the right side near the green grass area and I saw those same three guys that I was watching in the cantina.
The two, blondie and chocolate, I'll call them like that, as I have no idea what their names really are, they we're looking at something that seemed to be a phone, while the dark-haired….raven…he was leaning against a tree that was near the edge and talking on the phone slightly frowning.
Even when he is frowning he was attractive.
To be honest, I haven't seen any guy who has spiked up my interest as much as he has.
I felt my Siren feeling restless the moment I looked at him.
His eyes looked up in my direction and made me freeze in my step.
A lazy smirk started to show on his gorgeous face.
Feeling my face starting to heat up, again, I removed my gaze from him as I started to walk faster towards James and his friends.
My skin was prickling making me feel all giddy inside, as I tried to shake off the feeling, coming closer to James's car.
“What got you looking red as a tomato?” poking at my side James teasingly asked me.
Glaring at him as I swatted his hand away, I said "No one."
He snorted as Tyler came next to me placing his large arm around my shoulders.
A growl was heard the second after, making our heads look towards its direction.
I was surprised as I saw those three hotties watching at us.
“What’s their problem?” Max asked feeling slightly confused.
“Who knows.” Was Tayler’s answer.
James was quiet as he was still looking their way.
The thought came to my mind, and I contemplated should I ask my brother and his friends or leave it, but curiosity got the better of me, so I asked.
“Do you know them?”
Tyler looked down at me as a mischievous smirk played on his lips.
“O don’t tell me babe that I am not enough for you now.”
A slight rumble of growls was heard, and I saw the raven God alike beauty, looking at Tyler with a murderous glare.
Swatting Tyler's arm off of my shoulders, I punched him slightly on his chest.
"Stop playing around Tyler, I only asked a question as I haven't seen them here before."
Taking a peek at the raven beauty, I could see his eyes were hard as he was still glaring at Tyler making me wonder what the hell was wrong with him.
“You couldn’t have seen them as they are from Cornal high school, and I want you to stay away from them, got it, Ollie?"
James told me sternly, with a look that showed "I am serious."
Rolling my eyes at him as he was annoying sometimes like just now, I turned around and opened the car door as I let myself in to sit down on the passenger side.
The guys slowly followed me inside, as James started the engine and we drove off from the school.
Coming home, I kissed my mom who was baking some goodies in the kitchen and rushed upstairs to leave my stuff I brought back from school and have a change of clothes.
Changing into my white shorts and a pale pink flowy blouse, I grabbed ahold of my Roman shoes as I put them on.
My light brown hair, that was always as it had its own mind, I left it to fall naturally in its light waves.
Redoing my light makeup, I took my light pink gloss and applied it on my lips.
Satisfied with my work, I walked into the hallway and downstairs as the smell of a freshly baked apple pie was just calling for me.
Mom was washing a dish in the sink as I slowly approached, making predatory slow steps towards the apple pie.
Fast as a light, mom's hand swatted at my own, stopping me momentarily in my attempt as I was so close yet so far away to taste the pie.
“Don’t you dare, missy! This is not only for you, and before you can have the pie, you will eat lunch."
"But mom… It's calling for me." Giving her my puppy eyes, she shook her head as she pointed towards the dining room.
"Lunch… first," she said.
Grumbling as I made my move towards the dining room table, I took my seat as my dad and James were trying but miserably failing to hide their laughter.
"Greedy little monster," James said under his breath, but I heard him.
Smacking him under the table with my leg, he slightly jumped in his seat as he grunted.
“Kids… behave.” My father said as he gave us a warning look.
Finally, mom came from the kitchen and took her seat, and we all started to eat.
A little later, I was helping my mom in the kitchen to clean up.
The front doorbell rang, and I knew that must be Mandy and Annie.
Kissing my mom, I rushed towards the front door and greeted my friends.
As we drove to the mall, we talked about our day.
Finally, as we got to the mall, I was pulled by Mandy inside it, and we went dress shopping.
After six stores and what felt thousands of hours spent looking and trying on all kinds of different dresses, I felt as I was losing hope that I would ever get to find the right dress.
Luckily, or unfortunately, Mandy was the only one still enthusiastic among us all, eagerly looking through the racks of dresses as she kept pulling out all kinds of that she liked out for us to try.
"Let's go try them on," Mandy said.
Rushing us to the changing rooms with too many dresses in both Annie's and my hands, we got shoved inside, and we all started to undress and try them all out.
Trying out first a red lacy dress, I walked outside and looked at the floor-length mirror.
Mandy and Annie walked out from their dressing rooms at the same time, as Mandy was wearing a fuchsia tight knee-length strapless dress that suited her perfectly.
Annie was in a royal blue dress that was lightly flowy with a sparkly waist of silver. Her eyes were shining as she looked amazing in it.
"You two look amazing," I said to them honestly, as I looked at them.
They both smiled at me as they agreed.
"You should buy those," I said to them.
“O most definitely we are. Now only we have to find the right one for you too.” Mandy said happily.
Her enthusiasm was contagious as I got back inside my changing room and took off the dress I was currently wearing.
Looking through the dresses Mandy has been accumulating onto my hands, I saw one that catches my eyes.
It was light pink with a sweetheart neckline and an open back.
Little sparkles were all over her as they were making the color of the dress look like its changing.
I smiled as I was inspecting it. I hurried to put it on, and I walked outside the changing room towards the long length floor mirror.
Hearing gasps of Mandy and Annie, I looked at myself in the mirror, and I couldn’t believe that it was me.
"You look so beautiful," Annie said in a mesmerizing voice.
Slightly blushing at the compliment, I had to agree that dress was fabulous.
Twirling slowly around to take a better look at all sides, I loved everything about it.
It was following my body shape right up to a little over my knees. The back was naked with little straps that cross out over the back-line.
It was not revealing, and its unique color was just adding to the look.
Deciding on taking the dress, we went to change and pay for our dresses.
For the rest of the shopping spree we got all other needed accessories, like shoes, accessories, and we went to do our nails.
Finally, as the shopping fever was down and our bags safely placed in our car, we went to sit down and grab some needed food.
My stomach grumbled at how hungry I was, making Annie next to me chuckle.
“You’re insatiable Ollie. Thank God, you’re a shifter otherwise as how much you can eat you would be fat.”
She teased me.
"Well, haven't you heard that love comes from the tummy?" I joked.
They both laughed at me.
What? So kill me… I love food.
It gives us energy, and I definitely needed energy after this shopping fever that my friends pulled me into.
"O, that is why you looked as you could eat that dark hot stud as you were devouring him with your eyes," Mandy said teasingly, taking a bite of her pizza.
Unfortunately, at that moment, I was taking a sip of my juice, and hearing her words made me almost choke on my drink.
Coughing as Annie was gently rubbing at my back, I gave Mandy a stinky eye look.
"What? Don't even try to deny it." She said, batting her eyelashes as she was trying to look innocent.
“Who are we talking about?” Annie was confused.
"Oh, just tree hot werewolves," Mandy said.
"O. Who are they?" Annie asked.
As I was about to say something, Mandy cut in.
"Well, I was told they belong to a Blue Moon pack, and the dark beauty is supposedly a soon to be Alpha of the pack."
My eyes snapped at Mandy as she spoke. How the hell did she know, and I didn't?
She saw my look and giggled.
“I know you want to know their names, you’re too curious.” She teased.
“No… they don’t interest me.” I lied.
Snorting at my response, she said, "Right."
"Oh, just tell me, I want to know if Ollie doesn't." Annie was jumping in her seat as she leaned over the table towards Mandy.
"Well, the one with blond hair I think is Tanner, brown-haired one… umm.. wait I forgot… no, no, I know he is Logan and dark hair one is Marcus."
I finally got to know their names.
Marcus…
Just the name sent a shiver run through me.
