Chapter 1 — Getting Married

Lora
Oh, Moon Goddess, I really need this marriage.
My name is Lora Blake, and I am a werewolf.
I am the heir of the Moonlit Pack, or I used to be, before internal conflicts within the pack caused its decline twenty years ago. Eventually, other packs began sniffing around our weakened defenses like vultures circling and when they struck, we were helpless to do anything but submit to their will. Five years later, my mother, Luna of the Moonlit, and I were demoted to Omegas and endured endless humiliation. We were treated worse than slaves, turned into objects of mirth and caricature.
It's no surprise I broke.
I refused to be bullied any longer, so I voluntarily left the pack, taking my mother with me, fleeing from the nightmare that my life had become to Torrent City, where the human population in the city far outnumbered the werewolf population. Maybe, this could be the fresh start we needed. Maybe, Torrent city would be much safer than Windstorm City which was filled with werewolves.
How naive I was.
Torrent City had a strange rule for werewolves; if a werewolf failed to find a pack willing to accept them before the age of 25, they would be considered a rogue wolf and banished from the city.
This edict terrified me and my mother at first, but weeks of hiding, I discovered that marrying a native of Torrent City would provide us with identification, thus preventing us from being banished.
So, in order to save I and my mother's necks, I did something totally outrageous: I "married" myself.
The time for the scheduled marriage registration had passed by half an hour, and my future "husband" was yet to show up. Fraught with worry, I took out my phone, ready to dial him, when his name flashed across the screen.
As soon as I answered, a barrage of insults assaulted my ears, "Lora Blake, you disgusting she-wolf, lowly Omega, whatever made you think a lowly college student such as yourself could ever end up with me?! " I held the phone away from my ear, wincing as he raged on.
"I'd rather burn at stake than hook up with a broke college student who isn't worth a dime!" He roared. "You have some nerve, chatting me up for three days and then proposing marriage! If it weren't for my ex-girlfriend being in the same university, I would have almost been fooled by you. Do not ever contact me again. Fucking bitch!"
"Now, just a minute–" I started but was cut off by a loud beep.
He had hung up on me without even giving me a chance to explain myself.
I clenched my phone, knuckles turning white as my lips moved, unable to produce a sound in my defense.
The monologue had been loud, drawing many human eyes on me, their gazes a mixture of disdain and contempt. The glares felt akin to a thousand needles piercing through me, reminding me of the nightmare from two years ago.
I had attended a group cocktail party held by the clan in Windstorm City. I'd had only a glass of champagne but had somehow ended up completely drunk.
When I had woken up with a pounding head and a sour mouth, it was to discover I was in an unfamiliar hotel bed, a burning sensation taking over my lower abdomen, my core clenching painfully.
I tried to sit up, groaning when my head began to spin. I didn't make much progress before my body began convulsing uncontrollably, and in a daze, I seemed to see a strange werewolf looming over me.
What followed was intense pain and humiliation.
The werewolf bit into my shoulder, his sharp teeth breaking skin and drawing blood.
I never expected to feel his thick shaft hardening against my thigh, and before I could even make a sound, he thrust deeply, setting a punishing rhythm which suddenly set off intense contractions through my core. Waves of pain bloomed through me, and I couldn't help but cry out in shame.
The sound of skin slapping obscenely skin, the low growl of the man behind me as he came, painting my walls with spurt after spurt of his come, my uncontrollable moans filling my ears.
I could never forget that humiliating night, no matter how hard I struggled. My screams, the blinding pain, they were all memories I couldn't escape nor outrun, no matter how hard I tried...
When I woke up, I glanced down at the bruises on my body, a stark contrast to my pale skin.
I was just an Omega, with no ability to discern the identity of that werewolf. I fled the room in shock and embarrassment, only to be caught by a hotel staff member.
"I remember that room was booked by an old werewolf in his fifties." He exclaimed as he took stock of the visible bruises on my arms. "Look at all these marks on her body" his colleague whispered theatrically. "I didn't expect that old guy to be quite the player!"
I was too stunned to argue. For the next two years, I tried my best to forget this shameful memory.
Although I have escaped the heartbreak of Windstorm City, the mockery of the hotel staff seems to echo in my ears.
Each time, it makes me nauseous and tremble uncontrollably.
"Miss, would you marry me?"
A deep timbre suddenly invaded the turbulent waves of my mind, pulling me back from the edge of unbearable memories.
I looked up, befuddled.
While I had been stuck in the past, a man in a wheelchair had appeared in front of me at some point.
He had a face so perfect that it took my breath away, with sharp arches for eyebrows and starry eyes. Every line on his face seemed like a meticulously crafted work of art, without a single flaw.
He wore a plain white shirt, but the sharp, precise tailoring emphasized his lean, powerful frame. Even seated in a wheelchair, he radiated an unapproachable intensity. Cold, composed, and unbowed, like a blade sheathed in ice.
For a moment, I was struck speechless.
He could sense the familiar scent of his own kind emanating from his body.
Was he also a werewolf?!

Chapter 2 — Just Like That?

Lora
"I couldn't help but overhear your phone call," he gestured to the phone still in my grasp. "You must be in a hurry to get married."
The confirmation that this Adonis had witnessed my humiliating moment was enough to make my cheeks flame an unflattering shade of red.
Before I could stutter out a reply, the unfamiliar werewolf continued, speaking calmly like we were discussing a business deal rather than a major life event. "Coincidentally, I am just like you. How about we come to a mutually beneficial agreement?"
It was only then that realisation struck me.
The unfamiliar werewolf in front of me actually wanted to marry me. Me, a virtual stranger.
I had to resist pinching myself. There was no way this wasn't s dream.
"Sir," the title came out hesitant, unsure. "We don't know each other well enough to... this whole thing is too rushed."
"The human you were supposed to marry, you didn't know them either. Wouldn't it be more convenient to marry a werewolf?" He replied with an air of indifference, even though his stare was direct.
I was at a loss for words.
"What, am I disqualified of my disability? Not good enough for you, huh?" He looked at me and asked.
"Of course not!" I blurted out all the while avoiding his piercing gaze.
When I finally braved a glance at him, it was to find him smirking at me.
"Miss." The strange werewolf folded his hands and placed them neatly on his lap before looking up at me, "I believe you desperately need this arrangement. This is Torrent City. Werewolves without a pack here over the age of 25 will be expelled. Where will you go, if you get banished?"
I stared at him for a long, uncomfortable time before I finally stuttered out a sentence, "Are you... a native of Torrent City?"
The corner of the strange werewolf's lips curled slightly, "Yes."
I chose to study this enigma of a man closely.
Although he had a disability, he appeared much stronger than the various human males I had chatted with on dating sites.
His idea had merit: I didn't have to hide who I was from him. However, if my identity was discovered by humans here, I would be banished from the city!
All this time, what I had been seeking was to quickly marry a local and obtain proof of identity here.
Now that the opportunity was right in front of me, why was I hesitating?
In the end, it was a no-brainer. I really didn't any other choice. With a resigned sigh, I squared my shoulder and faced my future husband. lifting my head to look at my future husband. "Okay, I agree."
An hour later, I walked out of the city hall in with a marriage certificate in my hand, feeling as if I were floating in a dream-like haze.
I never expected I'd get married so suddenly, especially to a werewolf I had just met.
It wasn't until I looked at the marriage certificate that I learned my new husband's name was Aston Vaughn.
Aston Vaughn, I rolled the words around in my head, testing them. It embodied him: powerful, strong.
"Lora Blake?"
Aston studied the photo in the red book and slowly pronounced my name in his deep, husky voice that sent shivers down my spine.
As I was still in a daze, a large hand suddenly reached out to me, holding a black card between its fingertips.
"Miss Blake, I know girls usually look forward to weddings, rings, and all that, but I'm sorry, I don't have time for those things. If you like rings, you can choose one yourself." He shook the card at me when I made no move to collect it.
I looked up and met Aston's deep, obsidian-like eyes.
"No, thank you," I quickly waved my hand. "I don't care about those things."
I was past the age of chasing romance. More importantly, even though he was my husband in name, I didn't want to feel like I owed him anything.
"Although our union may not have the blessing of the moon goddess, a wedding ring is still necessary." Aston lightly stated and quickly grabbed my wrist, placing the card in my palm.
His skin against mine was like nothing I had ever felt in my life. The warmth of his hand seared through my brain, causing me to lose focus.
“Alright.” I slowly acquiesced.
It only made sense to accept his gesture, given the fact that we were now "newlyweds," and I didn't want to offend him over such a small matter.
"I have a meeting this afternoon, so I won't be able to see you off." Aston's tone remained indifferent.
"Okay." I never expected him to treat me like a wife, so I didn't feel disappointed.
"Oh, about my home address", he added as an afterthought. "I'll send it to you later. Whenever you're ready, you can move in."
We had already exchanged phone numbers when we got their marriage certificate.
"There's no rush for that." I nervously replied.
Although married couples were supposed to live together, I wasn't ready to live under the same roof as a strange werewolf.
With the way his eyes gleamed, I knew he didn't know how to take no for an answer.
I was in so much trouble.

Chapter 3 — No Need To Come

Aston
Her hesitation was obvious, and I observed her, displeased, watching the fear in her eyes grow.
I had already concealed my alpha scent, but the Omega in front of me seemed to be sensitive to it.
The woman was about to speak when I wheeled my chair away from her, adding lightly, "If there's nothing else, I'll be on my way."
"Okay. See you later." She called after me.
It was only when I was sat in the my car that it occurred to me just why she had sounded familiar.
I couldn't help but recall two years ago when I had attended a party. I'd been tricked by a rival pack and had mistakenly ingested an aphrodisiac laced with wolf poison. Desire had raged through my body at the time, and I felt my grip on reality fading.
I fought it as hard as I could but in the end, I was powerless against the lust that made my blood sing. I transformed into a wolf and ran to the nearest hotel in the area.
On the tenth floor of the hotel, my wolf senses detected a scent that drove me feral, the desire red line from another werewolf guiding me to a suite.
I burst in, not knowing what to expect.
An Omega old man was lecherously staring at the petite figure on the bed. Just as he reached out to trail his fingers down the woman's body, I returned to human form and grabbed him with a growl, throwing him out of the window on the 20th floor.
"Miss..?" I approached the bed hesitantly, my instincts on high alert, blood pounding in my ears as I tried to control myself. "Are you alright?"
A single moan escaped her full lips. She was the most beautiful woman I had ever laid eyes on. Her pale skin shone in the moonlight, her hair strewn across the light duvet. I couldn't help but notice the way her dress rode up, granting me a glimpse of her smooth thighs.
All in all, she painted a picture of decadence.
And I was frankly too turned on to resist.
My fingers trembled as I reached out to graze her skin. She moaned again, this time more desperate than the last, and my wolf stirred.
In hindsight, I should have realized I didn't stand a chance. I never did.
She reached out a hand, her eyes glazed.
"Please..." her voice was husky and sounded straight out of a wet dream.
"It... hurts."
"Where does it hurt, baby?" The endearment slipped out naturally.
In reply, she spread her legs further and I caught a flash of her frilly panties.
They were soaked.
The smell of arousal speared through me and in that instant, I gave up the battle.
Take her, Erik my wolf snarled. Make her ours.
"Please..." she whined. "Do something..."
Her pleas only fanned the embers of my passion and before I could second guess it, I tore at her dress. Her perky breasts spilled out of the mess of fabric, her nipples rosy and pebbled.
With a groan, I took one in my mouth and sucked like a starving man.
And I was. Starved for her.
She writhed, head thrashing in ecstasy, a siren in the moonlight. I didn't know what I had done to receive such a gift from the moon goddess but I wasn't about to look a gift horse in the mouth.
A keening cry left her lips as I rolled her other nipple between my thumb and index finger.
"That feels... good."
There are absolutely no words for how feral I became.
I growled low in my throat as I caught hold of her delicate ankles, forcefully spreading them as wide as they could go. My shallow pants matched her moans, creating a broken symphony that echoed throughout the shadowed room.
I lined up my throbbing cock and slammed into her wet heat amidst her scream of surprise.
"Fuck!" I groaned. She was wet, hot, tight, deliciously so. Her muscles clamped down on my shaft, sending shock waves racing down my spine.
I set a punishing rhythm, pounding into her over and over, the sound of skin slapping against skin renting the air. She took me so well, matching my thrust, moaning and whimpering sexily.
Her tiny hands reached out and she blindly scratched at my chest in what seemed to be a move of resistance.
Pulling out took more effort than I thought it would. My head found its way between her thighs and I lapped at her wetness.
"Oh!" Her surprised gasp dissolved into moans even as her fingers gripped my hair, pulling in a way that had my cock hardening.
She tasted divine, like nectar and like a thirsty man, I drank her down, licking and sucking and driving her absolutely wild.
My thumb pressed down on her clit and I jiggled the swollen nub once, twice...
That set her off. Her back arched like a bow, her legs quivered and she came long and hard with a scream.
Her orgasm was my undoing. I flipped her on her stomach mid-orgasm and slipped back into her heat that was disturbingly starting to feel like home. Her hair felt like silk as I wrapped the tresses around my fish and fucked her into the mattress.
It wasn't long before she came again with a keening cry and this time, I was helpless to do anything but topple over the edge with her.
With a roar, I spilled my seed into her tight hole but I wasn't done yet. Far from it.
We fucked through the night, in different positions. We learned each other's bodies thoroughly and did so on every imaginable surface in the room.
With every orgasm, the effects of the wolfbane I'd downed faded.
When I finally came to my senses, the sun was rising, temporarily blinding me.
I looked around at the mess in the room, but the woman was nowhere to be seen.
My eyes caught a hint of red staining the sheets and it dawned on me that the woman from last night was not a prostitute.
I ordered my men to investigate, but the hotel's surveillance cameras were all out of power. The only clue came from a waiter, who mentioned a few female werewolves from Torrent City were staying at the hotel.
Despite my efforts, I found nothing.
Studying the marriage certificate in my hand, I thought of the Omega who had hastily left. There was something about her that I just couldn't put my finger on. I instructed my beta, Chris, who was behind the wheel, "Chris, I need all the information you can find on this woman. Send it to me later."
"Understood, Alpha." He nodded, meeting my gaze through the rearview mirror."I just received a call from Miss Molly, she said she's stuck in traffic and might need another hour."
I absentmindedly caressed the photo in my hand. "Tell her not to bother coming."
"But, what about the old man..."
"Tell him I've agreed to his marriage proposal."
After thousands of years of changes, the werewolf continent we live in has slowly become endangered due to natural disasters and other reasons.
The major werewolf leaders had no choice but to scatter their people and blend into human settlements, disguising themselves as humans to continue their lineage.
I belong to the Shadow Pack, one of these groups.
As the alpha of the Shadow Pack, I must contribute to the growth of our people. However, I am disgusted by the old man's pushy and forced marriage arrangements.
I find the woman he has chosen to be the future Shadow Pack Luna repulsive.
Compared to the scheming woman, this Omega I'd found at City Hall seemed easier to control.
And if my heart sped up every time she blinked those enchanting eyes at me, nobody had to know.
