Chapter 1

Zoey's POV
I lay on the operating table, my body rigidly strapped down, unable to move an inch.
Just after that terrifying car accident, my body felt like it was falling apart, every inch of my skin screaming in pain, and my breathing was incredibly labored. The feeling of suffocation was always with me.
The overhead light mercilessly shone on my face. I struggled to lift my head, staring straight at my sister in her patient gown, my eyes filled with disbelief.
"Why!" I shouted with all my might, my voice hoarse from pain and shock.
"Why?" Ariana extended her hand, jabbing it harshly at my chest, a chillingly sinister smile curling at the corners of her lips.
"You brought this on yourself. Why did you have to be better than me at everything?" Her tone was filled with venom, as if my superiority was an unforgivable sin.
"Do you really think I cared about you? How naive. If I hadn't coaxed you, how would you have given me your designs? And how could you have drunk the juice laced with muscle relaxants, then got into the accident?" She gleefully revealed her schemes like a demon, each word cutting into my heart like a sharp knife.
"Do you know who set the fire in the bar ten years ago? Me! But those rogues I hired were useless. They couldn't take you down, so I had to do it myself." Her eyes gleamed with madness, completely immersed in her evil.
"Oh, and the rumors about your promiscuity and abortion? I spread those, too. But you should thank me. During the eight years you spent abroad, you learned a lot. But now, all of that is mine. Aren't you just dying of bitterness?" She laughed as she spoke, her laughter echoing in the operating room, sending chills down my spine.
"Don't worry, when you're dead, I'll give you a grand funeral. And everyone will know that after your accident, you donated your heart to your dearest sister, letting me live on in your place. What a touching story!"
As she spoke, she sadistically pressed on my broken leg, the wound a bloody mess, and the excruciating pain hit me instantly.
My heart was filled with endless hatred.
For those eight years, I was exiled abroad. In that lonely time, besides my grandpa, only Ariana cared for me.
She told me news from home, helped me connect with Nelson Madox, and visited me in Coburn from time to time.
I trusted her so much. She wanted to be a singer, so I sang for her. She wanted to start a brand, so I gave her my designs...
I always thought she was the best person to me in this cold house, besides my grandpa.
But I never expected that it was all fake. The family love I longed for was all based on self-interest.
"Ah!" The pain in my leg intensified, and she pressed harder. I couldn't hold back any longer and screamed.
"Does it hurt? Every day you outshined me, I felt this pain. Zoey, don't be afraid. Grandpa's been waiting for you in hell. Once we take out your heart, you can meet him." Ariana's face was full of madness as if she had completely lost her mind.
A surge of bitterness welled up in my throat, and I couldn't help it. My lips were stained with bright red blood, slowly dripping down my chin.
"Ariana! May you rot in hell!" I cursed her with the last of my strength, my hatred burning like a raging fire.
"You won't live to see that day," she laughed maniacally, her laughter grating on my ears like a demon's curse.
Just then, the operating room door opened, and Nelson and the medical team walked in. Seeing Nelson, I felt like I had grasped the last glimmer of hope and shouted with all my might, "Nelson, Nelson, call the police!"
However, the man I once loved just sneered lightly, looking down at me with contempt and disdain, as if I were the most despicable person in the world.
"You stole Ariana's designs, poisoned her vocal cords, and had an abortion. I wish you were dead," his words hit me like a sledgehammer, shattering my last hope.
"You..." Before I could finish, he brutally stuffed a medical gauze into my mouth.
"Since you're about to die, I might as well tell you that Ariana and I have been together for a long time. The one who saved you from the fire wasn't me. It was Russell Madox." His words were like a bolt from the blue, collapsing my world in an instant.
"For the past two months, we've been looking for opportunities to kill you, but Russell kept getting in the way. I don't know what he sees in you! But tonight is your end, because he fell into my trap trying to save you!" His face twisted into a grotesque smile, and his ugly expression filled me with disgust and rage.
My eyes were filled with shock, anger, and then deep pain. Tears streamed down my cheeks, soaking my temples.
No wonder when I called Nelson my savior ten years ago, his face was full of surprise.
No wonder after that night, I heard that Russell had injured his waist and was sent abroad for treatment.
All these years, I've loved the wrong person?

Chapter 2

Zoey's POV
How ridiculous and pitiful I was.
But it was all too late. I could only lie here in despair, waiting for the merciless verdict of fate.
"The surgery begins. No anesthesia is needed for the donor." The lead surgeon's cold voice rang out.
Then, I could feel my heart being slowly removed, my breathing growing weaker and weaker, and I felt myself drifting towards death in despair and agony.
I felt my body becoming light and transparent, slowly floating in mid-air.
I watched as the doctor cut open Ariana's chest, preparing for the heart transplant. There was no trace of mercy on their faces, only a focus on this heinous surgery.
"Bang!" The operating room door was kicked open with a loud crash, shattering the eerie silence.
A group of people stormed in, led by a man in a black trench coat, his posture upright, exuding a powerful and mysterious aura, the kind of dignity and strength unique to werewolves.
As he entered the room, I could feel the tension and oppression in the air, as if countless invisible wolf eyes were watching from the darkness.
"Zoey..." His voice trembled, and his steps were unsteady, "I'm sorry. I'm too late."
He took off the obsidian bracelet from his wrist, placed it on mine, and held my already cold hand, his eyes filled with despair, as if the whole world had collapsed at that moment.
"Russell, you're not dead? You're not in a wheelchair anymore? Your leg is healed?" Nelson's voice trembled, and he swallowed hard, his eyes filled with terror.
At that moment, I noticed the aura around Russell growing stronger, the scent of the werewolf surging.
Russell suddenly lifted his eyelids, his gaze as sharp as a knife, staring intently at Nelson, who was kneeling on the ground, his eyes filled with terrifying murderous intent, as if he could tear Nelson into pieces in an instant.
Nelson was so frightened that he trembled all over, pleading, "Russell, spare my life! I beg you. I'm your nephew!"
Russell walked step by step towards him, the air around him seeming to twist with his wolfish rage.
His fingers began to deform slightly, his nails growing longer and sharper, taking on the rudimentary form of wolf claws. His eyes flickered with an eerie green light, a sign that the werewolf was about to lose control.
"You killed her, so go join her in the grave!" His voice was as cold as if it came from a freezer, devoid of any warmth, and it was mixed with a deep, low growl, as if he would transform into a werewolf and tear Nelson apart at any moment.
I floated in the air, anxious and desperate. I couldn't just watch Russell commit a crime. Otherwise, he would be doomed too.
But I could do nothing, only watch in despair as everything unfolded.
Screams echoed throughout the operating room, deafening, and everyone involved in this heinous surgery fell to the ground, scattered and bleeding, the blood spreading across the floor, staining a large area red.
I watched as Russell killed everyone, then carried my body to the seaside, where he sat on the beach all night.
The moment the sun rose above the horizon, Russell finally moved his eyelids and whispered, "Didn't you say you hadn't seen a sunrise yet, hadn't been in love, didn't want to die? Why did you leave so soon?"
I had said that in the fire, and I didn't expect he would remember it even now.
Russell's throat choked, his voice hoarse as he said, "Zoey, I've seen the sunrise with you. As for love, let's talk about it in the next life, okay?"
With that, he unhesitatingly pressed the gun to his temple.
I was stunned, then lunged forward, trying to grab Russell's hand, but I still couldn't touch anything. My hand passed right through his body.
"No, please don't!" I cried out in despair, but my voice seemed to be drowned out by the roaring waves, unable to reach his ears.
Watching him lying on the beach, I felt my heart being torn apart, crying out in agony, completely broken down.
Suddenly, my body was violently torn and twisted by a mysterious force, the pain driving me nearly mad.
I could feel a powerful force surging within me, the awakening of the werewolf bloodline.
I could sense my bones reshaping, my muscles swelling, my senses becoming extraordinarily acute. I could even hear the faint sound of distant waves crashing against the rocks and smell the salty tang in the air.
"No!" I opened my eyes wide, gasping for breath, only to realize that all of this had been just a nightmare.
What I saw was the bright vanity mirror.
I stared at myself in the mirror, dressed in a business suit with my hair neatly coiffed, and for a moment, I stood there stunned, a flood of thoughts washing over me.
Slowly looking around, yes, this was my room in the Harmon family.
It wasn't very spacious, and it used to be just a storage room. It was only simply renovated before I came back.
I raised my hand and pressed it to my chest, feeling the clear "thump-thump" of my heartbeat.
I wasn't dead! I was alive, and I had returned to two years ago!

Chapter 3

Zoey's POV
At that moment, I sensed a strange change in my body.
My senses had become extraordinarily sharp, allowing me to clearly hear the faint sounds of insects crawling in the garden downstairs, and even distinguish the different engine noises of vehicles on the distant streets.
I was shocked to realize that my wolf seemed to be quietly awakening, yet in my previous life, I didn't possess this power.
Thank the Moon Goddess for her gift.
"Zoey, are you ready? We agreed to go to the candy store at this time. Don't be late," Aria's urging voice came from outside the door.
[$]
This familiar attire, these familiar words, yet they carried a completely different meaning to me now.
Candy stores? Of course, it was from two years ago.
Two years ago, Nelson approached me, informing me of the marriage arrangement between the Harmon and Madox families, and expressed his hope that I could become his wife.
At that time, my heart was filled with excitement and joy. After all, he was the one I had believed to be my savior.
However, Nelson said at the time that he wanted to marry me after he had achieved success. Back then, he was constantly suppressed by Russell, the power-holder within the Madox family, and felt that he couldn't provide me with a happy and stable life.
So, we got engaged first. Nelson asked me to help him, and without a second thought, I agreed.
In this way, he arranged for me to serve as Russell's chief secretary.
Over the past two years, I used my knowledge to steal a lot of secrets for Nelson, successfully bringing Russell down from his high position and fulfilling Nelson's ambitions.
But now, I had come to understand that Russell was not without suspicion of me, yet he chose to let my actions continue.
I later found out that he seemed to have his own plans. Perhaps he wanted to use me to expose the traitors within his family, or maybe there were other deeper considerations.
Thinking back now, those profound gazes he directed at me might have hidden his insights and patience as a werewolf.
In my previous life, I was used by others, doing so many foolish things that harmed my true savior, leading to my grandpa's wrongful death, my heart being removed, and even causing Russell to commit suicide.
In this life, I secretly vowed that I must make them pay for their deeds, and also properly repay Russell for saving my life.
According to the timeline, the engagement banquet is tomorrow night, and I must gather all the evidence before then.
"Zoey?" Ariana's voice sounded outside the door again. Thinking of what she did to me in my previous life, I couldn't help but shudder.
'Humph, let's see how long you can keep up the act.'
I got up, opened the door, and saw Ariana dressed in a beautiful knee-length dress, wearing high heels, with exquisite makeup, looking radiant.
"I'm a bit uncomfortable in my stomach. Could you help me pick some out with Nelson?" I said, pretending to be weak.
A flash of barely concealed joy flickered in her eyes, but I caught this subtle change in expression.
"Do you need to go to the hospital?" she asked, with a feigned look of concern on her face.
"No, I should be fine after a good sleep," I shook my head and replied, pretending to be tired.
"Alright," she nodded, almost unable to suppress the corners of her mouth from lifting, "I'll go with Nelson, and I'll take photos for you to choose from later."
"Okay," I responded.
Watching her leave, the smile on my face disappeared instantly.
I closed the door, walked to the French window, and saw her get into the black Rolls-Royce.
However, the car did not head towards the candy store, but drove in the opposite direction towards the suburbs.
With my enhanced vision, I could even see the smug smile on her lips.
Seeing this, I couldn't help but sneer, turned around, walked to the computer desk, opened the laptop, and quickly typed on the keyboard, getting busy.
After completing everything, I changed into a set of sportswear, took out a small object from the suitcase, and left the room.
At that moment, in the suburban villa, two figures were entwined tightly on the bed.
"Nelson, who do you think is better, me or Zoey?" Ariana asked coquettishly.
"Definitely, you. I don't even deign to touch her," Nelson's voice was full of disgust.
The two continued, occasionally letting out low growls. I was listening outside the door, almost unable to hold back my nausea.
In my previous life, I knew about the existence of this villa. At that time, Nelson lied to me, saying it was a place for the company to entertain guests.
But who would entertain guests in the suburbs? As expected, I was right.
As soon as I approached the villa, I used my keen sense of smell to detect the mixed scents of Ariana and Nelson inside.
They were still continuing, and I quickly installed the mini camera, the size of a soybean, in my hand, then left quietly.
In the evening, the family sat around the dining table.
Ariana enthusiastically took out the wedding candy and peeled one for everyone.
"Zoey, is it tasty?" Ariana asked with a smile.
I nodded and responded, "Good."
Daria Beck glanced at me with disgust and said sarcastically, "You can't do anything well! Even choosing wedding candy has to be done by Ariana. Look at her. She's not only a top designer at Born Beauty Fashion Company but also a triple-threat star in Born Beauty Entertainment. What about you? You're good for nothing! I really don't understand how Mr. Madox chose you as his fiancée?"
