Chapter 1 — The Beginning of Retribution

Yulia's POV
Sunlight stabbed through the slit in the curtain like a blade from the heavens, piercing straight into my eyes and forcing me out of my nightmare.
No—this wasn’t a dream.
I really came back.
I sat up, my chest stiff and cold, like it had been flooded with ice water. The bed beneath me was too familiar, too clean—no bloodstains, no howls of agony, no torn wolf-shaped body. All of it made one thing clear: I had been reborn.
And today was that day.
“Moon Oath Day.”
In my last life, I was forced to take my sister’s place and sign the Moon Oath on this day, becoming the marked mate of an alpha from the Warclaw Pack. He was their future leader—and a dying Alpha. Everyone knew he wouldn’t survive this winter, but no one dared to say it.
So they chose me.
In her place.
I died on the day of that forced marriage. Died beneath the cold stares of this family.
But now, I’ve opened my eyes.
They thought I was weak, submissive—a low-ranking Omega meant to be sacrificed from birth.
But this time, I came back for revenge.
I took a deep breath. The air carried the scent of dusty old floorboards and fresh morning grass. Just beyond the window stood the boundary mountains of the Bloodmoon Pack—I knew the direction of these winds, the smell of this land. It all reminded me: I was alive.
I was back.
“Bang! Bang! Bang!” The knocking quickly turned into violent kicks at the door.
Before I could even get out of bed, the door flew open with a loud crash.
Conan—my so-called “brother,” the young Alpha of the family—stormed in, face filled with irritation and a scent steeped in aggression.
He marched up to the bed and yanked me up by the arm like I was a disobedient pup. “Yulia, are you deaf?”
I didn’t say a word. I just stared into his icy gray eyes.
Then I moved.
I twisted his wrist and flung his hand off me with full force. Bone cracked audibly from the impact. He was stunned by the strength, like he couldn’t believe I’d fight back.
That reaction almost made me laugh.
I casually turned on the recorder on my phone. Not for evidence—just habit. Last time, I died too quietly.
“You know Warclaw Pack is coming to take someone today, right?” he growled, eyes blazing. “You’re still lying here? You want them to take Clara instead?”
I gave a cold laugh and looked up at him. “Why can’t they take her? She’s the one with the Moon Oath. That Alpha’s about to drop dead, and now you want me to be marked instead? She’s scared of being a widow, but I’m supposed to be fine becoming one?”
The air went still the moment the words left my mouth.
He froze. For a second, I saw hesitation—maybe even guilt—in his eyes. But it vanished just as quickly. “You’re not like Clara,” he muttered, looking away. “If she loses her mate, her life’s over. But you… You can handle it. You can be his Luna.”
I laughed.
A real laugh—one that rose from deep in my bones. Cold. Ruthless. A sneer at the sheer hypocrisy of this pack.
“So I’m just the Omega you can throw away whenever it’s convenient, right?”
His face darkened, about to respond, when a faint sound came from the door.
A familiar scent drifted in—soft, sweet, and laced with just a hint of deception.
Clara had arrived.
The so-called pureblood Omega, my sister in name—the one who let me take her place to save her own life.
The game had only just begun.

Chapter 2 — The Real Bride

Conan’s POV
I all but slammed her door open. The wooden panel groaned in protest as it smashed against the wall.
There was no time for niceties. The Warclaw Pack convoy had already departed—they’d be here within the hour. And Yulia... she was trying to escape again.
She was still in bed, hair a mess, but her eyes were startlingly clear. For a split second, I had the absurd feeling she’d been waiting for me.
Fury surged. I stormed over and yanked her up by the arm, dragging her upright with sheer force.
“Are you deaf, Yulia?!”
I thought she’d bow her head like she used to, maybe whisper a reluctant “sorry” with her lips pressed tight and her eyes red from holding back tears.
But she didn’t.
She looked at me like I was a stranger—no, like something she found repulsive.
In the next instant, she twisted my wrist and flung my hand off her. The movement was sharp, deliberate, and powerful enough to make me stumble. My arm went numb from the shock. That wasn’t a strength an ordinary Omega should have.
I stood there, stunned—she actually dared to fight back?
Worse, she used her other hand to turn on her phone. The blinking red light of the recorder glared at me like a threat.
My mind went completely blank.
She never would’ve done that before. The Omega who used to silently swallow her tears and keep her head down was gone.
This Yulia was someone else entirely.
“You know today’s Moon Oath Day. Warclaw Pack is coming for the bride, and you’re still lying here?” I hissed, jaw clenched. “Are you doing this on purpose? You want them to take Clara instead?”
Her eyes sliced into me like shards of ice. Cold. Disdainful. Impossible to meet.
“Isn’t he Clara’s Moon Oath partner?” she said, calm to the point of unnatural. “Now that he’s on his deathbed, you want me to be marked in her place? She’s afraid of being a widow—so I’m just supposed to become one for her?”
That sentence shredded through every pretense I’d clung to, like claws teJacksong through flesh.
I reeled. I wanted to deny it, but I had no excuse. I turned away, voice barely holding together. “You’re not like Clara. If she loses her mate, her life is over. But you—you can handle it.”
Then she laughed.
And it felt like someone had dug into my chest with a blade.
She wasn’t that obedient Omega anymore. She was something else now—something I couldn’t control.
Just then, light footsteps came from the hallway.
A familiar figure rushed in, her scent soft and sickly sweet with just a trace of fragility—Clara.
I spun around, heart thudding.
Clara’s POV
As soon as I heard them arguing, I rushed over. My eyes brimmed with tears, my voice caught just enough to sound like it might break at any second.
“Don’t force Yulia anymore! I’ll go. I’ll marry him, okay? If he dies, then I’ll just...”
I sniffled deliberately, letting the tears trail down my cheeks. I looked like I might faint right there—helpless, fragile, heartbroken.
But inside, I knew exactly what I was doing.
As long as Yulia married him in my place, I’d get to keep my clean hands, my comfortable place in the family, far from the bloody power struggles. All the benefits would still flow toward me.
“Enough!” Mother’s voice cut through the room like a blade, cold and commanding. “Yulia, as the elder sister, you will marry in Clara’s place today. No more arguments.”
I looked at Yulia, eyes filled with fake sympathy, tinged with a flicker of quiet glee. She didn’t realize how useless this new defiance of hers was. She thought she had control, thought she could change her fate.
But she didn’t understand.
The real winner... was me.

Chapter 3 — Severed Ties

Yulia’s POV
“Enough! Yulia, you’re her sister—you’re going to marry in Clara’s place today!”
My mother’s voice slammed into my head like a cold iron hammer.
I turned and saw her—my biological mother—standing at the door, flanked by Simon and Sean.
Their eyes blazed with fury, like I had committed an unforgivable sin.
“Yulia, how could you be so heartless? Clara is your sister! Do you really want her dead?” Simon Saunder’s fists were clenched, his voice thick with self-righteous anger.
Sean Saunder chimed in, “Exactly! It’s not like we’re asking you to die. You’re just standing in for a marriage. Once that Alpha kicks it, you can come back.”
Their shameless confidence made me laugh.
In my previous life, I would’ve argued and protested in tears. And they would’ve drugged me, stripped me, and taken photos—humiliating footage they’d use to threaten me: marry in Clara’s place, or they’d ruin me online.
Back then, I watched them strip away every shred of my dignity. I finally chose to end it all by jumping off a building.
But this time, I took a slow breath and stayed as calm as a frozen lake.
“Sure. Who said I wasn’t willing to marry?” I smiled faintly, walked to the desk, picked up a pen and paper, and casually turned on my phone’s camera.
They stared at me in confusion, glancing down with furrowed brows.
After a moment, I held out a document and said evenly, “I’ll go—if you all sign this agreement and have it notarized.”
It was a statement to sever all ties.
The moment I said it, their expressions changed like they’d been struck.
Their contempt all but smothered me.
“You? Cut ties with us? What a joke. Just tell us how much money you want,” Sean scoffed, snatching the paper.
Conan’s eyes darkened. He pulled a card from his pocket and tossed it at me. “Ten grand. Take it. Stop being dramatic. It’s just a marriage. No need for theatrics.”
Clara’s eyes lit up when she saw the agreement, though tears welled up and her voice trembled with practiced fragility. “Don’t be like this! I’ll go—I’ll marry him, okay? Please don’t fight with Mom and the others because of me. It’s all my fault. I shouldn’t have stayed here...”
She turned as if to leave, then suddenly stumbled and collapsed into Conan’s arms.
“Sis.” Conan caught her quickly, holding her tightly around the waist. He glared up at me, voice shaking with rage. “Yulia, are you seriously going to tear this family apart?”
I smiled faintly. “I’m not making a scene. Just sign and notarize the document, and I’ll take her place.”
Looking at the fury on their faces, bitterness welled up inside me.
Why had I ever tried so hard to please them? These people didn’t deserve it.
In my past life, they kicked me out and brought in a foster daughter to replace me. I wandered the streets like trash. If not for my master taking me in, wild dogs would’ve torn me apart.
Maybe it was that bitter refusal to die quietly that led me to fall into my own family’s hands.
But this time, the Moon Goddess gave me another chance.
My only goal is to break every chain, escape this cage once and for all.
Mary’s POV
“You’d better not regret this later.” I stared coldly at Yulia—that ungrateful girl.
I could see her hesitating, hoping to stall with this whole “sever ties” stunt. But I didn’t have time to play games.
“Go find me a lawyer,” I snapped at the maid beside me.
I didn’t trust her not to go back on her word. I was eager to sever all connections, to cut her out of the Saunder bloodline once and for all.
The maid faltered under my glare, then quickly turned and hurried off. “Yes, madam.”
Sean and Simon exchanged uneasy glances but didn’t dare speak against me. In this family, I held all the power. Still, they stepped forward and murmured, “Mom, maybe we don’t need to go through with notarizing it. She’s still family...”
I scoffed. “Still can’t think straight, can you? She wants to sever ties? Without the Saunder name backing her, how long do you think she’ll last?”
The lawyer was brought in quickly. I shoved the agreement into his hands and started the online notarization right then and there.
Yulia took the signed paper without a word, snapped a photo, and tucked it into her bag.
I watched as she turned and walked down the stairs—calm, cold, and completely unafraid.
