Chapter 1 — Mated To Two Alphas?!
Red lights flood the thick air in the room around the small dingy club, making her slightly dizzy. Music vibrating the dim walls and the smell of alcohol, sweat and sin filled her nostrils.
Although the smell of sweat was strong, she could easily detect the scent of werewolves from humans. Werewolves had a unique scent, each pack having their own different scent. Due to the amount of sweaty people, the scent was faint but still present.
She grimaced slightly at the smell, looking down at her black stilettos and crossing her long legs. She's putting on a dark red dress, sleek and tight, clinging to her every curves like a second skin. There were no sleeves or even a back, just multiple pearl strings holding the whole thing together.
If she had been given a choice, she would have picked out a much more presentable dress. But according to her best friend, her clothes are too 'hideous', so she dragged her to the shopping mall and bought lots of, in her words 'sexy dress'.
She looked around anxiously at the couch littered around the walls, mostly occupied by people dancing with each other.
Euphoria is a notorious club, it's the type of club that everyone crawls to when the bars are closed for the night.
In her entire 21 years of being alive, she has never been to a club like this.
Her best friend, Ashley nudged her shoulder and she looked up to see her rolling her eyes. Ashley leans down to her friend's ear, yelling over the loud music.
“Don't be such a baby, Claire! Loosen up a little, can't you see how the men are gawking at you?!” Claire looked up instinctively and a few guys were indeed openly gawking at her with want but that didn't make her feel any better.
There was a deep ache in her heart, an aching hole in her heart that craves the feeling of having a mate. She didn't want other men, she only wanted her mate. When she had turned 18, she had thought her mate would appear and sweep her off her feet. But, she had hoped for the past two years and finally gave up and accepted the fact that she wasn't destined to have a mate.
It was a difficult thing to come to terms with, but she did anyway. It wasn't going to change anything if she continued hoping that he would one day come to her. Instead, it would cause her more pain than she could endure.
Ashley had tried hooking her up with blind dates all to no avail. Claire had thought that after several attempts that her friend would finally give up, but apparently she was wrong.
Ashley had met her mate as soon as she turned 18 and they immediately fell in love with each other. She moved in with him and has been living happily since then.
Ashley is dressed in a tight blue dress that ends mid thigh, deep plunging neck and a dark red lipstick on her lips. Ashley and Claire are polar opposites, while Ashley is loud, confident and social, Claire is insecure and introverted. How they became best of friends is still a mystery.
“You know how I feel about this, Ashley. I'm not ready to date anyone.” She stated with finality.
Ashley rolled her eyes. Her best friend could be so over dramatic sometimes! She just wanted her to have some fun and let loose a little. Claire had been searching for her mate for three years now and even if she claims she had given up the search, Ashley knew her friend was only lying to herself. She had always seen the longing in Claire's eyes when she saw the pack members with their mates.
“I wasn't asking you to date anyone! Just one moment of fun! Seriously, Claire, you are twenty-one and still a virgin!” Ashley yelled, causing a few people to turn their heads in their direction.
Claire ducked her head down as her cheeks flamed in embarrassment, she glared at her. “Could you lower your voice a little?” Claire said sarcastically.
“What? I'm only telling the truth.” She said, shrugging her shoulders innocently.
“And don't tell me you're keeping yourself for your mate. Don't be naive, Claire. This is the twenty-first century! What if your mate is dead or something?” Ashley blurted out without thinking and immediately regretted it at the look on her best friend's face.
Claire's expression didn't mask the hurt she felt at her best friend's words. She knew Ashley hadn't meant it, but that didn't stop her thoughts from straying towards the possibility of her words. What if he really was...? No! It can't be true. She refused to believe that her mate was dead. The moon goddess wouldn't hate her that much.
“Claire, I'm sorry. I didn't mean -”
Claire cut her off softly. “I know, it's fine.” She gulped down her vodka at once and winced as it burned her throat.
She walked over to the bartender and asked for three more shots of vodka. She wanted to drown the horrid thoughts from her head. She gulped all three shots at once not caring as it burned her throat.
Her body was beginning to buzz with adrenaline and all rational thoughts disappeared from her head. Just what she needed.
Ashley couldn't stop the guilt from eating her up, she shouldn't have said what she said, intentionally or not. She couldn't imagine a life without Jake, her mate. So, she wouldn't understand how her best friend felt when she made that statement.
Claire let out a heavy breath, closing her eyes and bringing the glass to her lips. She felt numb and dizzy. She could already feel the warmth of the vodka spreading through her insides and she squeezed her eyes shut, waiting for the burning to die down.
When she opened her eyes, she felt her whole body still as her breath got caught in her throat.
A sweet scent drifted through her nostrils. It feels like home if home can be a feeling, there is no place she would rather be. It is literally the only time her brain is able to be still and be present. When she closed her eyes, all she could see and hear and feel is like this incredible humming. Like their energies are just buzzing, so alive, so warm.
She had never felt this way before.
She looked around hoping to find the owner of that delicious scent. Her eyes finally landed on a pair of golden brown eyes. She gasped as she felt the air disappear from her lungs.
His unfathomable, golden brown eyes contrasted exceptionally with his light toned face. His eyes were as deep and expressive, where you could get lost if you stare long enough. He has a square jaw and a high cheekbone. He has a hair full of jet black curls that reached above his shoulders, which was styled to perfection.
An identical man came up beside him and caught her attention immediately. Her mouth gaped open in astonishment, they were twins! His eyes were golden, lighter than his twin's. She saw a hint of pain in his sparkling eyes which immediately disappeared as suddenly as it emerged. He has dark brown curls which were styled neatly into a bun. They were both extremely tall and muscular, standing at 6'3 or more, she didn't know. Their appearance was intimidating but strangely, she wasn't scared of them. She couldn't seem to take her eyes off of them. From the aura of power and authority rolling off of them in waves, she could tell they were Alphas.
They were both staring at her like a predator. Their eyes darkened, and they looked like they wanted to devour her. That thought alone made her heart skip a beat.
Her wolf paced in excitement as she chanted the words; Mates! Mates! Mates!
And realization suddenly dawned on her. She had met her mate. But, the moon goddess didn't bless her with one, but two mates!
She had finally found her soulmate, after what seemed like forever.
She had two mates, not only that —
She was mated to two Alphas.
Holy shit.
Chapter 2 — How Is That Possible?
Claire felt the world come to a stop as she continued staring at her mates with an awestruck expression. They didn't look surprised that they had one mate, they looked—dare she say—pleased.
Their golden eyes darkened to slits as they sniffed the air, breathing in her addictive scent. Slowly, like a predator planning to devour it's prey—they stalked towards her with determined steps.
Ashley gasped in astonishment, she had been watching the interaction between her best friend and the two Alphas for a while. And by the expression on Claire's face, she had come to the conclusion that they were indeed her best friend mates. But, how was that possible? She thought. In the whole history of werewolves, it has never been heard of to have more than one mate. The moon goddess had always blessed every werewolf with a mate. Witnessing this change in history for the first time was a total shock to her.
Claire's heartbeat quickened as her mates stood to their full height and started towards her. Their steps were slow and determined. Power was rolling off of them in waves, people cowered away from them in respect.
They weren't from her pack, that she knew, from their scent. It was different from her pack's scent.
Her knees threatened to buckle and it was all she could do not to tremble as they neared closer to her. Everyone's attention was now on them, some glaring at Claire in anger and disgust, their dance and night of fun long forgotten as they watched the twin Alphas stalk towards the omega of their pack.
Omegas were the lowest rank of werewolves, they were kicked out of the main parts and dumped in the secluded parts of the pack. They were treated like trash, and forced to work more than a normal werewolf should, and having no parents to fight for her when she got into trouble with the high ranked werewolves definitely made it worse. She was orphaned at a very young age. Her parents were killed by rogues who attacked the pack at the time. She's lived alone all her life, Ashley was the only closest thing to a family she had.
Claire had always hated the attention, she felt uncomfortable and embarrassed when she was the center of attention. But it was different this time, she didn't mind the attention one bit. She had always prayed for this day. The day she would finally meet her mate, now mates. It was a dream come true for her, everything around her was now a blur as she focused solely on the two handsome men stalking towards her.
“Mate.” Their deep voices boomed through the loud music making everyone gasp as the crowd started whispering. Her mates voice sent a pleasant shiver down her body. She had never felt this way before.
She glanced anxiously around the crowd, knowing her pack members would soon realize what was going on. And she tried not to cower away from their judging glares.
Her mates growled low in their throat, they didn't like the way their mate was being looked at. Like she was dirt. It was all they could do not to snarl at them.
Right from when they were taught about mates, they immediately wished to have one mate instead of two. They were popularly known for always sharing their women. The moon goddess finally granted their wish and they couldn't be more grateful.
Slowly, they took Claire's small hand in theirs. They raised it to their lips, and softly kissed it. Her body buzzed with adrenaline and her pulse quickened. As if they could feel that she wasn't comfortable with the attention.
“Come with us.”
Their order did a strange thing to her body. She felt compelled to follow their orders, this was a strange feeling to her but she loved every bit of it. She loved the thought of them controlling her, it was a strange feeling to her. Her best friend long forgotten, she followed her mates up the stairs and into the VIP room of the club.
Her heart was beating like crazy, both from excitement and nervousness. How was she supposed to act in front of her mates? Was she pretty enough to be their mate? After all she was an ordinary plain girl. Insecurities she'd been struggling with all her life were threatening to come to surface.
She didn't like the silence as they walked, so she decided to speak, “W-what's your name?” She silently cursed herself for stuttering.
“I'm Callan.” The one with the golden brown eyes and black curls spoke.
“Cameron.” The one with the golden eyes and dark brown curls added curtly. His voice lacked emotions, unlike his brother's who managed to show some sort of emotion.
“N-nice to meet you. I'm Claire.” She said shyly as her ear tinted pink. Callan's lips tugs into a devilish smirk as he takes her all in. The dress Ashley picked out for her did her no justice as the cold air hit her bare back. She hadn't thought that when she met her mate, she would be so shy to talk in front of them. Ashley had told her that when she met Jake, they immediately fell in love with each other.
Her case was different, she knew she wasn't in love with her mates yet, but she could already feel the mate bond connecting their souls together. She noticed how their presence made her feel safer than she's ever been in all her life.
“You don't have to be so nervous around us.” Callan whispered in my ear, his breath tickled her the baby hair on her neck. He was so close to her that the warmth of his body enveloped her, making her shudder.
“Is it that obvious?” She asked, slightly flustered.
“Kind of. In a way. You're our mate and we are bound to know whatever emotions you are feeling.” Callan explained. She nodded, wishing she knew what was going on in Cameron's mind right now. He was dead silent while Callan made conversations with her.
They finally stood in front of a large oakwood door. Cameron opened the door for them and they walked in.
Claire gasped.
Chapter 3 — Alphas Of The Dark Moon Pack
Claire gasped as she entered the room. It was dark with dim lights. Loud music echoed through her eardrums. Her eyes immediately fell on the stage, a girl was on it, she was putting on a red silky dress, it had a split in the thigh. She had dark blonde hair, and a mask on her face only allowing her gray eyes to peek through. She moved her body slowly to the beat before dropping down and crawling
towards the end of the stage.
Men cheered and threw their money at her as she twirled on the long poll in the middle of the stage. The VIP lounge was less crowded and the air wasn't hot or stuffy. The men and women in the room were of high classes, she could tell that a few of them were alphas of different packs.
Cameron and Callan took a seat on the couch in a much quiet place and gestured for her to do the same. She was sandwiched in between their muscular bodies. She tensed as she felt their body pressed against hers on the tiny couch, their close proximity was messing with her senses.
She almost jumped out of her skin when a warm hand was placed on her arm. She turned her head slightly and was surprised to see Cameron giving her an assuring look.
“Relax. We only came here to talk to you. We wouldn't do anything you don't want us to.” His voice was calm, and Claire couldn't help but think about the hidden meaning behind his words.
She cleared her throat. “What did you want to talk about?” She asked.
“I hope you are aware that you must come to our pack with us.”
Claire froze.
She hadn't thought about that. Will she just leave everything behind and move to their pack with them? She didn't think she could do that, it was too soon. She didn't think she was ready to take that step. Was she even fit to be a Luna?
'What do you mean leave everything behind? We don't have anything! We have never been accepted by Alpha Darius and his snubby pack members!' Claire's wolf yelled in her head.
She knew her wolf was right. She and other Omegas of the Night walker Pack were despised by the Alpha and his subjects. Except for his son Daxton, the future Alpha of their Pack, he had always been nice to her. He was the only other friend Claire had after Ashley. He wasn't arrogant and rude like his father.
The harsh truth that she truly had no one except her two best friends hit her hard. She had no other choice but to move to her mates pack and become their Luna.
That's exactly what scared her. Will their pack members like her? Will they accept her as their Luna?
“Claire.”
She was snapped out of her thoughts by Callan's voice. Her name sounded better on his lips and she resisted the urge to agree to everything he said. She turned to them, they were looking at her expectantly.
She breathed in deeply. “Um, C-can you give me some time? I mean, I have to pack my belongings and inform my Alpha.” She said looking at them pleadingly.
Cameron looked like he wanted to protest but Callan shook his head at him before turning to face her again.
“Fine. We would give you two days,no more than that. Or we will be forced to drag you with us, whether you like it or not. You are ours, and you need to get used to it.” Callan ordered, his voice turning deeper than normal.
Claire trembled. Not because of fear but because she liked the idea of being called theirs. Her wolf purred in satisfaction, even if she didn't like the idea of not seeing her mates for a few days.
Cameron stared at her through his long lashes. His eyes that held so many secrets stared at her intensely as if he could see every deepest darkest secret she was hiding. He looked emotionally detached but she knew he couldn't resist the mate bond. She could feel the same connection she felt with Callan buzzing inside of her.
Callan looked deep in thought as he stared into the distance. He was glad that they had finally found their mate. But he wished it would have been at a better time. They were currently at war with the rogues. Rogues are werewolves who were kicked out of packs and lost their human side making them grow feral. They were also being constantly attacked by vampires.
The Drengr coven. The coven of vampires. They were known to be the most ruthless vampire coven in the east coast of Romania.
Drengr are the pure bred vampires, they are the first vampires to ever come into existence. They have physical strength and speed, they can also control minds. Ultra violet rays, sunlight, and garlic have no effect on purebloods. They are immortals unlike werewolves who weren't blessed with immortality. Purebloods can only be terminated with a silver stake through the heart and must also be decapitated or they would be resurrected.
Callan knew if the leader of the Vampire coven finds out that they had a mate, he would immediately try to eliminate her. Over their dead body will they allow any harm to come to their little mate.
“Which pack are you from?” Callan was snapped out of his thoughts by Claire's soft angelic voice.
He studied her features as he replied, “The dark moon pack.”
Claire tried to hide her surprise but she failed to do so. The Dark moon pack was the most popular pack, known for having the strongest wolves in the whole world. No one dared to trespass or they were faced with a gruesome death. She had heard rumors of how monstrous the Alphas of the Dark Moon Pack were, she heard they were brutal and hard-hearted.
But that couldn't be true right? Right.
“From your expression, I guess you've heard about the rumors too.” Cameron asked, more like stated in a cold voice, his golden orbs never leaving her face.
She swallowed the lump in her throat and answered, “I'm sure they are just rumors.” She said, trying to sound confident.
Cameron smirked darkly at his naive mate. “Oh, don't be too sure darling. You shouldn't trust so easily.”
What did he mean by that?
