Chapter 1
I have been so busy for some days now, preparing for my mating rituals with Tanya Gates, the daughter of Alpha Colin Gates the second alpha in command after me in the twelve packs of the white moon realm.
I have been so busy that I couldn't get enough sleep. I was stressed out and needed to take a break, but I couldn't since it'll be over soon.
It wasn't like I I didn't have the people to do those things for me, but I believe in doing things myself for better results, I learned that from my late father.
My mating rituals and marriage ceremony with Tanya Gates is tomorrow at the pack's event centre. I wanted it to be elaborate as I was expecting dignitaries so I went through a lot of stress to pull it through.
I never intended to marry Tanya, because I didn't love her and she wasn't my fated mate, but I had no choice as I was almost going feral for staying too long without a mate.
The Alphas' council of the twelve packs of the white moon realm and all the elders in my pack unanimously picked her to be my bride, since her family had a good reputation and by the virtue of her father's position, she's an Alpha
I laid on the bed and was about drifting off to Dreamland when someone started knocking on my door. I was very angry and promised myself that I was going to detach the person's head from his body for disturbing me, if what he/ she came didn't make sense.
"Who are you I roared."it's me Ted." Came my favorite gamma's voice from outside.
"It better be good." I responded as I opened the door.
"I'm sorry Alpha." He said, bowing.
"Please speak." I ordered.
"Please, follow me Alpha, I can't say... No, my mouth can't say what my eyes just saw." Ted replied.
"Let me go and change." I said, turning around to go back inside.
"No alpha, please, follow me now." He was sounding agitated.
That wasn't the Ted I know. I have known Ted since the day he was born, he father was my loyal sentinel until his demise about fifteen years ago, so I decided to promote his son to a gamma when he came of age.
Ted has never behaved like this before, so I was a bit taken aback and I chose to give him the benefit of doubt.
"Like I said earlier, this better be good." I threatened him. "Lead the way." I ordered and he did.
I noticed he was walking at a very fast pace, almost running and I quietly followed him till we got to my Beta who was also my best friend's house.
I heard voices inside and heightened my hearing. It was Tanya's voice, she was moaning and calling my best friend's name.
I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I turned to Ted, he was shaking like leaves blown by winter wind.
"I.. I.. I don't want him to know I... I said this to you." He stammered, still trembling.
I understood him, so I gave him permission to leave, even though I had a loads of questions for him.
"I will mind link you, when I need you." I said to dismiss him and he scampered away.
I pulled down the door and entered the house, just in time to see Andy my best friend removing his horse-like member from Tanya's body in his living room.
It felt surreal, I was so unbelievable as they both jump up, looking at me with their stack naked bodies.
I became very weak, as I lost all the strength I had. I couldn't believe it, I couldn't believe Andy would do such thing to me, I could believe Tanya could be so reckless.
I thought I had found a good girl, because she was always shy and didn't allow me access her body easily. I thought the elders and my fellow Alphas made a good choice for me, but I was a fool all along.
"Destroy them!" Black my wolf roared through my mouth, as he was fighting to take dominance.
Ted ran up to me with pleading eyes filled with unshed tears. I could no longer trust anyone, not even Ted, because he might do something worst to me.
"Please Alpha, please don't let the other Alphas win the battle." He pleaded.
When he said I shouldn't let other Alphas win the battle, he meant that I shouldn't shed blood, as it was a taboo to shed blood in the white moon realm unless there's war.
I wanted to ask him how and when he knew about it, when I started hearing murmurs from behind. I turned to see almost half of the pack behind me.
"Andrew Stones, you are hereby banished from this realm. You and every members of your family including your unborn children are not permitted to come anywhere close to the white moon realm." I decreed and the people present screamed with shock.
"Alpha please..." He tried to plead.
"Now leave, before you loose your head." I roared.
I wanted to kill him and face whatever consequences that comes with it, but couldn't bring myself to kill Andrew, as we had shared a lot in the time past. Andrew and I go way back over the years
His dad was my dad's beta and I was like a big brother to him, when he was born. He lost his mom at a very tender age and my mom became his mom.
People who didn't know us called us siblings and we happily agreed. Even after the death of our dads, we still stood strong together.
To think that Andy was the one telling me what and how to prepare for the mating and marking ceremony...
"What is going on here?" A few voices chorused and distracted my thoughts.
I turned to see a few of the other packs' Alphas behind me, including Alpha Colin Gates. Alpha Colin came right on time to hear what I had to tell his daughter.
"And as for you Tanya." I continued without taking another glance at the Alphas around. "This mating, marking, marriage whatever is cancelled and you should never step your feet on this land ever again. You and your family would do some rituals to appease the realm between now and the next full moon, else your father will loose his alpha position. I am the king of Alphas, by the virtue of the authority given to me by the moon goddess. I am Alpha Arnold McLean and this is my decree." I concluded and walked out, without talking to anyone or listening to what they had to say.
I heard little whispers, I knew if I heightened my hearing ability, I would be able to hear what everyone of them were saying, but nothing was important to me at that moment.
I wanted to go back home and have a quiet time, probably sleep, but it wasn't near possible.
'Make sure you cancel everything about the mating rituals for tomorrow and tell all my guests so they won't bother coming around.' I said to Ted through the mind link.
'Yes my alpha .' He replied.
'Ted, how long have you known this and for how long it's been going on?' I asked through the mind link.
I wanted to know, at least to be sure of what was happening around me and to know who was on my side and who wasn't.
'I saw your fianee, sorry your ex fiancee last week going to the beta's house and I didn't think anything of it, because no one would think something like that will ever happen.' He paused and I could feel his anxiety from a distance.
'So?' I questioned impatiently.
'So, earlier today, I was around the beta's neighborhood when I saw her coming, I wanted to say hi to her, but she looked suspicious...'
'What do you mean by she looked suspicious?' I questioned, cutting him in track.
'She was looking around like she didn't want people to see her, so I stayed aside to know what was going on and after a while, I started hearing moans. I wanted to mind link you...' He was still talking when I ended the mind link.
I guess allowing Black run around will be a good idea to help me forget everything I was going through.
I ran into the the woods and morphed into my wolf form, Black wanted to come out and there was no point stopping him. I need to run and roar it out.
As I was running in the woods, any other wolf that saw me, tucked their tails between their legs as a sign of respect, but I kept running and roaring without saying anything to anyone.
Thank goodness I didn't t mate and mark her, what would I have done if she did something like this to me after marking her?
The Alphas' and elders didn't want me to go feral and chose me a mate, now that mate is the one that wants to make me go feral.
Chapter 2
Mildred Paige
"Arghhh!!!" I screamed as I opened my eyes. It was already morning, I yawned, stretching simultaneously. Damn, it was another nightmare.
I was used to having those nightmares I couldn't remember when I wake up, but it wasn't my problem, it's midweek and I have a lot of jobs to catch up with, especially my job at the 'FEEL IT GYM CLUB.'
I started working at the gym house about four months ago and it was the best decision I made in my life. There I have good boss, colleagues and customers, unlike some other places I work.
Looking at my alarm clock, it was almost six thirty am and was running late, so I rushed to the bathroom, brushed my teeth, had a cold bath put on my uniform for the first job of the day, scheduled for 07-10 am which was a delivery job.
I went to the magazine company to get the magazines, after which I went to deliver them one after the other, with the company bike. It was fun riding through the beautiful streets of Canada on a power bike with my helmet on my head.
I was at top speed, so by nine am, I was through with the delivery, then I went to a nearby convenient store to buy a pack of noodle for breakfast.
I quickly munched the food and drove the bike back to the company. The manager gave me my pay check and a little tip. I smiled at him as I went back to the house to keep my money.
I divided the money into four equal part; one for food expenses, the second one for house rent, the third one for school fees, when I start school next year while the last one was for extra savings.
Living like this wasn't easy, but that was how I live my life everyday. Whenever I get paid, I share all the money equally so I don't spend unnecessarily.
I took a shower since I had a little more time, got dressed and left the house for my longest job of the day, the gym where I'll work from ten to four pm after which I will go the bar for my night job.
I know I was stressing myself, but if I must go to school I should pay the price that comes with it and getting money with my body is not an option.
"Hello, good morning." I greeted everyone I met cheerfully.
"Good morning Mildred, hope you're doing okay?" One of my colleagues asked and I nodded with a broad smile.
It was almost four pm and I was preparing to leave when I felt something strange happening to me, something I couldn't explain held me to a spot making me struggle in vein to move.
I raised my head to see a strange man, or should I say a strange creature, because this person was too beautiful to be called a man.
He was tall, huge, with long flowing hair, thick abs, broad chest, oblong face... I was lost staring at him as I kept swallowing my saliva.
"Mate!" He exclaimed excitedly, with a deep, husky masculine voice that I almost choked on my saliva.
I knew if I kept looking at the strange man, I might end up in his arm, doing what I have never done in my twenty three years on earth with him.
"Wh.. who.. who... Who are.. you..." I stammer, still staring fixedly at the fine piece of art work.
"Mate..." He drooled again, this time louder, making me scared.
I tried to raise my legs and it worked. What did this strange man use to hold me? I took one more glance at him and took to my heels, without turning back to know if he was chasing me.
When I got to the house, I couldn't do anything, like I used to, so I lay straight on my bed. I guess I was scared of the strange man and I was already feeling something for him, as that was the only word to describe how I felt for this person I barely knows.
My phone started ringing, it was a call from Aya my friend, who was also my colleague at the bar where I work at evenings.
"Hello, Mildred, where are you? It's already past five pm and the boss is looking for you." She said.
"Please, Aya, you have to cover up for me, I'm in traffic now, and I'll be there in say twenty minutes." I lied and ended the call immediately, to avoid Aya's numerous questions.
Aya and I knew each other and became friends two years ago where we used to work as hotel receptionist.
Thank God I showered at the gym before coming home, so I just changed my clothes and rushed to the bus station to get a bus that would take me to the bar.
In the bus, I felt like someone was following me and the feeling was so strong that I was looking around to see if there was anyone looking suspicious, but I saw no one.
When I got to the bar, Aya really covered up for me that no one noticed I was just coming. That was what we did for each other all the time, so it wasn't new.
After working for the day, it was time to close when Aya noticed someone, probably a customer that was inside the bar, but his head was on the table.
"Who is that?" She asked.
"Are you kidding me? How do you expect me to know him when you don't know him?" I asked, giving her a stern look.
"Whatever, he's probably drunk, go and wake him, so he would leave here and we can go home." Aya commanded.
As a matter of fact, she has been commanding me since I got to work. According to her, it was my punishment for coming late.
"You should go Aya, you know you are better with drunk customers than I am. I tried to avoid going to the person.
After a long time of argument, she finally went to him. I watched as she was talking to the guy who didn't raise head up. Shortly Aya walked up to me making a funny face.
"He said, he wants to talk to Mildred." She said with sarcasm.
"It's.. it's.. not true.. I swear, I don't know him." I stammered and it only made Aya laugh hard at me.
"I never said he knows you, I only delivered his message." She hit my shoulders and smiled at me. "The boss would be mad if she finds out we are still here by this time."
I walked up to the person with anger. I wanted to shout at him and asked what he wanted to say, but when I got to where he was, I felt what I felt earlier at the gym house.
The customer raised his head up to look at me. "Hello, Mildred." He smiled.
"Oh.. my..." I coughed.
I turned to look at Aya, she was laughing her heart out and it was pissing me off, but I couldn't control what I was feeling for the strange man.
"I'm sorry, I know you're mad at me, but please have dinner with me tonight." He said with his soothing voice.
"I.. I don't know you." I managed to say.
"You'll know me and, you can come with your friend." He said.
"Can I call my boyfriend to come with us? That's the only way we are going anywhere with you tonight." Aya replied and I turned to see her standing behind me.
"What?" I scoffed.
Aya was living with her boyfriend, so if we told him we were going out with a person we didn't know, he might misunderstand, I guess that was why she wanted him to come, but I never agreed to go with them.
"It's fine by me." The strange man said and soon we were at a place where we were eating fried chicken and beer.
It's been long since the last time I drank beer and it was Aya and her boyfriend that took me out the last time. I did and since then I've been avoiding going out with them, until I have money to pay for the bills.
I started by sipping the drink shyly, but then, I started enjoying it and I drank more and more until I could no longer control myself.
I always knew Aya wasn't good at drinking alcohol, and soon she was already drunk, blabbering and slapping her innocent boyfriend severally.
"Let's go home." She yelled at him for the umpteenth time.
"Hold on, Mildred is still here." He whispered to her, but I heard him.
"It's okay, Jake, take her home, I can take care of myself." I assured him, before he finally took her home.
I knew he was skeptical about leaving me with someone we knew nothing about, but I was sure I could take care of myself.
"Excuse me, I want to use the restroom." I said and got up.
"I'll go with you." He said.
"Never mind" I replied and walked away.
After using the restroom, it was my best chance to leave the stranger and run home.
I walked outside the place, with the intention of running away from him, when I felt a sweet masculine hand holding mine.
"You want to run again Mildred?" His soothing voice asked and I was shocked.
How the hell did he know? How did he even find me at the bar? What does he know about me.
"I..." I took a deep breath. "How did you know..." I was still talking when he brought his lips close to mine and grabbed my lips with his.
Chapter 3
Alpha Arnold McLean
Seeing my fated mate in the human realm was never what I dreamt of, but I guess that was the goddess of the moon trying to comfort me.
Besides, the moon goddess did a great job by joining me with the most beautiful woman I've ever seen in my lifetime.

After Ted's explanation that day, I couldn't concentrate or do anything properly, because I felt like I wasn't good enough. I felt used and betrayed by everyone including the moon goddess.
The next thought that came to my mind was quitting my Alpha position, but, how will I tell my father and his fathers that I threw away the reason they worked hard over the centuries and millenniums because of a woman?
Besides, Alpha Colin Gates will laugh at me and take my position without hesitation.
I isolated myself for days without eating, sleeping or bathing, thinking what I should do to heal my heart.
After about three days of maltreating myself, I heard a knock on my door.
"Who?" I growled angrily.
"Ted." Came his voice from outside. "I know you don't want anyone to disturb you, but you can't continue like this Alpha."
"You already know I don't want to be disturbed. Please leave." I said the last words quietly.
"Alpha..."
I'm fine, you may leave now." I said, without giving him a chance to say anything.
"You're not Alpha.. instead of locking yourself up and allowing your rivals win, why don't you take a break, like give yourself a vacation. I'm sure when you return, you will be better." He suggested.
"Thanks Ted. I'll think about it."
With that I started preparing for a trip to Canada the place I love most in this world.
'I'm about leaving for the trip you suggested Ted. See me immediately.' I ordered through the mind link.
Barely thirty seconds after calling him, Ted was at the door knocking, like he was still hanging around, waiting for my call and I opened the door for him.
"I'm going to Canada to take a one week break as you suggested." I started, as soon as he entered. "Only you are permitted to know about this." I warned him and he nodded.
"Yes Alpha." He replied.
"Take care of everything, and mind link me if anything comes up. Don't call me no matter what happens."
"Yes Alpha."
"Thanks Ted, I shall reward you handsomely when I return." I promised him.
"Take care of yourself Alpha." He replied and left.
I left the pack at dusk, without taking any clothes or car, so no one would suspect I had such plans in mind.
I intended making my trip as secretive as possible, so instead of going directly to the airport, I went to the train station and boarded a flight from another city.
I booked a suite at one of the most exquisite hotels in the capital city on my way to the airport.
I got to the hotel I previously booked before coming down here at night and went straight to my room, completely exhausted from stress.
I tried to catch sleep, but it wasn't forthcoming and I tossed and turned on the bed till dusk.
I decided to take a stroll around the beautiful streets of Ottawa that morning.
While I was outside, the beautiful smell of citrus and peaches ran through my nostrils and before I could get hold of it, it was already gone.
"Mate..." Black howled.
I looked around, but saw no one around, except occasional cars or power bikes, passing by and I felt frustrated.
I walked around for several hours without perceiving anything anymore and went back inside, feeling frustrated.
I don't need any woman in my life, at least not now. I really need to get my sh!ts together first.
'We need our mate, everyone needs their mate.' Black argued.
I was in no mood for arguing with Black or anyone, so I ignored him and went to the bathroom. After bathing, I decided to stroll out to look for something to eat.
I took a cab, as soon as I left the hotel room to a restaurant I saw online.
There was a gym house close to the restaurant, I decided to do a little work out before eating, even though the sun was still up.
As soon as I entered the gym house, the same fragrance I perceived a while ago filled the air and Black started jumping for joy in my head.
'Let's find our mate.' He howled.
I wanted to ignore him, but I guess the mate magnet was stronger than me as I saw myself walking towards where the smell was coming from till I got to where the most beautiful woman I've seen in my life stood fixed, probably waiting for me.
She has light brown flowing hair, gray eyes, round full face, tainted nose and a wonderful figure eight shape. Her full lips were calling me to eat them up.
She looked damn hot on her lemon green polo shirt with a pair of black jean trouser she was putting on.
I guess she was shy after seeing me, because she ran away.
I couldn't get my eyes off her, as she ran.
Thank the heavens I didn't marry Tanya Gates. How would I have met such a wonderful significant other?
I followed her smell till she got to a small rickety apartment in a ghetto-like area I never thought existed in this part of the world.
She didn't notice I was following her, so it confirmed that she's a human.
While she entered her house, I stayed close to monitor her movement to know if there was any man in her life.
After a while her phone started ringing and she called a name 'Aya ', she asked the Aya to cover up for her and soon she was out of the house again.
I waited for her till it was almost midnight for her to close from her second job and she wanted to avoid me, but thanks to her friend and her friend's boyfriend, I was able to take her out.
My mate is in the human realm and not just that... She's working herself to death? I won't allow it.
After her friends left, she started looking for every means to run from me, but her smell always sold her off.
The last time she tried to run after lying she wanted to use the toilet, I caught her outside and sealed our meeting with a passionate kiss.
She was already feeling tipsy and so was I. I carried her to my car and drove off to the hotel.
I never intended to do anything with her just yet, or without her consent, so I placed her on the bed with the intention of making a demarcation with pillows, but it didn't work as she pulled me to her and grabbed my lips with hers.
"Why can't I reject you stranger?" She moaned inside my mouth.
She started unbuttoning my shirt gradually, while I peeled off her pale blue top.
I unstrapped her bra and cupped her breast with my hands. It felt warm and cozy.
'This is home.' Black grumbled in my head.
She tore my white singlet without stress and I wondered how she got the strength. She took her time to romance my chest, feeling my body.
I couldn't wait to explore her.
Her hands moved straight to my jean zipper and I pulled off her skirt.
While she was still struggling with my jean zipper, when her phone started ringing.
'Who the hell is that?' I almost grumbled out.
She pushed me off her and scurried to her bag.
After what seem like forever, she brought out her phone, but it already stopped ringing.
"Who is it?" I asked possessively.
She was about to say something when it started ringing again and she picked up.
"Jake!" She exclaimed. "What are you calling me at this time of the night for? Is something wrong with Aya?"
She looked agitated and I enhanced my hearing ability.
"Did you get home safely?" Came a male voice from the other side of the phone.
She wanted to reply, but he kept talking.
"Are you still there with that man? It's risky out there, you have to be careful. Don't let that man deceive you, evil people are everywhere, wolves in sheep clothing."
Black grumbled angrily at that stupid statement.
How dare he? How dare that incapable man compare me and my kind with mere sheep?
If he was here, I would have detached his head from his body.
"Look, Jake, stop caring about me, I'm your girlfriend's best friend, and nothing can work between us." She warned sternly and I smiled.
Wait... What? Jake is lusting after my mate? His girlfriend's best friend?
'Humans!' I grumbled in my head.
'I'm very sure Andrew and Tanya are humans.' Black retorted sarcastically.
Whatever! I'm going to feed Jake's groins to the dogs.
"I want to go home." Was the next thing I heard.
I raised my head to see my mate standing in front of me all dressed.
"What?!!"
I will skin Jake alive! I swear!
